I went here on a Saturday night for dinner, and was very impressed! The owners were very friendly, the portions were amazing for the price, the presentation was nice, it was very cheap, and the food was delicious! Even though my boyfriend and I went at 7 on a Saturday, we were the only ones there– not even carry-out orders were placed. This was a bit sad because I think they deserve way more customers! I ordered the chicken ramen, which was delicious! They included lots of veggies, though the chicken was a bit dry. My boyfriend had the chicken teriyaki, which he loved as well. Together, our two dishes came out to just under $ 15 and we left stuffed and happy! Would definitely recommend!

Was looking for a new asian restaurant with reasonable prices and Bento Time matched the criteria! We got our food to go. I ordered the pork katsu and got 2 pork cutlets so my husband ate what was leftover and he ordered the bulgogi. Both were very good and we want to go back to try their sushi. Its a small quaint place where we’d like to eat in next time. Definitely worth trying!

Call twice. The first time it might go to voicemail and the second time someone will answer. I got the spicy chicken teriyaki and it was amazing. The spice was a good enough kick but not crazy enough that your mouth was on fire. And for $ 5 they give you a ton!

I didn’t really care for the sushi(Shrimp tempura maki) but I had spicy beef teriyaki and my girlfriend got spicy chicken teriyaki, we both enjoyed our meal and the price was great. Would have been 5 stars if the sushi was better.

Was closed for a few weeks but now re-opened with new owners. Prices are slightly higher but portions are the same if not bigger. They also offer sushi now! I tried the spicy tuna and I loved it! It was one of the spiciest rolls I’ve had but I loved the kick. The tonkatsu(pork katsu) was HUGE. I saw him take it out of the fryer and it was the size of a dinner plate. Picture attached. Reasonable prices for good food.

So there I was, on my way to my first night of classes at Harper College and I needed some food. I passed a plaza that had a pizza joint, a chinese place, a liquor store and Bento Time. It was a bit of a tough choice, but I decided since I’ve never been in a place that sells both Korean food and Gyros, I HAD to try it. I ordered the chicken stir fry with narrow noodles. It was hot, fresh and yummy. Plenty of fresh veggies in a nice sauce, and not too oily. You can bet I’ll be going back to try the spicy chicken bowl next week!

I’m not sure if I went out here too late at night or maybe just caught them at a bad time because my experience wasn’t as good as most of the other reviewers. The shrimp tempura udon was okay. Not too salty and an okay choice of vegetable fillers. The tempura was not crispy however. The tonkatsu was the best dish I ate. In fact, it’s one of the best I’ve found locally so far with a nice tangy sauce and very crispy pork. This one item is worth a visit. The beef teriyaki was pretty good in texture and taste, but it was so excessively sauced that I couldn’t enjoy it that much. I do know a lot of people that love to mix huge amounts of sauce with a bit of rice though, so if you’re one of those people this is perfect for you. The beef shortrib was very disappointing. The texture made it seem quite overcooked and the amount of sauce on it was excessive. It also came to me kind of cool as if it’d been prepared before and simply microwaved. The taste was pretty good however. The chicken wings were pretty crispy although a bit overcooked. They were not marinated heavily like what you find in some other local Korean or Japanese restaurants. Despite my mixed experience, the price is good for what you get here so I’ll probably give it another try soon. It took a while for them to cook though since I think a lot of these items had to be made from scratch.

This little Japanese/fast food eatery is quite the find. They serve delicious Japanese/Korean/chinese food and burgers. Their shrimp tempura is pretty good. Their tonkatsu is delicious. Their udon noodle soup is tasty. Gonna try their gyros next time. Would recommend this place for a quick bite.

This place has one of the most ecletic menus I’ve ever seen. Teriaki chicken is awesome. You can also order a burger. Took a friend here when he didn’t know what he wanted, because their menu is so great. And the service is nice too. Tables are small, but I usually get it to go.

I heard good things about this place from Unilocal community, so I thought I would stop by for lunch. I got teriyaki chicken and my bf got a beef teriyaki burger +fries and a medium drink. We paid about 13 bucks for what we got. For me it was just okay even though I was a big fan of teriyaki chicken. Bottled drinks were expensive and I had to share with my bf. The restaurant was clean and nice though. I’m not sure if I want to go again, but it was worth to try.

Little gem in Schaumburg. I found this place through Unilocal. Was a great place for to go order for lunch or early dinner. I always have their rice bowl(with mixing chicken teriyaki and veggie), it fills up my tummy immediately and it costs me just a few bucks OMG what a great deal. Their beef udon is not bad too. Their java coffee smoothies is also so special, i always order it with my rice bowl. There is only a few small tables though as their major customers are on the take out side. But still you can dine in if you prefer(with no waiter service).

I went here a few weeks ago with my friends, they went there before and suggested it. I got the chicken katsu bowl, it came in a cute bowl with rice, it was the perfect potion for me but it definitely not the best i’ve had, the sauce was okay. I also tried their zygonza, it was tasty. I also tried their strawberry banana shake, not good. it was more banana than strawberry, i didnt like it. i do want to go back here though and try something else can’t wait!

Stopped by Bento Time for lunch because of the Unilocaler’s reviews. I had the Tonkatsu with rice and an egg roll. The tonkatsu was thin and crispy as it should be and the portion was just right. There wasn’t really any fat on it either like some places. My buddy ordered the spicy seafood ramen noodle soup. He enjoyed and was happy to report that it was actually spicy as advertised. I would definitely come back here to try some of the other menu items like the pulled pork and hawaiian ribeye sandwich just to see how good they are. I think the Mitsuwa’s ramen soups are better than Bento, but Mitsuwa is much more expensive. So Bento gets the 4th star because of the value. GOODFOODWITHGOODPRICES.

Unsure of what type of food you’re in the mood for? Hate always being the one to make the decision? Well, look no further! ‘Bento Time’, what do you initially think when you read that name? Bento=Japanese? Time=(endless meanings) and you’re right. This place is like a mystery. Yes, they do serve some Japanese dishes but on the side of their menu’s you’ll see other items that are not normally offered in a ‘Japanese’ type setting. As you park your car in the lot, you already see how small this place is. Walking into the entry way and making our way towards the counter wasn’t bad. Take one look and you can see about 6 tables seating max 4 per table. We ordered the Chicken Teriyaki, Gyoza Platter, Shrimp Tempura Udon, and of course Egg Rolls. When the food was prepared, we were given a tray with it packed in styrofoam containers as if we ordered it togo. It was convienient and I don’t mind eating in a container over a plate(what’s the diff? you’re going to pack it up anyway) –Chicken Teriyaki: BF got it spicy which I’m not fond of, but besides that, it was good. –Gyoza PLatter: HOTHOTHOT. We had it deep-fried and my little girl loved it. We ordered the large size(12 pieces) and she ate nearly half! –Shrimp Tempura Udon: It was served traditionally with all the fixing, but it was still good. It sure was hot(temp wise) for me to eat. –Egg Rolls: Yes, I paid $ 1.25 to try them out and when I saw them, immediately I thought«that’s huge!»(twss!) It was filled with meat and veggies. Most places cheat you and fill it will just veggies and still call it «pork» inside… Though we ordered mainly Japanese dishes, they did serve Chicken Teriyaki sandwiches, grilled cheese, gyros, mozzarella sticks, etc. Crazy right? Well, now I know of a place that is so universal that I don’t have to «think» of places to go anymore. Downside to this place is that there were no public restrooms. You can’t expect a place this small to have one, but if you’re dining in with kids, be cautious. I think this place would be nice to order take out and bring home these interesting meal choices. So glad this place is down the street from me.

Like the first reviewer suggested, my mind exploded a bit trying to grasp what Bento Time served. Japanese? Korean? Greek? Regardless of the confusion, my first trip there was a treat. I ordered stir fry noodles with beef(spicy), and I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was. My friend tried the pulled pork, and that was just as tasty. The price is just right for their dishes. I saw a Chicken Teriyaki Bowl for $ 3.95, so I think I’ll have to try that next time. What a great deal in these tough economic times! As for atmosphere, this is more of a take-out place as they only have about six tables. The room is a little cold, but at least it’s clean and looks nice. I’ll definitely be coming back here again!

This is my first time to order food for carry out from Bento time, it’s surprised me! Food is good, and cheap! They have sandwishes, Gyros, salad, Japanese style fried noodles, Japanese undo and ramen noodle soup, the most important thing is… the price is very cheap, I had Kabi today and it comes with rice, egg roll and salad, only 6.95 dollars something, they also have chicken tereyake rice bowl for only 3.95! It’s even better you get a burger from McDonalds! Bento time will be my lunch take out place in the future!
