Napleton’s Schaumburg Mazda

I thought i had a good deal with them which is true. We agreed on the sales rep that we have no mo ey for downpayment so they agreed… I signed the paper. Then signed the contract knowing theres no downpayment after 2 – 3 month theyre sending me collection that they havent received my downpayment. You guys are ripped off you should know the deal that we agreed on i know i signed it finance manager knows that im not going for a downpayment but never said anything that he put in on the paper that i signed. This is outrageous.

Worst car dealership I have ever been to. Went there once a year and watched 4 men sit around and stare at us looking at cars but never once approached us. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back again and the same thing happened. All the dealers were sitting in the Customer waiting area. I asked if everyone was on break or if they could help me. They said they were with customers and they had already closed. Completely absurd. Not sure if they have ever sold a car there. How do you sell cars if you don’t approach customers or make people available to help customers?

Appalling service and even worse experience trying to buy a car.
Walking into the dealership, I noticed a handful of salesman and managers sitting at their desks. In any other dealership I’ve EVER walked into, I’ve been greeted within 10 seconds of walking in the door. This time? No greeting from ANYONE! No salesman, no manager: they were all looking at their cell phones, oblivious to me walking in.
So, I walked back to the service desk and asked about a test drive I had scheduled. The girl at the service desk was very welcoming and nice, and she brought me to the salesman WHO WAS 5 FEET FROM THE FRONT DOOR!
We went on the test drive, which was an average experience, and when we got back, the salesman stalled the car I was going to purchase, when he was trying to pull it into a parking spot up front. You’d think that they would be able to drive a manual car correctly.
Discussing my trade-​in/​purchase, I had explained that I was just looking to receive the «Fair» KBB price for my trade-​in, and I would pay the asking price for their car. This should have been an easy sale for them.
They responded by printing out their own KBB query, offering me a price that was for the base model of my car at the «Fair» value (my car is fully loaded), and I politely explained how they did not enter the appropriate features for my car. They retorted that they selected everything appropriately and that it was the best they could do. I explained that I could clearly see on the page that they printed that they did NOT select the correct features, and that they are purposely undervaluing my car. They said, «listen, we’re not playing games here. We know what the car is worth, and we can’t give you any more than that.»
Dumbfounded by their lack of general car knowledge and poor customer service, I stood up and left.
They had the easiest sale in history, and their horrendous customer service forced me out of their dealership. I highly recommend going ANYWHERE besides this dealership.

This place is so unprofessional. My husband and I walked in and we were ready to buy a car, but not one person greeted us. What a disappointment. I know you’re busy, but at least say hello or how can I help you? We stood around for about a minute and finally asked someone to help us. Weird. Anyways finally had someone help me. He seemed nice at first, anyways I was interested in a used car and it seemed great at first. I really loved it when I saw it. But I then noticed it smelled like smoke and it also had some burn marks along with a brake issue when driven. After the test drive I mentioned these things to the cars salesman and he said okay these are all fixable. Which I know they are, but I don’t want to buy a car which needs to be fixed first off. Not a good sign. Then he told us we would have to put a down payment to have them fix the brakes in the car. What a joke. Maybe they should fix it before they sell it to a potential customer! I was disappointed. I told my husband no, there’s too many things wrong with it and I don’t want to just settle. The car isn’t for me and it wasn’t. I told the salesman sorry, we will think about it, but I don’t want to go through credit checks and all of that if I didn’t really want the car. When I told the salesman that, he just gathered all the papers and left! Wow. That was so rude. He didn’t get the sale and that really must’ve made him upset cause he didn’t even say, oh thank you hope you keep us in mind or something. He’s very immature. Worst experience ever. So to anyone trying buying a car here, buy it somewhere else. I have standards and I’m not going to lower them.

The salesperson (Arthur) who did a test drive with us was nice. However, the general manager was basically demanding we agree to sit down and discuss pricing after the test drive «so we could let him do his job», followed up by him quietly walking away when we wouldn’t change our evening schedule to accommodate his incredibly forced request. That kind of behavior guaranteed that we won’t be buying from them. Just don’t waste your time here, go to any other dealership. I can’t imagine car buying getting much worse than this place.
The other comments about a terrible car buying experience are spot on. This place is awful.

Much like the posts below, this is a very poor place to shop for a car. No test drive offered, miscellaneous numbers written on a piece of paper. Tell you car costs «about» this much and your trade is worth «between «this and that. Felt like I needed a shower after leaving there, slimy. Never was given a straight answer even after I picked out a vehicle and gave them the keys to my trade. They tell me it will cost me about this much. When I asked the salesman Art why he can’t just give me a price and ask what he’s doing. He responds by saying «I don’t know, what am I doing». Sales manager was just as bad. Obviously starts at the top. Even trying to view the vehicles was difficult. They didn’t bother to clean the snow off anything. Parking lot was an ice skating rink. Really don’t know why this places lights are still on.
Went to Biggers Mazda in Elgin, class place. Franco was great, very knowledgeable.

I live and work downtown and didn’t make it out to the dealership in Schaumburg until 7:30 pm for my planned evening of car shopping — they close at 9 pm, btw — and the sales manager, Chris, and the sales person I worked with, Darryl, could not have been nicer or more helpful. (Why drive out there, you ask? Because a friend highly recommended Napleton and I take personal referrals seriously.)
More than an hour into the process and, despite it being nearly closing time (and no clear indication from me I’d be actually buying a car that evening), he suggested a long test drive route that would give me several different kinds of driving experiences. He even had us stop in a parking lot on the way so I could make sure my phone would pair with the Pandora radio player, and he patiently walked me through the process.
As it turns out, I decided the CX-​5 was for me. Not only did we settle on trade-​in and loan terms that worked well for me, but even at the late hour — we didn’t finish until 11 pm! — Darryl took it upon himself to transfer all my personal belongings from my old car to my new CX-​5, even carefully matching CDs to their jackets. (Which I myself haven’t bothered to do for, I don’t know, a couple of years?!) Then he carefully walked me through all the features, making sure I understood how to operate everything, and acted as if he had all the time in the world. By that time, I was so hungry from having skipped dinner, I was the one who seemed more in a hurry!!!
As I said, I could have gone to a closer Mazda dealer but drove all the way out to Schaumburg from downtown based on the strong recommendation of a friend – and now I’m clear it was worth it. I highly recommend!

I would be giving this dealership FOUR stars
But I’ve got to be honest” they deserved it.
I mean these guys have a Kia dealership in elmhurst that I would never walk in that building again .
I live near this Mazda dealership in Schaumburg.
We didn’t buy the car here but I needed to have it serviced. These guys were FOUR STARS from start to finish. From my service guy Matt to the mechanic
Eric. These guys really surprised me with their professionalism and knowledge of the business.
They better keep these guys because I have a feeling there’s not that many employees of this caliber within this company.

Customer service is poor, especially on the phone. When I first called inquiring about buying a new car, the person I talked to said that she needed to call me back, but she never did. I bought the 3, and a month later I got a recall notice on the car. I called to make an appointment to get the recall addressed, and I had to leave a message explaining the situation and asked to get a phone call back. Of course, I never got a call back. I called again about a week later and finally got to speak to a service representative. He was very short with me on the phone and impatient. He kept asking me, «Do you want to give me a call back when you figure out your schedule to make an appointment?» This was because I took maybe 3 seconds to figure out the day that worked best for me.
When I had my Honda, I would always take it to the dealer for everything, even simple oil changes. But after these experiences at the Mazda dealer, I will not be going there for simple services. They lost my business.

Just as bad the 2^nd time around…
Let me take you back in time… It was July 2010, my wife got into an accident and totaled our car and we needed a new one. So we stopped into Napleton Mazda and look at the 3. Initially I wanted a 3s, but when we worked on the numbers we couldn’t come to an agreement. They didn’t have any other cars that fit our requirements until we were ready to leave. Then the salesman takes us back to the service area where there is a black 3i touring (demo) with 600 miles which fit our needs. But with needing to buy a car due to our other one being wrecked we decided to talk numbers. We agreed on a price (after going through all of the usual back and forth to the manager 1980’s car sales tactics). Once we hit the finance office, the finance manager told us how we were getting such a great deal and blah blah blah. (Little did I know that the VIN he was writing us up as was not the 3i it was the 3s that we originally wanted.) So the salesman was lying that he couldn’t do the deal that we wanted on the 3s when he clearly could. Unfortunately we did not notice that the VIN was different when we were signing the papers so we took the 3i touring and went on our way. A week later I was told I needed to come back in to re-​sign some paperwork because, blah blah blah. Right after that, I went to wash/​vacuum the car for the first time and found some broken glass under the drivers seat. Under the passenger seat I found a reflector from the back bumper. I started to get a bad feeling so I ran a Carfax. Since it was a new car, I never would have thought to run a Carfax (Yes, it was titled as new). It ends up the vehicle was in a rear end collision and Napleton did not say a word about it during the whole process. After I inquire about it, they tell me that the car was being used by the owners daughter and someone busted out a window while she was at college, and in a separate incident she was rear ended (funny how that works as I felt I was the one that took it in the rear). To make a long story short, I had to keep the car, dealer didn’t help out or care, etc.
Fast forward to 2015… Looking for a new 2015 3s Touring to replace the 2010. I figured since it was close to my work I would give them a shot to redeem themselves and show me the exemplary service they talk about so much. In short nothing has changed. It took over 10 minutes (on a weekday with no customers in the showroom) to get acknowledged as I kept opening/​closing doors on a car on the showroom. Four salesmen were sitting at their desks too busy in their own work to worry about getting a new customer. Finally I was spotted, and turned over to a salesman. I will keep my comments about the sales puppet (I mean) person to myself and concentrate more on the process. The whole process leaves you feeling disgusting, I literally felt dirty leaving the dealership (literally). Test Drive was fine. Time to talk numbers… After waiting by myself at the salesman’s desk for 20 minutes, he finally comes back with a piece of copy paper with a bunch of numbers written in marker.
Issues with the numbers on there:
1) Nowhere did it mention the sales price of the car or the value of my trade-​in.
2) There were random payments written on the paper all of which included items tacked on that I didn’t ask for (paint protector, Interior protector, wheel locks, rubber floor mats, extended warranty, & maintenance plan). So you don’t know what your payment is on just the car. You don’t know how much the car is being sold for, the warranty, the maintenance, trade-​in, anything! It’s all just a big lump sum payment.
3) Salesman knew nothing about any of the numbers on the sheet, I may as well have been talking to a puppet. Any questions I ask get a reply of «hold on let me check» and then a quick phone call to a manager or walks over to his managers desk. He literally could not answer one question of mine without asking a «manager» first.
4) My favorite… an X_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​at the bottom of the page written in marker for me to sign off on which bloated payment I would like (like that would have been a binding document or something). While going through the numbers they would always act like they were doing me a favor. «We’re helping you out by xxx…», what a load of … One of my favorite things happened next, when they thought I was going to «come back tomorrow with my wife» they used the old coupon tactic. «Hey my manager wanted me to let you know that he will have some „coupons“ tomorrow which could take another $ 500 off, but you need to get here early before we run out of them.» Guys there are new sales techniques, move into the new millennium. I refused to fill out a credit app there and said I would be back (yes I lied to a car salesman), but there is no way I would EVER give them my business again.
I did buy a 2015 3s at Continental. I recommend Continental highly, it is like day and night, you will not believe the difference between the two.

Their lot is unorganized, took them 15 minutes to find the car I was looking for (it was in another one of their lots and they had to clean it up to let us drive it). The new sales guy, Arsenio, was cool. He was still human, you know, but after the drive there was the obligatory sales manager showdown of hard selling YOUMUSTBUYNOW nonsense from Marsen.
So, stereotypically bad experience. Roll the dice, maybe you’ll get a good sales rep and manger and a good deal on top of it. Mayyyyybe!

I came here after work to test drive 2 cars they had in their inventory: A 2016 Mazda 6 Touring (6-​speed manual) and a 2016 Mazda 6 Grand Touring (6-​speed automatic).
I was told initially that I couldn’t drive their 6-​speed manual model because «we haven’t come to an agreement on price and terms». So I was offered to sit in the 6-​speed manual model in their parking lot at the back. I disagreed with that policy, but wanted to see how the car felt inside so I tried it out.
Then I was shown a Grand Touring model with all the options. Again, couldn’t drive this one because I wasn’t serious about buying one. I insisted that I wanted a test drive of the GT model, but the salesman (Darryl) said he needed to talk to his manager before getting permission.
So after some talking, he led me outside to a Sport (base) automatic model. Given that I’ve already wasted a good 30-​minutes, I figured I might as well comply and get as much as I can with this dealership.
As I pull out of the dealership, we find a new 2016 Mazda MX-​5 blocking our exit. So we wait. And wait. As few sales guys are giving a guy the keys to his new car. Continue to wait. And wait. And possibly 10-​minutes later the guy pulls out.
I was thinking about honking the horn, but I remained patient. But I also felt like I was a nobody, as a 16-​year old kid who just got his license. There was no apology from the saleman, as if it’s just all in a days work.
I test drove the base model, it was okay, but didn’t represent the actual trim models I was interested in. And I will not be going back to this dealership in hopes that I can convince the manager to test drive one of his cars he has in stock.
Disappointed? Yes.
Surprised at the 1.5 out of 5-​star rating? No.
What do I think of the 4.3 out of 5 Google reviews rating? Shocked (which leads me to think that majority of them are FAKE.
Do I like the lime green they have on the outside and inside of their building. No.
Afterwards, I drove to the Honda dealership down the street and received an experience fit for a king (thank you, Sam).

Came in looking for a car to lease. Sales person was nice and patient. Was very knowledgeable and polite. However, we talked about leasing options and some questions were left unanswered. Was promised a call back in two days with information.
Three days later I got a call from the customer service lady asking if the sales representative called me back??? When I said he didn’t she was surprised and said she will remind him. A week later and no call from the sales, I noticed another missed call from sales representative and a voice message asking if I was called from the sales rep.
It’s just ridiculous and I ended up buying in a different dealership.

This place is a joke, and a waste of time. Let me tell you about the experience I had. The boyfriend and I came there at nine AM and started walking around looking at the Mazda CX-​5. No one came to assist us until about 20 minutes, and then another 30 minutes later the sales guy pulls up with the car to test drive. This car was an older model and had leaves in the backseat. I was immediately turned off in buying a Mazda after that. Should have left right then and there, but no we decided to see how much they would gives us for our trade in, 08′ Scion tC, 1200! That’s when I said no, we’re out of here! The guy who gave us the appraisal on our car, laughed at us, saying that we wouldn’t get anything higher for the car. Well whose laughing now, got triple as much for the car and driving a more luxurious car! I highly recommend Motor Works, Infiniti for anyone who is reading this review, they know how to do business!
As for Mazda please stop calling, you’ve already lost your opportunity to make a sale! This by far is one of the worst encounters I’ve experienced! Let’s put it this way if you missed the turn into this place, it’s a sign to keep on driving!

6÷1÷2015 (Must Read) We were put in a position that required us to get financing and car insurance that day at the dealership. After working with Rocco Mininni (finance manager) to get our car insurance and financing completed I shopped around and I am blown away at how Rocco completely took advantage of this situation. Our Insurance at Talro is nearly $ 900 every 6 months with a down payment of $ 200 (he said they couldn’t do any better than that). It included medical, legal and all kinds of completely unnecessary coverage. I cancelled this insurance policy today and now I have a new policy with another insurance company at $ 300 every 6 months and a $ 24 down payment.
Seeing that lead me to believe that he couldn’t be trusted. I then went to my bank and checked what APR on a 3 year loan would cost. The APR Rocco set me up with was 3.74%. Today I’m refinancing to a 1.8% with the same terms.
The impact of this is minimal. It forced me to complete new paperwork all over again which is time consuming. It cost me a month at this inflated rate on the loan and the insurance policy and it cost me nearly $ 100 in government feeds on the refinance.
Just the fact that he completely tried to scam over me and my fiancé to the tone of nearly $ 4000 over a 3 year period completely infuriates me. I can understand 25bps on a loan or $ 100 premium on the policy but this magnitude is deliberate and way out of line. I’ve already wasted enough time fixing this mess that you signed me up for; however, I do have at lease another 15 minutes to rewrite my reviews on google and Unilocal.I’m just dumfounded that this is how this company operates. It’s very disappointing and I believe the general public should know what they are getting into before they step into your office.
On top of that Napleton Schaumburg said they would knock off a couple hundred dollars if we write a review on Google which was the 5÷2÷2015 review. Do not trust this company.

Wow. I thought I was going to be the odd man out here with a lower review… 1.5 average? Ouch.
So, sales team was fine. Bought a brand new 2012 M3i a few years back and LOVE it. I will note that the salesman actually wrote up *the wrong paperwork* because he didn’t know the names of the colors. Could’ve been a huge headache, but I made him double check with someone else because the color name didn’t sound right. Additionally, I sold myself an upgraded electronics package by asking questions, they weren’t offered or explained to me.
Ken. Ken in Service. Ken is the only Service Appointment maker. In the last two weeks, I wanted to get some dents taken out. I paid to have the dent insurance/​fixer thing. DO NOT BUY THIS. They say it’s for anything smaller than a credit card, dings, ya know? There is the lightest of light scratches that I didn’t even notice until I got my face next to my car… it’s ridic. I shall post pics eventually. Probably.
Anyhow. During this process, Ken forgot my name all 17 times we interacted, both over the phone and in person. I had to say my name, my car type, and that I had it in for dent repair. I was talking to the man every single day. Additionally, the first time I called to ask him to make an appointment, was a Thursday at 3pm. He asked me to call him again on Monday and see if he’d done it. And then remind him to. WHAT. I told him, nicely, that it was his job to make the appointment and call me. Also, couldn’t he just do it right then? He agreed.
Guess what happened Saturday when I got my oil changed? Ken was there. Had no idea who I was. Had not called to schedule an appt on either Thursday or Friday. Then promised to do it Monday.
Guess what happened Monday when I called? He didn’t know who I was & hadn’t made it. I got put on hold so that he could cover up the fact that he was right then hurriedly trying to make an appointment. Then I came in, he had again forgotten who I was, and I got an SUV loaner… when they know I live in the city and commute. Which I reminded them. Terrible choice, but whatever. It should’ve taken 2 days, but I’m guessing, because he’d waited so long to get an appt, they couldn’t come in until later in the week.
The dent company required me to call them (because there were 3+ dents) before they’d do anything, then they said they wouldn’t do anything, then I called and talked to someone else, then they «rechecked», then they still wouldn’t do anything. 1.5 weeks later, I went to get my car back. All the grease pencil markings were still all over it to label the dents with comments added. My car was covered in writing, as if I needed the reminder of their sheisty rules. I requested someone clean it off. which they did after I walked back inside. Ridiculous.
I want a full refund of the «dent insurance.»

The whole Napleton Mazda dealer is such a pleasant place to come. From the service writer Dans willingness to help out to the wonderful customer service from the cashier Lisa everything gets done with a little extra attention. Not to many service places like this place anywhere in todays world. My hats off to your excellent service center. Thanks,

Bought a used Mazdaspeed3 from these guys. 2 others in the area but I liked this one the best. I sell BMWs so maybe I just have a higher standard for service than these clowns. My salesman Daniel was decent enough. Decently easy to come to an agreement but wasn’t very clear on the CPO warranty and the additional warranty options.
My biggest complaint, and oh god it is a huge complaint, is the horrible used car sales manager. Guy is a joke, I hope Napleton reads this and fires his ass for seeing how he’s running his dealership. I brought a friend with as I know how long and boring it can be. So we are sitting at Daniel’s desk waiting to go on our first test drive when this clown waddles over, looks down at us and (completely seriously) says to us «you boys are going to drive my car with respect right?»
I was completely speechless. At a loss for words. In my head I was thinking «ummm…are you f#*king out of your mind?!?» I stared at him for a good five seconds, looked at my friend who was equally taken aback, and back at the used car sales manager and managed a mere «uhhh yeah…» with a look of disbelief and questioning at his accusation. I was there to buy one of their most expensive cars and this clown has the nerve and gall to accuse us of hooning around on a joyride before we even left the dealership. If I ever did that I’d be fired on the spot. Incredibly rude.
Sigh. In the end, I bought it. When you look for used there’s not too many options on cars that aren’t produced anymore and had a limited production when they were. I’ve had my eyes on it for 5 or 6 years so found it and bought it. I’m extremely happy with the car, it’s an absolute blast. My experience at Schaumburg Mazda… not so much.
Big shout out to Ken, the service manager I believe. Knows how to run the shop and still maintain great customer service. I wish they were closer so I could work with him more but they are 30 miles or so. It’s unfortunate my experience was sullied so much by the front end.

I’m not sure what people expect when walking into a car dealership. This is not a place to make friends, get hugs, hold hands and sing together.
I had a pretty positive experience yesterday. I bought a 2014 CX-​5 that I saw on
about 10 days earlier. I had been looking around for about 3 months and Napleton’s in Schaumburg had the exact car I wanted — the mileage, features & price were pretty much spot-​on.
I called the day before — twice actually. The first time I asked if I could make an appointment to see this specific car and was told they actually do not make appointments, not to worry they have 6 – 7 salesmen on the floor at any given time and I would be helped right away. I hung up dissatisfied.
About 3 hours later I figured what the heck, I’m calling back. A different person answers the phone, Marty. I told him I was calling to see if the car I saw on
was still in their inventory. He took some info from me and said here’s our used car manager, he’ll know off the top of his head, let me ask him. About 30 seconds later he confirmed that they did still have it. We made –gasp– an appointment for the next day and he said they would have it prepped and ready for me to check out. Perfect.
I get there with my dad and this car was actually front and center on the floor — my thoughts — they really want to get rid of this one!
We went back and forth on the price about 3 times before we settled. They threw in prices with all the add-​ons that they want you to buy — the extra coverage, the remote start, blah blah blah. That wasn’t in my original plan, it wasn’t what I wanted and when they showed numbers with those features we just said no thanks, we want the car as is, let’s focus on that. It was clear to us they had to try those things out on us, and it was clear to them that we simply weren’t interested. At no point did I feel like they pushed it further or were disrespectful about it.
It seems like the negative reviews come from people who walk in without a clear plan and focus on what you want. Salesman of any trade can sniff that out from a mile away, and of course they’re going to try and upsell you and show you different models and trims and packages and all that other crap — that’s what they do for a living. Respect the process!
My advice for anyone purchasing a new vehicle is to do your research and know exactly what you want. At no point throughout this transaction did I, or my dad, waiver on what we wanted. No, we did not want to see other CX-5’s, no, we did not want the extras. We came for one car and one car only — it was this car or no car.
The whole process took exactly 3 hours and they recommended the Fudrucker’s down the street for a burger. Everyone walked away happy. Marty promised me they would make it as efficient as possible, and I’ve gotten say he kept his word. Thanks gentlemen!

Unfortunately, I went into the dealership, lured by the fact that it was a convenient drive and near Woodfield Mall. Here’s a list of what happened there (I’m still shaking my head):
1. The first thing I asked was to see a listing of what CX-5’s were in stock at that dealership because I was already 100% familiar with the car. His shocking response? «We don’t have any of our cars in our computer system and besides that, the inventory system isn’t up to date». I literally started laughing and asked how I can search his inventory online but HE couldn’t AT the dealership? I got an open-​mouthed 1000-​mile stare and he ignored the question. Strike 1: He thinks people are dumb.
2. «Let me explain all the details about this car» after I told him I’ve test-​driven it, got all the details at the Auto Show, and explained that THIS is the car I want and don’t need anything explained to me. I was ready to BUY and he was ready to complete a checklist his manager gave him in Sales 101. Strike 2: Doesn’t listen to the customer.
3. He said, «Let’s go for a drive» without explaining WHERE we were going. We ended up driving to the lot (we could have walked faster) where he tried unsuccessfully to upgrade me to a Grand Touring, telling me he can sell me one for the price of a Touring. He couldn’t do that, not even if it was stripped down. His negative attitude was making me want to leave the dealership.
4. Pushed a notebook at me when he «had to go away for a minute», telling me to check out the awards they won for customer service. Um… well, I’m looking at all the one-​star reviews in Unilocal and Edmunds and don’t see how that’s possible that you won any awards for customer service. Then his sales manager stepped over. How convenient.
5. The Sales Mgr. asked me what they can do to get my business and I simply said, «Give me a price that’s lower than every other dealership». The sales person kept telling me I’m not going to buy a car on price alone and I kept having to re-​assure him, «Oh yes I definitely AM.» He couldn’t understand that I didn’t give a hoot about their customer service and told him I’d always have it serviced near the city. What Chicago resident would go to Schaumburg to get an oil change when they could go to a local dealership nearer the city? They ignored me and stuck to the checklist in their heads. VERY frustrating.
I ended up leaving in disgust after the Sales Mgr. threw a low-​ball offer at me with no details and he walked away with a sour look on his face. Didn’t mention whether it included rebates, incentives, nothing. Just kept asking how they could earn my business. Strike 3: Again, not listening and paying no attention to what the customer is asking. They may as well have been reading off cue cards. He could have had a sale right there if they were being honest with me.
I should have known when it took them 2 days to respond to my initial email inquiry (all other dealerships responded within 9 – 12 hours) that something was up. Then they said the email was lost. They emailed me at 12:55am on a Tuesday after I visited them on Saturday. I responded at 11:27am on a Tuesday and they didn’t get back to me until Thursday at 2:45pm. Asked me once again how they can earn my business, so I asked for the low-​ball quote in an email and he seemed good with that (that guy never responded again). Then yet another dealership employee emailed me with a generic letter, obviously not knowing the other 2 employees have been in contact with me. None of them acknowledged the low-​ball offer and obviously had NO intention of honoring it.
In conclusion: I bought a CX-​5 from Roto Mazda yesterday, where they’re very up front, honest, and tell you exactly what you need to know, immediately. There is no screwing around, and no one throws phrases at you from Sales 101 in 1982. Another great place was CJ Wilson Mazda who gave me a great price, but Roto met that price. Wilkins was a very close 3^rd. All honest. I will never get back the 2 hours I spent at Napleton, but it WAS a learning experience!
