I am a self taught herbalist and gardener with over 15 years of experience and 5 years working as a professional landscaper.

It was during this time that I realized just how environmentally unfriendly the industry really was. It was hard for me to fight my conscience every day, when I was asked to spread chemicals or fertilizers, when I planted things in places they didn’t belong, when I looked at the sterile landscapes and wondered why so many people chose to have a chemically treated landscape instead of something beautiful and full of life, so I created Native Gardens to try and bring back some of the native plants that are so crucial to not only our environment but our local ecology as well.

I didn’t just want to design and plant though, I also wanted to educate people on the benefits of using native plants and some of the many roles that those plants play. I feel that it’s important for people to reconnect with the natural world, we are a part of it, not separate from it.
