Umbra Window Tinting

Guys at Umbra did a great job on my car. One week after the install, I rolled my window for the first time and had a small bubble (Extremely cold temperatures during that week). Nino fixed it, no questions asked. Vehicle looks perfect, will be coming back with more cars.

I chose this shops window tinting from comparing similar high performance products to formula one which is owned by Eastman who makes llumar. I was impressed by the owners knowledge about his experience with the very best of window films. I had been offered a great price for the tinting so I was inclined to stop by before appointment. The cars that were on this Unilocal had me excited to meet this shop. I felt comfortable and finally chose this shop due to great value and a knowledgeable man. Work was performed to my liking and I’d recommend if your the person who looks for experience in people as well as cars.

Well, the reviews are true. Umbra Window Tinting are the ‘professionals’ in the Chicago area.
Nino worked me into the schedule and hooked me up with some great ceramic tint for my new ride. He is one of the only Formula One dealers/​installers in the Chicago area, but it is worth the drive. Pricing is pretty standard ($ 300 – 400) for quality tint and he had me and my 5-​door ride out under 2 hours. He is also really knowledgeable about paint protection options, so I may be back soon.
I will update the review after the tint has fully cured. However, this is the first time I’ve ever walked away from a tint shop with my warranty in hand, along with a certification that I am within state legal limits, should I get stopped or if I have to show proof at inspection.
For now, it is safe to say, I am truly satisfied.

This place is the best. Just had my second car done. Two windows, took less than an hour. Very professional, very polite. Tint is under warranty, which is a bonus. I will definitely be back.

Nino was great– scheduled me, confirmed beforehand, was on time, did a quality job, was thorough (clean car, stickers to remind me not to roll down the windows), explained everything, and is following up a week later to make sure all is good. very impressive

I had 2 cars tinted here by Nino and Marko. 1 sedan and 1 coupe. He carries Formula One tint, which I think is great. I got ceramic tint with 35% light pass-​through all around which is perfect for me and legal for Illinois.
As instructed, I did not roll down the windows for 3 days, and it has been 10days, I have not noticed any bubbles or install imperfections. Great quality install with a great quality product. It may take a while to get an appointment with Nino but they are worth the wait.

Listen to the other reviewers — the man is a class act, his service is great, he is polite and his associate whose name escapes me adds much value to his service. Top notch job on my car (which I will not identify since people here know enough about me) that makes me wonder why I waited so long to get this done. I drove to TX recently and it made the drive with plenty of glare & excess sunlight much more bearable. A true can’t miss and I highly recommend!

Nino and his guy are the best tint guys around. Call in advance, he is always busy. Great job to my daughter and my car.

Nino did a great ceramic tint on my car and when my paperwork reflected a different tint percentage than what I requested, he had me stop by to get it measured by a tint meter to make sure, then promptly corrected my paperwork.
Very personable, high quality work and they even offered my dogs a bowl of water while we waited. Definitely recommend! If there weren’t laws on tinting I’d have my front window done by them too!

Umbra did an awesome job on my car. I am very satisfied with the tints. I recommend it to anyone!!! After 5 years the tints look excellent. Still looks the same as it did when they installed it 5 years ago! Don’t hesitate at all, I’ve researched so many tinting places, and I’ve had tints done at other places, and none are as good as Umbra tinting.

All the reviews have it right. Get your windows done here. There’s a reason he’s usually booked a month in advance.
Labor is top-​notch (Nino has been doing tints for many years and takes his time get the details exactly right – total installation took about 2 hours). Materials are quality (he uses FormulaOne film, google top tint brands and you’ll see it consistently reviewed as one of the best).
Price is very reasonable especially if you want ceramic tint. Lifetime warranty on everything, though all of the top reviewed shops will have the same.
Would definitely come back.

Nino did tints for our TT. and we never had a second thought on coming again the second time when we got our M4… did an awesome job and the price is very reasonable. I would definitely recommend people here ! You can never go wrong with Umbra !

I recently decided to have my car tinted by Umbra after doing some research. Nino did an awesome job. I went with 35% Pinnacle ceramic tint all around and my car looks amazing. The quality of the work is really great and I would highly recommend this establishment. It took 2 hours to complete, but I hung around in their waiting area (used their wifi to do some work while I waited).

Rock solid. Researched a lot of places before selecting Nino and Umbra. Professional, on-​time, and excellent work.
Got full tints last time. Going back for the front end protective film.
Prices are par. Call ahead to schedule. This guy’s calednar gets full and for good reason.

What an outstanding experience I had at Umbra. I got tints done all the way around on my 15′ Subaru STi and I could not be happier that I chose Umbra. My only recommendation to go there was from the reviews here on Unilocal.Let me tell you there is a reason why Umbra has a 5 star rating. The quality of work that Nino and his assistant provided were top notch and could not have been better. Their focus on quality work and customer service is evident the moment you walk through the door. Even if you are just thinking about getting tints done, DONT even think about going anywhere else! Nino will take care of you and your car and you have the comfort of a lifetime warranty through any formula one authorized dealer. Not to mention an excellent value for the perfect installation of one of the best if not the best window tinting films on the market today.

Once again, this is the best place to get your window tints done correctly and professionally by Nino! The product speaks for itself when summer comes along. Always go for the top one if you want your car look good and function good with the tints without worrying anything!

This place has a perfect rating for a reason. I got my tint done on Sat morning, and it hasn’t been the best of weather, but even by last night the streaks are gone, no bubbles that I can see, just turned out perfect even without the heat of a sunny day to dry it up.
I made the mistake of going to another place north of me because I was impatient, and after seeing his work it’s definitely worth the wait, and I would recommend him to everyone!

Nino is a very cool, nice, and accomodating business owner. I had an 8am appointment on a Saturday (they open at 9am) and I was out in FORTY-​FIVE MINUTES!!!
Granted I was only getting two windows done, but that was an excellent wait time! I was expecting (from other reviews) to be there a few hours so I brought books, magazines, etc. to keep me occupied but didnt even crack them open because I was in and out.
He kept me informed the entire time, and I was even able to stand there in the waiting room and watch. The Lifetime Warranty that comes with your tints is an awesome plus and added security should anything unsavory happen!
I paid a great price, my lovely 35% tints look awesome, and I thank Nino so much for helping me take my whip to the next level!!!
