I have eaten at this place several times including the True Texas BBQ, which is part of this restaurant and is a stand alone restaurant in the Seguin HEB. Firstly, the BBQ at both True Texas BBQ is fatty(all of it, the ribs brisket). It is just a poor quality meat. I tried a Cubano sandwich today at 3009 in Schertz. It should have been called two Cubano sliders. It was so small a dollar bill could have easily covered this sandwich. And this sandwich is $ 9!!. I have read this about the prices here from many reviewers. And this place has higher prices than Seguin. It is embarrassing knowing the owner of True Texas is sitting in an office somewhere calculating what prices her food should be priced at based on the leases, medium income of the area etc. I cannot believe the small size of that Cubano sandwich. the sandwich was tasty and I loved the sweet and spicy pickles. But what is the point of trying to sell a $ 9 mini sandwich with chips, if someone will only try it once and not come back. I won’t be coming back to this overpriced mediocre place. It is a shame because I know I am not the only one. It is disgraceful to have seen all the fan fare with these True Texas and other restaurants that this corporation has brought to our area in these HEBs including the one in Stone Oak only to see the public delivered a sub par, overpriced product. I can get that at Chilis or BJ’s Brewhouse.

As a former heb employee, I decided that I would check up on my old work place to see how they were doing and I’m absolutely astounded by any review below 4 stars! the time and preparation that goes into each customers plate here is fully thought out and handled with prestige care. I work in a new restaurant now and transitioning from heb to a regular company is a major downgrade when it comes to health standards. HEB’S health standards are through the roof tedious. you will not find a single thing wrong in one of their kitchens. your stomach should thank them! hours and hours of making sure your food is completely safe to eat is ensured at any heb restaurant or store. The food is awesome to and completely tromps over Rudy’s any day for the record.

My friend a I decided to check out this place for brunch. I ordered the crab cakes and my friend the egg Benedict and we decided to share. Both dishes tasted good. The live music was a nice touch, definitely a nice place to meet fiends and have brunch(the regular menu items sounded yummy as well).

This place is located inside HEB and must be owned and operated by HEB. What I am not reviewing is the experience of having accidentally bumped into a lady and receiving a death stare from her. The sitting area is tight at lunch and she was all elbows and woman-spreading to maximize her lunch time real estate. The menu is a bit confusing. Small plates, pizza, and a variety of items was distracting for my cognitive abilities. There was a total of four different customers standing in line open mouthed as we studied the menu. You order by standing in a line similar to an amusement park ride. My first impression was that they are expensive. Like a nice restaurant they round up their menu to whole dollars. 15… seemed to be the mode for pricing. They peddle wine and name their food as if you are fine dining. Mind you… that on the other side of the wall people are in HEB buying toilet paper and acne cream. I ordered a two meat bbq plate because at 13… it seemed a better value then Thai encrusted chicken at…17…the food was ok. I would compare it as a notch below Rudy’s. I sat at a table next to a couple of HEB execs that were meeting a vendor for lunch. I resisted the urge to tell them their prices were too high, and wolfed down two ribs that had a thick layer of fat and little flavor. The brisket was good and I wished I had just ordered that. This is a unique place from my experience. It is like eating at Sams or Costco but instead of cheap food that will clog your arteries it is semi-expensive food that will do it. The nice part was I could swing into HEB fir some Imodium AD. This place seemed to draw a lot of white collar customers. Maybe it reminds them of a whole foods and the familiarity is comforting to them.

I usually like to eat breakfast on Sundays at this place. I like their crispy bacon, eggs are done my way some fresh potatoes and nice toast English muffin. Their best mimosa is the one that is made with cranberry juice. The staff is nice and they have live music every Sunday. The ladies at the register where I placed my order they need to be more friendly and helpful. They made me feel like I was taking too much of their time. Overall it is a good place to be for breakfast or lunch.

Gassed up at HEB since they had some of the better gas pricing around 3009 and felt a rumbling in my tummy. My friend wanted a sandwich, ya gurl was in a pizza mood, so this was the closest comprise. We were greeted when we walked in, placed our orders quickly, and seated ourselves indoors since it was packed outside with only a couple guests dining inside. I had the mushroom, sausage&pepperoni pizza and it was excellent. Served on thinner crust but sturdy enough to hold the weight of its generous toppings. My friends raved over the turkey bacon club and practically inhaled his sandwich. Definitely plan to visit again and try some of the rest of the menu.

The Korean fried chicken is stick to your ribs delicious. Easily shared between two people. The blue burger is amazing, and the onion rings are always crispy. If you shop before eating, they will take your cart and stick it in the cooler for you so you can enjoy a meal and then head home with fresh groceries. Easy, quick, fantastic food.

I’m a glutton for punishment. I know I said I wouldn’t be back because of consistency issues, however I’m glad I’ve kept coming back here. This place still has issues keeping items stocked. They frequently run out of things like meat and sides related to their BBQ menu, and sometimes they run out of lids for their larger drinking cups. But if you come here when things haven’t run out you’re in for a treat. I usually order BBQ here. The rub used on their ribs is excellent. It’s got a sweet yet spicy feel to it and the meat nearly falls off the bone. The brisket has a nice barky exterior and usually an excellent smoke ring. You can’t go wrong with any of the sides, I usually go for the brisket beans and Mac and Cheese or I’ll splurge on the cream corn. The BBQ sauce is super peppery and very delicious. Last night was no exception! I decided to add on a fresh rocks margarita. I love this place and will continue to frequent!

Went over weekend. My second time and Nathan’s first. He wasn’t too happy with their menu. A lot of fufu choices or addition to items I fear. My raviolis were great. I asked for less cream. Next time will ask for pesto less too. The ravioli them self were yummy. I was told I’d get bread but it never happened. No biggie but noticeably absent. He had the burger and enjoyed it. Felt the fries were so so. I wish they posted somewhere who is singing. As we were leaving store the musician I really liked last time was there. Boo! Finally wish they’d offer a herbal tea in addition to black tea. I’d probably go more if they did. Plus need to put it nutrition info. Overall I recommend them.

Went here for the first time. My wife had been here before and was raving. The décor was nice and clean looking. The staff was curteous. I went with the 2 meat BBQ and my wife the sliders. I got the sausage and turkey with Mac & cheese and fries. The only issue was that the turkey was dry. We brought it up to the staff. Next thing I knew the head chef brought me new slices of turkey to our table. He apologized and damn was it good. We will definitely be back.

I walked I and was greeted by the most friendly hostess that I have had in recent memory. She wanted to know if I was new to the restaurant, and since I was, she gave me a complete overview. Based on her suggestion, I ordered the brisket plate. They were out of all sides but beans, but that was ok. I wasn’t eating there for the sides. They brought the food to my table, and it consisted of 3 slices of brisket, beans, pickles, onions, bread, and a tiny cup of sauce. With drink and tax, it came to over $ 10. The brisket had pretty good flavor. If it had not been overcooked, it would have probably been great. Will I go back? Probably will try their burger, as it was the 2nd choice by the hostess.

Remember back in the day when the county fair and industry expos would hand out free samples to the masses to promote their products? That’s kind of what this whole HEB restaurant experience is. For example: Order a turkey sandwich. You literally get a «sandwich» comprised of quarter inch sticks of HEB Store Roasted Turkey™. Sides? All conveniently available inside the grocery store. There is nothing in the menu that you can’t replicate via HEB branded products. So it’s not really a restaurant as much as it is demo kitchen. Which is fine, but the execution falls far below the vision. A lot of the things on the menu are really ambitious and described in great detail. I have the sneaky suspicion that every dish we tried could be improved upon with slightly higher quality ingredients. Also the portioning is rather… corporate. The BBQ plate I got looked exactly like the picture on the menu. Three slices of brisket, one sausage link, one chicken leg. Rather than measuring by weight(as God intended) they’re doing a visual set up. Which(once again) is OK but not exactly the warmest of experiences. No complaints about atmosphere, service or ordering. I just wish it was more about cooking and food than pushing product.

We had dinner here today after eating lunch at the Granary. $ 40 for lunch at the Granary got us 2 small sandwiches with flavorless meat, 2 sides we didn’t like, and 1 beer. $ 40 for dinner here got us Korean chicken for my wife, ribs, sausage, and brisket with corn and beans for me, mac-n-cheese balls, and 2 Texas beers. I’ve got a plate of leftovers in the fridge for tomorrow. The meat was better, the sides were far better, and it was a far better value. I don’t ever need to go to the Granary again. Tip: go to the bar and place your order there.

First visit. Cafeteria style fine dining. We ordered to go. The lady that took our order was super sweet and knowledgeable. She explained the difference between items and made suggestions. We ended up ordering Grilled chicken alfredo 3 meat bbq plate Korean fried chicken All were great choices. I wish the Korean fried chicken was served with rice. Although the kimchi mashed potatoes was actually good.(I love korean food) The 3 meat bbq plate was excellent. The Cole slaw did lack a little flavor. The potato salad is not as good as the one at the kitty hawk flaming bird section. It still not as bad. The chicken alfredo was delicious. The garden salad with the dill dressing was amazing. The Ceasar salad was creamy and my daughter loved their dressing. You order your food at the counter and they bring it out to your table. You have to get up and get your drinks, utensils, condiments and napkins. They have live music on Fridays –Sundays and daily specials. Worth stopping by just to see what specials are offered. Daily happy hour specials as well. Heb made a nice sweet restaurant. Can be accessed through the store or from an entrance to the right of the Heb doors. 1 star for service 1 star facilities 1 star for food 1 star overall Didn’t visit restrooms so I didn’t rate a star for that.

World’s ugliest restaunt. Did they pay someone for this design job? The only welcoming part is the lobby. After that, it is all faux industrial. With 15 feet tall windows along one whole side causing a glaring light with no counterbalance in any other direction. You look out side and it is a confusing network of lines, criss crossing in every direction from the window frames, patio beams, all with a background of glare. The ceilings are 30 feet high, how can that ever give you any of the cozy ambience that is so important in any eating place? Then you see a small bar at one end and think maybe that has some ambience of a cozy bar. But, no. Same high ceilings and glaring light. Even the little colored glass light globes are hung 15 foot high. Red and gray chairs, and black table tops? And who chose the brownish pattern backs with turquoise seats for the upholstery? Food does not add anything. $ 15 for a medium coke, medium salad and a 7 inch anemic pizza. Rudy’s BBQ just down the road anyway. And their outside patio has loads of atmosphere. I know this was a left-over space that you wanted to earn a little money in, but, please, don’t push it as a restaurant. Call it what it is, a small eating area in a large food market where you can grab a quick bite and no true restaurant experience was intended…

I am mixed between 2 or 3 stars. 4 for the concept, 2 for the implementation. I really wanted to like this restaurant more, but I think I went in expecting too much from a grocery store restaurant. First off, this is a fast casual order then sit restaurant. Not full service. Thats ok, I like that. The menu is all over the place. Some dishes are priced well, others high for the quality. The main positive was the dedicated kids play area(conveniently located) which allowed parents to relax more than at most restaurants. I went on Thursday so I missed out on live music, except the stage area was reserved for a private party which had a musician so I did hear it in the background. Now for the negatives… I started with the shrimp and grits. It was priced above most other dishes so I expected a nice dish similar to something out of Charleston, SC but this was more of a half hearted effort out of Louisiana. Not a lot of flavor or spice for a self titled cajun dish and I have never had to peel shrimp for a grits dish. Maybe thats just the Cajun style? It was a little cold too, which would be a theme here tonight. My wife had the street tacos and they were nothing special and served alone without even any salsa. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt so I went back and ordered a classic hamburger, figuring that may be more up their alley. It was ok, but the bun, although nice, was much bigger than the meat and the fries were so unimpressively cold that my kids didnt like them. The plates were not prepared very well. Nothing special. Overall the food was a step above fast food with a little more relaxed environment. The restaurant is missing something to make it interesting. Maybe a salsa bar or ice cream machine would help. Or maybe just a little more care for the plating and spices. I will say the craft beer selection on draft looked amazing and the specials and happy hour will probably bring us back for another visit. Happy hour might be the ideal use. I may add a star if the next visit is improved.

I will never go back because they play nothing but Country music over the intercom. I HATECOUNTRY! I will also not return because they are overpriced. $ 18 for 2 people and it’s not even a full service restaurant. You stand in a zig zag line to the counter to order. You get your own drink and napkins. No waiters for $ 18? And that doesn’t include our drinks. It’s only food. We ordered our beers at the bar. Now that was a pleasant experience. Jimmi was knowledgeable. The food was ok. As I ate it, I realized I can make the same Achiote chicken tacos and it taste better. HEB should just stick to groceries. It’s a shame too because I was really looking forward to frequenting 3 double o nine.

Ordered: Brisket Sausage(all beef) Kids chicken tenders Pecan banana nut bread Pros: Brisket was great. Great pepper taste and good smoke. Sauce was average. Not bad. Pecan banana nut bread was awesome! Live music was a huge plus. Country music performer played outside with the music also playing inside but not too loud. Cons: Sausage was bland. To go line was the same as eating in. If you call ahead your order, you’d still have to wait in a long line. They really should separate those two things.
