Nope! We just moved to the area and picked this as our first pizza place to try. We ordered a large pie with meatball topping on half of the pizza. The cheese was two different colors(topping side vs. plain side) and we quickly figured out why. This was obviously a pre-made, fully cooked plain pizza that was reheated with the meatball topping added and some extra cheese to hold the topping in place. It tasted like reheated pizza. The crust was very hard and dry. Definitely not going to be our weekly pizza spot. Very disappointing.

Very nice people that work here and they get the food out quick… but… The pizza is not very good. I am new to the area and been trying all the local pizza places and this is one of my least favorite. The pizza is dry and the crust consistency just is off.

It’s great. A little on the expensive side, but I highly recommend personalized pizzas. I do half buffalo chicken and half eggplant ricotta(it’s not even on the menu, but they’ll make it for you!) The people who work here are so nice, polite, and friendly… it’s a pleasure every time you walk in!

Called and ordered a plain cheese pie. Well«plain» is a definite overstatement. There was nothing even remotely good about this pizza. It was tasteless and dry — like nothing I’ve ever had before. We managed to get through one slice but couldn’t even get halfway through the second. The rest went in the garbage. Doesn’t even deserve the one star I had to give to post this!

I have tried every pizza place in the area just getting large plain pies. I was really hoping that this place would be good since they have a dining room, however the pizza is too thick.

Been ordering pizza from here for decades. It’s the best in the area. Great crust, speedy delivery and great cheese to sauce ratio. If you move into the area make Alonso’s your go to pizza place.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. The pizza is amazing. I always get garlic knots to go with it. You can’t go wrong! I’m reading people talking about the pizza was reheated… have they ever been to a pizzeria before? Go to dominos if you want cheap subpar pizza. Or go to alfonsos and stop in and see Angelo. Awesome guy and is very friendly. I’d give 200 stars of I could here.

The staff was super nice, but the food was lacking. I wanted to love my dinner, I did not. My friends weren’t thrilled with what they ordered either. I got a Chicken Florentine and it had way too much sherry or something in it — it wasn’t even the right color. So while I appreciate the nice people, I cannot say that I will be going back.

Don’t have a lot to say here. We have stopped in twice for pizza. On both occasions, we have enjoyed it very much. I liked the sausage on my pizza particularly. Not a lot of difference between Alfonso’s and other local spots. Good pizza. Good price.

The help is very nice, the wife is very polite… The owner. Not so much. sometimes you catch him in a good mood. But I went in there and he practically threw my food on the table., my kids were mortified. Will NEVER go there again.

Alfonzo’s has the best Pizza I’ve tasted in the area. They have been around a long time and are pros. The crust is great, plenty of cheese and its consistently good. I’ve been going here for years and they have always been a cut above the other local pizza places(including those in Westfield). Prices are just ok, a bit pricy when you get a bunch of toppings, but like they say, you get what you pay for. Their hot wings used to be «cluck you chicken» and you can order them spicy, but the last couple of times I got them they were not spicy enough.

Great local place for pizza and subs. The service staff is attentive as it truly has that Italian feel to it. You are able to sit down or grab your food to go. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in the area and perfect for local casual dining.

The pizza was reheated after sitting in the window with flies circling for God knows how long. The crust was stale hard and flavorless. The sauce was nondescript. The toppings on top still cold and gross. Service was friendly but we were told to sit by the door because we only ordered slices The slices themselves were cut small. Please, tell me there is better pizza somewhere in NJ?

I don’t understand the rave reviews. It is good pizza, but about as well as anyplace in New Jersey. The service was good. The décor was the same as every pizzeria in Jersey. If you’re in the area and want pizza, this is a good choice. Don’t go out of your way.

Two stars and I think the second one is for pity. Its a long time establishment in Scotch Plains and when I first moved to town I tried it as everyone I talked to raved about it. People are nice and it seems clean but thats about it. I ordered the pizza which was BURNT on the bottom and cold on top, have no idea how that was done so I decided to go back to Italian Village in Plainfield as Ive never hada bad meal there. This past weekend I figured Id give another try. Bad move! They have having a special and any cheese pie is $ 10. I guess they are just making pies cause I ordered, waited about 20 mins and was given a cold pie. They couldnt even throw it in the oven to warm it up! That was the last straw and will never be back. I have no idea why some people love this place so much, its garbage.

This place gets five stars because the service is THEBEST! My husband and I go semi-regularly. One time we didn’t go for almost a year, yet the pretty young lady who usually serves us remembered us and treated us so nice, as if we were regulars! It’s so great to have a place that you can go and really feel at home. It’s just a terrific atmosphere because everyone who works there is so nice, which is rare in this day and age. My favorite thing on the menu is the scungelli salad. I usually don’t like pre-made vinegarette, but theirs is awesome. The last time we were there, they had this shrimp, scallop and spinach special that was off the hook delicious! Also, another rare thing … you can ask for water with fresh lemon and you’ll get it! I go to so many places, ask for water with lemon and my request always gets ignored. Not here! They are always attentive and you get what you want. I LOVETHISPLACE!

Nothing too impressive. The pies are ordinary, the crust pretty flavorless. The sandwiches are a little better than that. The zucchini was amazing the first time and has sucked every time since but it was so good the first time that I keep trying. We live very close so sometimes we go here simply for convenience but if you’ve got time to look around there’s better in the area.

I am not too picky about pizza joints but this one did not impress. Best thing about it is that they serve beer. Plenty of seating. Counter service only at lunch. Place is big enough to have waiters in the evening. I tried their version of a Margherita pie. Thick crust but not Sicilian style. Fair tomato sauce, ordinary mozz, good pesto instead of basil leaves. Sorry Miranda.

The best pizza that you can find in the county or this part of NJ, and no one even comes close! For me to drive 45 mins to return must be telling you something, trust me, it’s well worth it! Pizza here is made with a thin crispy crust, just the right amount of ‘gravy’, or sauce if you prefer to call it so, and the cheese is REAL cheese, home made, not plastic and cloned. Bellisimo!!!
