History
Established in 1968.
Sweetbrier Park began in 1968 as the dream come true for Oregon-native Bill Krauss. His lifelong passion for trains led him to purchase with his wife Marie the 19 acres in Scio/Lyons area, southeast of Salem, OR. Over the years, he built a train station, laid 1 mile of 2ft. gauge track, installed a bridge, cleared large areas for picnics and parking, established RV sites and planted some trees and foliage to create the perfect Oregon wooded experience for visitors from near and far.
