2ND Time Around

I consigned few items here. Half of them were sold so that was OK.
However, when I purchased a bag from the store, I realized the low quality of their business standard.
The bag had 2 shopping receipts in its interior pocket!
The trash from former owner.
And even worse, a wrapper of a gum was in the main conpartment.
Don’t they ever check their item before putting them on the store shelf to sell???
I am aware that I’m buying a second-​handed bag, but I don’t want to be reminded that in this way. So dissapointed.

Bought a few things here, nothing great. I consigned when they first opened it was fine. But recently I tried consigning few things, they gave one item back it was a mess not even in a bag and they lost a pair of shoes. I should have just gone to good will. The amateurish manager had the nerve to argue with me that my items were returned. She is not going to make it in Scarsdale with an attitude like that and poor customer service. Second Time Around is like the Kmart of consignment… go to ebay or Greenwich for good designer clothing and accessories.

I wanted to like this store. My elderly mother-​in-​law made two purchases here. She is almost 90 years old, she lives nearby, and her mind isn’t what it used to be. At the beginning of the year she purchased 4 inch platform sandals (she has trouble walking safely in flat shoes). The salesperson wasn’t smart enough to redirect her to something she could actually WEAR! The second, and most recent purchase was a see-​through lace shirt from J Crew. which fit her snugly and which wouldn’t withstand the washing and drying the item would require. When I went to bring it back to the store, the 20 something salesperson was indignant, told me my mother-​in-​law looked nice in the shirt and wanted it. I told her about the shoes, and the shirt, and she told me she was sorry to hear about «my problems» (i.e. a relative with dementia) and everything was final sale — always! Generally speaking, that’s not how folks who shop in stores which sell Prada Bags are used to being spoken to… Will never set foot in there again, and will certainly never donate anything. And will now have to instruct my mother-​in-​law not to shop there…

If you value your designer duds and want to get them back if they don’t sell – stay far away from this place! They lost a Diane Von Furstenberg dress of mine and then when I called they either didn’t pick up the phone or when I did get someone they said they would call me back and never did (three times). If I stopped by the store they told me to come back-​twice and my dress is still MIA. They also gave me someone else clothes in the items they did return so if someone wants their Gucci Sunglasses back, I have them. Maybe you are wearing my missing dress.
I wish I could give thumbs down along with one star because I am so disappointed in this place. Especially since I bought a lot of clothes here before I tried selling. All I know is that I am not going back.
