Darn Good Yarn is your local one stop shop to all things crafty! We specialize in yarn of course but also offer a wide variety of ready-​made products. Our yarns are said to be out of the box and incredibly unique! We have plenty of fun patterns to give you ideas for your next project. If you are not as crafty, we do offer ready made items such as purses, slippers, bracelets, and shirts. What makes Darn Good Yarn so different from everyone else is that all of our items are hand made by our wonderful women who we support in India. Without Darn Good Yarn, these women would not be able to support their families. We are so proud of the sustainable economy we have created in India and hope to share these beautiful yarns our women have created!

History

Established in 2008.

Darn Good Yarn was established in 2008 when Air Force Vet, Nicole Snow decided to pursue her interests of entrepreneurship and yarn. She knew the way yarn was supplied could be done better and she proved that to herself by launching Darn Good Yarn. For the first six years of Darn Good Yarn, the business was run solely out of Nicole’s house. With the purchase of her first commercial building in the summer of 2014, she is proud to announce she has her house back! So come, stop on by and check out all the beautiful responsibly resourced yarns that make such a tremendous positive impact on women’s life in India.

Founder, president and wine lover. Darn Good Yarn was started by Nicole Snow, a US Air Force Veteran. As she tells it: «After leaving the Air Force, I decided that I wanted to „unwind“ with yarn. In early 2008, I decided to take two of my passions in life – art and helping others – and combine them. The result was „Darn Good Yarn“ a yarn and fiber importer, wholesaler, and retailer. The mission was simple: provide phenomenal quality fibers to enthusiasts, while helping the women of Nepal and India become autonomous and self-​reliant.»
