Nice people, good selection, fair prices, and they have day old breads that are great also.

This is a quirky little thrift shop. Unlike the big box thrift shops, it has that feeling of being able to find something that will blow you away. I suggest you check it out, if you are in the mood for such things. BTW I tend to avoid Value Village, they aren’t as charity(maybe 10%) as most other thrift stores. If you want a big box(more neat and organized than here) go to Goodwill.

Every few months we take a drive along Highway 30 from Portland to Astoria and visit the thrift shops in Columbia and Clatsop counties. The Scappoose Senior Thrift Shop is always on our list. The selection is surprisingly good for a small shop, the staff are helpful and often willing to negotiate if an item has been in stock for longer than a month. This shop is not the most organized and not everything is modern and new(which I prefer) but if you have the patience to dig a bit you can find some real gems. Sections include — housewares, collectibles, home décor, art, craft/sewing supplies, toys/games, hardware section, furniture, back room STUFFED with apparel for both men and women, vinyl records, VHS and DVDs, holiday and more. The folks that work here are all seniors, the profits go to help seniors in the community, and the prices are very reasonable(read: cheap). Great blog piece(with photos) by a young mother of four — check it out: Good to know: They have a small parking lot behind the shop, take cash only, are closed on Sundays and closed on all major holidays(and a few lesser ones). Call before you go to be sure they are open.
