Perfect place for the kids haircuts. TVs, trains and toys keep them busy before during and after the cut.

I walked in with my 2 year old granddaughter today & were taken immediately. Girl who cut her hair was friendly & asked her what she would like to watch on the little TV. It was a great experience– only thing is she would have loved a sticker or lollipop at the end. She’s use to getting something at the end of her haircut. They also have a lot of toys for sale which I didn’t care for because it can lead to some melt downs from kids not getting what they want. Overall good experience– we will be back. Haircut was $ 25

Having been to many kid’s salons/barbers I can say this is my favorite. I would even say it verges on a pleasant experience to take my two preschoolers here for a haircut. And as a dad who is giving up part of his Saturday for said activity, that is just about the highest compliment I can think of. As the other reviewers said, the staff is gentle, kind, and very good with children. The haircuts are very good and they listen to what you want. The noise level, stimulation, etc. is moderate to low, which is great because you KNOW what the experience can be like at one of those chain places. The shop is cute, neat, tidy, and inviting. It is usually easy to get an appointment, even on a weekend, and the rates are competitive. We come here for every haircut and we don’t even live nearby.

Pitiful. I am new to the area and was looking for a place to bring my 2 and a half year old son. I drove past and decided to check it out. The place is fun inside and inviting to children however, the woman who cut my sons hair needed a step by step tutorial on how to cut it. I am not a beautician by any means, but I can tell if something is off. I had to have her touch it up when she was done. A few months later, he was ready for a trim. My husband brought him back to the same place and I should’ve known better. She completely butchered my sons hair. My son has gorgeous blonde curls and I like to show them off while he is still young enough to do so. So I like his hair a little fuller. My husband conveyed this to the beautician but she did not follow his instructions. My son is now sporting a bowl haircut. It is extremely short and tapered all the way around his head and longer and quite crooked on top. I’m not sure that this woman knows how to cut hair at all. Just because they are children and it is a themed salon does not mean you can just give a sub par haircut. I will be waiting impatiently for his hair to grow back and when the time comes I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Wow — I had a completely different experience than the previous reviewer. My son is 3 years old and has a lot of sensory processing issues. Haircuts are usually a nightmare, with me holding him down while he shrieks hysterically. I decided to try this place because the other kids’ place in Scarsdale is great, but it’s also crowded, noisy and overwhelming for him. The haircut he had at Happy Kids was the first one that he managed to handle alone(without sitting on my lap), and he didn’t even cry! The stylist was very understanding and soothing with him, and gave him a really nice haircut. The owner was also friendly. Headed back for our back-to-school cut soon.
