Something Fishy Aquarium Sales

I did not buy any fish here but I had a tank issue and I went there for help. The employee came right over to me and helped me find what I needed to solve my issue. They were a good help with getting me the right supplies and it fixed my tank issue.

The employees are arrogant and give false information regarding fish health and housing requirements. They sell clearly sick fish and claim they’re healthy. They do have a good selection with decent prices, if that’s worth it for poor quality. There are much better places to go in the area.

Unfortunately, I was sold two discus fish that were sick and infected my whole 55 gallon aquarium. Before I purchased the two fish I noticed that they were huddled together at the bottom of the tank. I asked if they were okay and was told that they were just stressed out because there had been a bunch of children in the store. Within two days I noticed that my 6 discus were dark in color and swimming erratically. On the third day I lost one of the last discus I purchased and took it back to the store. The owner gave me some ampicillin only to later find out that this antibiotic does nothing to successfully treat illness in fish. I asked about another drug and the owner told me he could get it for me but that I had to wait 6 days!!! I responded that by that time all of my fish would be dead. I lost valuable time treating my fish with the ampicillin when I could have used metronidazole. I lost all of my discus to the tune of $ 400.00 and I lost a $ 30.00 Uwaru as well as some Rummy Nose fish and 2 German Rams. I feel that these people are not knowledgeable about aquarium fish. This was devastating to me and I am very upset! All I got was «I am sorry». They should not sell sick fish to anyone! I told them that they’ve lost me as a customer! They don’t deserve any stars at all!!!
