Central Taxicab Co of Scarsdale

It’s the only game in town as far as taxis at the Scarsdale train station are concerned. The cars are 20 years old but they keep the fares low and the drivers all know their way around town. They are also always punctual when picking me up for airport runs, which is critical.

I had to put my 10 year old in a cab to go home. Adam the driver was so kind and caring. On time, excellent service. Will certainly use them again.

overpriced then they will tell you call 914−423−5555 and they have no manners extremely rude myself and my coworkers could not believe it. i have to find another service to call for my patients at the office to take to the station because I definitely will not want them telling me how displeased they where with this taxi service. unbelievable and no wonder why people UBER, LYFT & GYPSY so much now a days

They were a lifesaver today. I made a reservation last night because of the predicted storm of snow/​freezing rain and having to take a roller bag for an Amtrak connection.
This morning I called to try and change my pickup and they were slammed because of the storm. But they said they would try to make it happen as soon as possible.
They did! Ray came in 10 minutes and I got on an earlier Metro North and I got a seat.
Thank you Dispatcher dude and Ray for changing what might have been a miserable start to this trip, into a great one.

I’ve used this company for many years and never had a problem until tonight. The cab driver complained that I didn’t give him a bigger tip. $ 2 on an $ 8 fare. Rude! Way to be ungrateful

I’m not sure what all the complaints are about. I’ve used Central Taxi many times over the past couple years, including rides to-​and-​from various airports in NY, and have never had any problems. It’s no limo service, but they arrive when promised and get you safely where you’re going.
I’ll update this review when-​and-​if I experience anything like the problems described by others here. But as of today, based on my many experiences, the service has been fine.

Central Taxi of Scarsdale has no problem emailing your monthly invoice to complete strangers. I have received the monthly statement of someone else who’s name is similar to mine several times over the past year. If I were inclined to mischief, I could use that invoice to plan a robbery of the person’s home when I know that she is unlikely to be around.
I informed Central Taxi every time I received an erroneous mailing, but they still persist in sending that stranger’s personal information to me. In July a representative of Central Taxi responded to my repeated emails by suggesting that I was somehow at fault for their having my email on file. He wrote: «If this email has nothing to do with with this account, just out of curiosity, how did we get it???»
if I lived anywhere near Scarsdale, I would never consider using Central Taxi. Surely there are other ways to get around Scarsdale? I hope readers will take the alternatives seriously.

I have called for an early morning pick up several times, of which I have to take an earlier train because «They don’t do pick ups for the 614a train» (what «taxi» company doesn’t do a pick up as requested?) after being outside 25 minutes early waiting for the car to come at the top of my drive and no show on there part and this has happened TWICE! you cant call because there is no dispatcher at that time of the morning. I called yesterday evening to book a car for this morning, requesting that they tell me the exact time I need to be outside BECAUSE they’ve been a no show not once but twice, the pleasurable dispatcher tells me not to get aggressive with him and was more worried about why I didn’t complain earlier about the no shows, oh yeah they hung up on me TWICE! Great service!
I want to find another cab company to use in Scarsdale and don’t care if I have to pay more money because I would be willing to do so for a peace of mind that I know someone is going to pick me up, there is a dispatcher there when and if I have a problem and they speak to you with some sort of dignity.

The man running the show is a disrespectful animal who is unbeleivibly rude and not compassionate for other’s lives, and their need to get to their job on time in order to put food on the table. Several times I’ve called for a cab and when I call because they never show up, he tells me they have been waiting several minutes for me when it is humanly impossible for a cab to show up outside my door when it only takes seconds for me to get outside, not to mention that he ‘couldn’t make any promises” to get me to the train in time which means I would have to wait at least 10 to 14 minutes for the cab to come. In this time, I could have walked nd made the train! He toys off the handle and hangs up on me when I call back and does nothing to fix the situation. There is absolutely no customer service here so I recommend not living near this station if you plan to move to Scarsdale. It is a shame that one of the most prestigious areas to live has such a terrible taxi system. Avoid this company at all costs.

Nothing good to say about this cab company. Almost everyone except for the females that work here are rude. I called half an hour ahead of time and they wrote down the wrong information, so I missed my train and I was completely late for work

The dispatcher is one of the rudest men I’ve ever encountered. He barks orders at customers and the drivers like an f-​ing dictator. And recently, the cab came early, left before I was outside, and when I called for another one, the asshole dispatcher asked, «Why should I? Where are you going to be THIS time?». He talked to me like I was a child, and after yelling at me some more, I finally said to forget it and I would find another ride. His response? «GOOD» and HUNG UP on me. Are you kidding me, douchewad?
No, seriously. Please avoid if you can!!! This cab company is atrocious.

Driver showed up over 30 minutes late to pick up my mother to drive her to my apt in manhattan for thanksgiving. He got lost and had no idea on how to get into Manhattan. Worse, he was abusive and dismissive to my mom and then to me me when I talked to him on the phone to give him directions to 5^th Avenue and 11^th St. He showed up an hour later and gave me more attitude when I paid him.
When I called dispatcher to complain she was even more dismissive and abusive saying that it was not her drivers responsibility to know lower Manhattan!!! Then she said that I must be a sad lonely man to call on thanksgiving to complain about such petty thing. saying «she got there didn’t she?».
My family has lived in Scarsdale for over 100 years and has been forced used Central Taxi for decades (monopoly). But never ever again. They do not have a clue as to deal respecfully with customers.
