The Bed & Breakfast is in an 1835 house in the heart of Saxonburg PA. The building as been updated to include four guest rooms to choose from. All guest rooms have private bathrooms, hair dryers, iron & ironing board, satellite TV, wireless internet access. Jim and Brian are co owners of the Mainstay. Jim has a background in hotel management and interior design. Brian’s career path has been in restoration. Together they have brought the Mainstay to a new level similar to that of a boutique hotel.

Jim and Bentley (the resident dog) were phenomenal hosts. Both are very friendly and keep the atmosphere light and fun. Their company at breakfast and conversation were great and made our stay memorable.
The hotel is very quaint and its old colonial charm was well maintained. We stayed in the Florida suite, which was very nice… removed from the rest of the building off an upstairs deck out of the back. The extra seclusion was perfect for us.
It should be noted that the hotel is extremely clean. In the time that we stayed, I did not find a single dog hair on my clothing… which is remarkable given Bentley’s curiousity and welcoming sniffs every time we returned.
