JCPenney Salon

I finally found a knowledgeable and dependable salon! I would highly recommend, my stylist Jeni does a great Job and all of the staff is friendly and welcoming. They keep up with the latest hair trends and are also very good with up-​dos, coloring, and cuts.

I stopped in here to buy some hair product (I’d have my first haircut in IL somewhere else and while I was happy with the haircut, not really the stylist).
The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and nice, and while ringing me up, they ended up mentioning that they thing I would love James.
I stopped back to ask some questions after buying some shoes, and got to meet James. I asked when I could book a haircut and he had time for me right then. We hit it off amazingly, and he gave me full foil highlights. I absolutely love them, I think he did a really great job with the color — though some of the placement of highlights isn’t perfect (I only have one red in my bangs, on one side). On a scale of 1 — 10 on how big a problem it is, it’s like a .25. I noticed 3 weeks later, was slightly annoyed, but I LOVE my highlights, and I plan on going back for a haircut soon.
At every salon, some people are great and some aren’t. I found James to be a knowledgeable and fabulous professional who gave me great service for a reasonable price. I’ll definitely be back.

My credit card number was stolen Monday at the salon checkout at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL and fraudulently used later that evening at other stores in the mall. The store supervisor and corporate customer service representative have acted unconcerned with no follow through on looking into this further. Has this happened to anyone else? It would be really easy to see who used the number at the other shops.
This would be one star for how unresponsive the staff has been, but it gets a second star because I like my haircut I received. Too bad I can’t trust the shop to go back!

I have gone to this salon on and off for four years. I am bi-​racial and I’ve had two stylists who did great jobs relaxing my hair. This past Sunday I returned and had Peggy do a relaxer before I was having surgery. I had hope to have no fuss hair while I recovered. My hair felt the same when I left as it did when I came out. I was very disappointed when I called her to ask what happened and she said, «It wasn’t ‘smooth smooth’ but it was smoother than when you came in. She was a very nice woman but she had a timer going and I don’t think she left the relaxer on long enough, nor did she go through and smooth the wavy parts of my hair. I paid for a flat iron and she didn’t take the time to go through and flat iron my hair all the way through. She might be better with other types of hair, but I will not be running to return to this salon.

This is a very reasonably priced salon. I think its a good place to go for a quick cut, but I wouldnt really recommend it for a color job. Its a nice salon but the people at it sometimes seem a bit confused.
