I’ve taken my kids here for years, and the entire family loves this place. The prices are fair, and unless you get there when it’s super-busy, there’s usually plenty of seating, though occasionally, you’ll get a somewhat sticky table. They’re cash-only, but they’ve got an ATM inside. The employees are all high school kids, and the service is always friendly, enough so that I never feel bad about throwing my change in the tip jar /college fund. Recently, they’ve expanded their soft ice cream offerings. I’m a huge fan of soft black raspberry. Always in a gigantic waffle cone. They’ve also got strawberry and coffee, as well as the traditional chocolate, orange sherbet, and vanilla. Get that hard ice cream out of here!!!

This seasonal takeout restaurant(actually in Guilderland) is a great place to stop for ice cream and drive-in food. When riding between Guilderland and Schenectady during the warmer months, I have to make a pitstop at the Corner Ice Cream Store, which is located at the north end of the Carman Plaza. This place is busy each time I’ve stopped here. There’s outside takeout windows and an indoor counter. There’s also outside picnic table seating nearby and a few seats inside to cool off. The Corner Ice Cream Store offers a good variety of ice cream treats including soft serve, Perry’s hard Ice Cream(26 flavors) in cones & dishes, waffle cones, dips, sundaes, banana splits, IttiBitz, ice cream bars, popsicles, sno kones, ice cream sandwiches, shakes, Boston shakes, malts, floats, ice cream sodas, and take home ice cream(pt & qt) & ice cream cakes(48 hour notice). The food menu offers burgers, hot dogs, wraps, subs, fish frys(all white fish), fried seafood, chicken, sides, appetizers, and cold drinks. The prices are reasonable too! A small soft serve cone is $ 2 with tax. The original and now current owner used to own Frank’s Ice Cream in Loudonville, now Tracy’s Tastee Treat which has a similar menu with Perry’s Ice Cream, drive-in food, Eggplant Fries, and more. I especially enjoy their Reeses Pieces Deluxe sundaes, Corn Dogs, Michigan Fries, and Coffee Ice Cream Shakes, great summertime fare! Over the years, I would give this place 4 stars. However on my last recent visit, the Pistachio Soft Serve had a whipped texture instead of the dense, meaning air was probably pumped into the soft serve ice cream. NOTE: No debit or charge cards accepted.
