They didn’t sell a single challah last Friday, and that’s a crying shame. Don’t fear for the bakery’s existence, however, because their braided loaves fly off the shelves at Gershon’s and the Nisky Coop, among others. It’s just that, as the still-slightly dotty proprietress says, people don’t like to drive to so many places any more plus this is what I would call a transitional neighborhood, not necessarily on your regular route. Still, you should try at least once to visit on a Friday and pick up a fresh-baked challah as you inhale the aroma… what could be better than that? I was here on Thursday, though, and got my challah frozen. It was still pretty good.
