Avis Nails

If I could give this place less than one star I would. Me and a friend went in (as a last resort) to get a full set ($ 25) and fill ins/​pedicure ($ 39)
As we got them done m friend and I were talking and not paying attention. THEY DID THEM TERRIBLY. as you can see from the pictures I will not be going back. ever. and I would like my money refunded.

The manager has the worst customer service I’ve ever seen. He will take a walk in before a scheduled appointment if the service cost is more. I waited 30 minutes, while I saw walk-​in appointments being serviced before me because all I wanted was a fill. Will not return!!!

I love Avis Nails! I have yet to have a bad experience. Tammi is the one who always does my nails after the girl I used to go to all the time, left and she does an outstanding job. She takes her time and my no chip manicure always lasts about 3 – 4 weeks. The owners are also awesome and always remember me and make sure that I was satisfied with my nails before I even leave the salon.

Wouldn’t go back. People nice enough, but tools not clean, not even the bowl my nails soaked in was clean. When I said I didn’t want my cuticles clipped because the clipper was dirty, no attempt was made to get a clean one and no price adjustment made and she didn’t even push them back, even after I asked twice (unusually bad language barrier). Wound up filing my own nails because she was filing the sides so thin and on such an angle, I can’t even guess what shape she was aiming for. And the no chip is thick and clumpy, I can tell it’s going to pop at the corners. All that and it took over an hour with all the waiting here and there.

Seriously my pedicure was done in 20 mins. Forgot to do half the things on my left foot that they did on my right. My kid was started on at the same time I was and done after me.
Total waste. And when I complained I was told they did the same on both feet.

I took my niece in here for her birthday! Avi «ivy» took us right away. I thought she did an excellent job. Tito did my pedicure and with anyone with beat up feet I would highly recommend him! The salon was well kept! I took off one star because I had to ask the Tech to change the towel. Overall I will be returning!

The guy (scar on left side of his face) who does the nails at this place SUCKS! No conversation! RUDE! Ask him a question won’t answer! I did the no chip, and when I tell you it was a thin layer of polish it was thin, he refused to out on an extra coat! My nails are so rough like they need to be filed, but he said it was totally fine, uugghhhh this place pissed me off so bad, please don’t go there! And if you do go to anyone but him!

I came here for a walk in pedicure with a friend. I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and professional my nail technician was. She was thorough but gentle, thankfully, as my feet are sensitive to the poking and prodding of a pedicure! The price was reasonable, and they were accommodating for my requested color combination.
I recommend seeing Lee-​A (I didn’t catch how to spell your name, sorry!)

I’ve never really had a real mani-​pedi besides once at a salon for a friend’s birthday but after finishing my first year college finals I really decided I needed to de-​stress myself for summer break & treat myself out!
I went to Woodfield to do some shopping but decided to stop here on my way out.
It IS decently small, but not too cramped. A pretty decent size for a inside mall nail salon.
It was a very simple, & quick process.
The man who did my nails conversated well & it was a nice experience! $ 34 for regular mani-​pedi.
Many times I believe people take workers talking in their own language the wrong way because a lady next to me got very annoyed…
Being half Vietnamese I do not find it annoying at all. (I can’t speak Vietnamese myself) …Moreover I find it annoying that other people think it’s disrespectful for them to speak in their native language when most of them probably have broken English.
This place simply gets the job done, & that’s that. I’m not picky & I will definitely stop by again whenever I’m in the mall!
I would recommend getting your nails done by the men over the women as they seemed more attentive to details & loved to conversate.
Both my mom & sister asked me if I got gel nails when it was just a regular mani-​pedi!

The first time I came here it was great, but every time it gets worse. I kid you not, exactly a week ago I got a non chip manicure and it started chipping three days ago. The lady that did my manicure used the wrong color and I didn’t realize it until it was already baked on my nails. To get it taken off, there would be an extra charge. On top of that, she only put 2 coats and it was a light color, and you can still see the white part of my nails. Overall, I realized the women that do the no chip don’t to a great job and to stick with the men that do it. I had a great pedicure, but I am still never going back.

First time I’ve had my nails done by a guy, but he did a good job with my manicure and pedicure. Originally I wanted a French tip and then I was advised there was an additional fee. For no chip polish, another extra charge. I’ll end up paying $ 68 if I had all of that done, so I just decided for the regular and paid only $ 34.
If the polish chips, I’ll just buy the nail polish at Ulta for $ 8.50 and retouch it myself.

I went here yesterday after doing a little shopping. I got the fill in and pedicure deal for $ 38. I had two different techs but both were equally nice. Im not used to nail techs who actually have a conversation with their customers so this was a pleasant surprise for me. The atmosphere was positive and it was breathable, i wasn’t expecting that since it is located in a busy mall. I would return if I’m in the mall.

They are a bit pricey, they charge for literally any little thing.
BUT I always come out happy and satisfied with how my nails turn out, not the price so much, but that’s okay! I’d rather pay a little extra for gorgeous nails than less for hideous ones. Beauty comes at a price!
They have always took their time with me and they have tons and tons and tonnnsssss of colors and designs which I love because I can always find the perfect color/​design

I’ve officially been to 2 out of the 3 nail places in Woodfield. So far this one blows the one by Subway out of the water. Seriously I don’t know any of the places by their names… all I know is the one by Stir Crazy, the one by Subway and the one by Nordstrom.
I’m kind of clausterphobic so the one by Nordstrom scares the crap out of me because it looks like people are crammed in there like sardines. The one by Subway. with the exception of the metro looking guy with grey tips, the rest of them are rude.
I tried Avis nails because it’s near my fiancé’s favorite place… Oriental Chi. We swap each other out, he gets a massage for 30 minutes, I get a pedicure for 30 minutes while we watch our 3 year old at the playground.
Danny did my nails her and she was fantastic. I have terrible in grown toenails and she dug them out as well as scraped off 3 million layers of dead skin. I was embarrassed when I went in but she laughed it off. The chairs work, she made my water warmer and did a great job. I tipped her $ 10 and she wasn’t rude and actually spoke to me instead of talking to a co worker nearby and making me feel insecure. I love this place and I’ll be back.
Also I conversed with the lady next to me and you can request the person you’d like. That’s awesome because I feared going back to the place by Subway for fear some catty woman with attitude and a razor was going to take a whack at my feet. I loved that Avis Nails treats everyone nice whether you’re in for a mani, pedi, over weight, over tired, your feet look like crap… they’re happy to take your money and make you happy. That’s all I care. Take care of my feet and you get a $ 10 tip, pure and simple. Take that… place by Subway… you lost me forever.

Me: Both…
Greeter: Pick yo color?
That was it pretty much…

I went on Thursday, right after having a massage at the Oriental Chi. This was a spontaneuos decision as I decided to walk in as I was leaving the mall! I should’ve just kept on walking.
It was a promising start when I noticed the Nail Techinican’s nicely pedicured nails of purple. Her finger nails were naked but I can see they were well cared for. I thought it was representative of the type of service I would receive. I was sadly mistaken.
I splurged for a $ 38 spa pedi/​mani treatment. The nail polish was painted on so thick it didn’t dry properly.
Like KJ, the nail tech used my own flip flops with the toenail spreader still on! I’m glad I wore my more flexible cheap brand or they would’ve been damaged as well.
I wore sandals out to dinner with friends that evening. I came home from to find my big toes had paint gouged away.
Good money wasted on something I could’ve just done at home.

First and last time there today. If you want a fast pedicure, come here, but keep in mind fast doesn’t always mean good. Maybe I just had a bad tech because my friend went with me, and she had a better experience. I asked her to make my big toe nail a little shorter, and she took it to mean chop the whole thing off, including skin. She then used the ingrown cutters FOUR TIMES on each foot, until there was completely nothing left. I have never had a more painful pedicure experience in my life. My right big toe is still throbbing. She didn’t take time to shape my toes, or even paint them nicely. The only thing I liked about my pedicure was the color I chose for my toes. Never again.

This was the second time I have been here, and the last time it was mediocre but fast, this time it was just mediocre.
Distracted tech that I had to redirect about getting ingrowns and missing some cuticles. She was more concerned about other conversations and how much my purse cost.
Not going there again.
