History

Established in 2010.

originally established as The Saxapahaw Artists Co-​Op gallery, the gallery has had many problems with landlords in Saxapahaw. After fixing up the 1st space, the landlords moved the gallery into another location 2 doors down that required extensive renovation– In June 2012 the SaxArt Gallery reopened in an amazing new space. Now just one year later, the landlords have refused to fix leaking roofs and black mold issues. Art and water do not mix so the Gallery has closed in it’s Sellars

Building location and has taken temporary residence at the Aya Fiber Studio on Moores Chapel Cemetary Road until permanent gallery space can be found.

How can I be the first to write a review for them? I feel honored. Honestly.
Appreciate art? Take the long, beautiful drive out to the Saxapahaw Artist Gallery. There is something for everyone. The building is old and artsy in it’s own right – the historic Sellars building. I believe the artists themselves staff it. Go during one of their events and you will be oh, so pleasantly surprised. There is usually music which delights.
There is just so so so so much talent displayed here. I adore coming here and supporting local artists. It’s a wide variety including all sorts of mediums and subject matters.
My only con would be I really wish they would not allow smoking outside at the entrance. If you have asthma like I do, it really makes it hard to enjoy stopping in if they are lighting up outside.
