I can’t say enough glowing things about Jeff and Laurie. What a fantastic team! As a service professional myself, I tend to be hard on other service professionals, but I am just thrilled with the work they did for my husband and me as we sold our home in Schaumburg and purchased a home in Palatine.
On the sale side, we were upside-​down on our mortgage, so we absolutely had to get top dollar. We interviewed several other agents, some of whom we knew were trying to low-​ball the list price for our home to force a quick sale. But Jeff took tons of time to walk through our house and work with us to develop an aggressive pricing and marketing strategy. I’m happy to report that all that work paid off — we had 8 showings in the first two days and were under contract in 36 hours within 1% of our list price. Jeff helped us navigate all of the tricky parts of selling a home. He made sure everything went smoothly and coached us every step of the way.

Did you ever wish that your best friend was a real estate agent, so that you could put your trust in them completely and know that they would do whatever it takes to see that your real estate transaction went smoothly? I didn’t have the luxury of a best friend as agent, but listing my home with Laurie & Jeff Asquith was certainly the next best thing.
As a recent widow, selling my 1970’s Schaumburg home was a scary prospect. I invited Jeff and Laurie over to tell me why they should be hired as listing agents. An hour later I knew every detail about their marketing plan, and had many questions answered about the sales process. These people know their stuff!
I received advice on the best use of my money to repair/​remodel a few eyesores or minor maintenance issues. They helped me to find contractors to deal with the jobs, and even showed up to let them in to work, after I moved out of state. When my neighbors experienced basement flooding in heavy rainstorms, the Asquiths came by to make sure my basement was safe and dry.
The sales process was extremely smooth. I received excellent guidance throughout the negotiations, the contract, the results of the less than perfect home inspection, and the closing.
Jeff and Laurie may not be my imaginary best friend, but I am convinced that they did whatever it would take to sell my home. I could tell you some stories :) They were amazingly helpful with EVERYTHING that needed to be done at the house.
Knowledgeable, professional, friendly down to earth people. I would not hesitate to list with them again, and if I were not living in a another state I would hire them as a buyer’s agent. They will be the standard by which I judge future real estate agents!

Jeff and Laurie are a couple of the best Realtors one could ask for. I could go on and on about these two, but I will keep it as brief as I can for now.
I came to them, 20 years old and looking to purchase my first property. A lot of realtors may have been leery about my level of seriousness to buy, thinking I may just be a «tire kicker» and a waist of their time. Jeff and Laurie didn’t hesitate at all and we started the home buying process immediately.
After finding out I wouldn’t be able to receive a mortgage due lack of credit, I was forced to pay cash for my home, limiting my options drastically. We ended up looking for foreclosed properties (HUD to make things worse). During the search, not once did Jeff try to push me into a property I wasn’t comfortable with. He would give me the pros and cons of each property, and his evaluation of what he valued the property at. Once we found the property I liked, we submitted a bid and won! Jeff stayed on HUD the whole way to make sure the property closed in a timely manner, and that’s very hard to do with HUD.
I am very very happy about the purchase and would not change a single thing about my whole experience with them. I was treated as if I was buying an expensive luxury home. Even after being in my home for a couple months, I still call them and they are more than happy to answer any questions I have. They will definitely be getting my business in the future and will be referred to all my family/​friends and my customers.

Have you ever seen listing photos and wondered what the owner and the realtor were thinking? You know the photos I mean; counters cluttered, toilet seats left up, beds unmade (or my favorite — laundry dumped on a bed) Have you read listing descriptions that tell you nothing about the property other than the number of bedrooms and baths? If that is the type of lackluster service you expect to receive from a realtor you will be amazed at the service provided by the Home Duo!
We first met Jeff & Laurie in 2004 when they represented our daughter and son-​in-​law in a sale & purchase. During those transactions and our daughter’s subsequent sale in 2008 we became very familiar with Jeff and Laurie’s work. After seeing how responsive and professional they were we never seriously considered listing our home with anyone else.
We knew in 2008 that we would be selling and sought Jeff’s advice on timing. Since there was no immediate need to sell, we opted to wait until market conditions improved. We kept in touch and Jeff’s knowledge of the local market and, most importantly, current appraisal practices was invaluable in our planning. In September 2012, we told Jeff that we planned to list the house for Spring 2013; we discussed the then market, with Jeff and Laurie, took their advice and listed our home rather than waiting until Spring. There was an immediate good deal of interest which we attribute to Jeff’s carefully staged photos and Laurie’s delightful description of our home.
We understand our experience was unusual for these times, but we were in contract in a week and closed a month after we listed the house!
Jeff was great in negotiating a favorable selling price and kept us informed throughout the sales process.

I worked with Laurie and it was the very best real estate transaction I have had. she was prompt, responsive and honest. Above all I appreciated her being up front and honest with me. I always felt like she was on our side and not just looking for the largest commission possible. Anyone working with a shark realtor knows what I mean. She has been great, even post-​closing. Although we did not hire her for renting the property, she has been more than generous with answering questions and offering rental advice.
