Got take out from here last week and the food was great. They run out of some things later in the night, but are happy to work with you. After picking up my food I want to go hang out there next time while I eat — everyone was so friendly and fun. Cozy inviting little spot along an alley. But about the food: ribs were awesome, but next time I’m getting the sauce in the side — just a personal taste thing though, it was strong. The ribs themselves were amazingly meaty and awesome. Omg the cabbage and collards were to die for, and the mac ‘n cheese was pretty standard. This place is so affordable for what it is! An awesome delicious hole-in-the-wall(in a good way) bbq joint.

Absolutely I best soul food I have ever had. They were incredibly sweet to us. Wish I lived here and could eat there all the time.

Have you ever dreamed of having a home cooked southern meal… I had because I’m Hispanic from Miami and my grandmother had no idea what collard greens were. Well that dream came true when I walked in to the small dining room at Wall’s BBQ. You literally feel like you got invited to lunch at your friend’s grandma’s house. Where her son offers you homemade fresh sweet tea or lemonade — both of which are perfectly tart and sweet and full of goodness. Then you try her food… oh the ribs, they were smokey and tender and juicy, and meaty so good. The shredded pork was so flavorful and delicious as well. For sides we tried the potatoe salad, the ocra and tomatoes, the tomatoe rice, the candied yams, and the macaroni and cheese — all delicious. My favorite side was the potatoe salad, my least favorite the Tomatoe Rice. For desert we had the pound cake, it was amazingly soft and fresh. This place is so worth getting lost looking for the alley that leads into it.

If you want amazing southern cooking you need to eat here!!! Mrs Teresa is the wonderful owner and was a pleasure to meet. Mac & cheese, collard greens were my favorite sides, that’s not saying the others are bad though. The BBQ sandwich &SAUCE was probably in the top 3 for me of ever having, it was incredible. On a second visit I had the ribs, they were amazing as well! Please support local businesses & this sweet lady!

I was told about this place before I even left for Savannah but because of my time constraints with the conference, I made them my last stop before hitting the highway home. I also planned ahead and brought my cooler and freezer packs to ensure it would survive the long drive intact. I drove up and down the streets looking for Walls but never thought to drive down the alley. I parked the car and started walking and one of the locals told me… «Son, you need to walk around to the alley to find Wall’s. If you don’t know that, you must be from out of town.» and we laughed as I told hom I was from Orlando. He looked at the cooler in my hand and said… «Son, at least you are one of the smart ones that planned ahead but you should have brought a bigger cooler.» Again we laughed and I headed to walls. Once I found the place it turned out that the hours online were wrong and they really open at noon and not 11am. I let her know that this was my last stop before heading back home and she welcomed me in. She let me know that some of the items were not quite ready and I was understanding. I went and retrieved my car that was a few blocks away and came back in. I ordered some ribs, greens and black eyed peas and a crab cake for lunch. I also had a piece of cake to go with it and some water to wash it down… Summary of lunch — Everything was delicious. My personal preference is more kick in the black eyed peas and greens but these tasted just like I was taught to make them long ago. My teacher of soul food cooking was from Valdosta, Ga and I am sure she would LOVE this place. Ribs — 5 Sauces — mild — 5 hot — 5 Collard Greens — 5 Black Eyed Peas — 5 Cake — 5 Mama was good enough to give me a couple of bags of ice to help keep everything cool I was taking back to Orlando with me. She was even kind enough to get me a zip top freezer bag to better pack everything. She even took time to tape my cooler shut to ensure everything stayed cool. I was treated like one of the family from the time I arrived until the time I left. There was a tour group that arrived just as they«officially» opened but I had already eaten and let them know how good it was before loading up and heading home. Today for lunch I sampled Potato Salad, Pulled Pork and Chicken… Potato Salad — 5 Pulled Pork — 5 Chicken — 4⁄5(breast meat was just a tad dry but the dark meat was perfect) If the worst thing I can say is that the breast meat was just a wee bit dry, that means this place rocked BIGTIME. I assure you that most would say it is fine but working a pit is a bnit of a hobby of mine so I tend to be a bit more nit picky than most… If you do not make time to come check out Wall’s BBQ… You have lost your mind because this is as good as it gets for old school down home country vittles. I do however recommend dining in and getting to know Ms. Wall and her mom over a meal… You will thank me for it…

Tasty food and friendly service. Had the ribs and pulled pork dinners — meats were tender and flavorful and not swimming in gunky, overly sweet sauces, though slightly smaller portions than I’d hoped for(two and a half ribs, cut in halves). The homemade collards and sautéed okra and tomatoes were delicious sides; the mac and cheese was OK. It is definitely off the beaten tourist path, but definitely worth stopping by for some BBQ while in Savannah.

Just what we expected in a down south BBQ joint! All about quality soul food! Their BBQ is different but AMAZING! Hubby had the Pork Sandwich and I had the Rib Dinner with Mac & Cheese, Collard Greens and Corn Bread! Too bad they were out of the Sweet Potato Pie because that would have made it perfect!

This was an awesome dinning experience. It is off the beaten tourist path but so worth looking into. I h ad the pulled pork, Cole slaw, and sautéed okra and tomatoes. It reminded me of my grandmother’s cooking. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

I hate to give my experience of the Wall’s rib plate with collards, sweet potatoes, and mac and cheese only 2 stars because of its history and the graciousness of the service, but the ribs were small, not very tasty, and they looked very gray and unappetizing. The sides were good, homemade and worth the search and askin’ around for the location. I think it was my fault because I showed up at 1:30pm when they had run out of pulled pork, devil crab, and most of the sides. Don’t try the ribs if you’ve ever eaten Memphis or Kansas City BBQ; you will be disappointed.

Absolutely delicious pulled pork sandwich! We went there on the Savannah Food Tour. Place was on a side alley and absolutely adorable. Food was home made with love.

I arrived at this little hole in the wall BBQ shack at the same time as an older gentleman, and we started talking while we waited for the doors to open at noon. We ended up having lunch together and he was kind enough to pay for my meal! Good ol’ Southern hospitality for sure! Fantastic ribs, pulled pork, and those collard greens… yum. I’ll be dreaming about those collard greens for years. The hot BBQ sauce on the table isn’t hot per se, but it’s got a nice mustardy tang that tasted great on the ribs. Don’t be afraid to pour it on!

Nice local BBQ place. Small menu of ribs, chicken and pulled pork; lots of sides. Sauces very good. We had a rib plate and a pulled pork plate. Both were excellent. Pound cake dessert with strawberries was perfect. My only disappointment is living so far away from this place. Give it a go.

Down-home legit Southern barbeque. Tried their pulled pork sandwich as part of the Savannah Taste Experience tour(also highly recommend). The pork is very moist and tasty and is best slathered in their hot tomato mustard sauce. The hot sauce is delicious and the perfect spice/heat level. Don’t be timid: pour it on. Location is unexpected and hard to find, but it’s worth seeking out for a home-style Southern meal that won’t break the budget. Pay attention to hours and be aware that they will close when they run out of barbeque rather than a particular time. It’s a small place with just a few tables and another table or two outside. Not fancy by any means.

This place is an easy five stars. Delicious food and friendly service. Our waiter couldn’t have been nicer. Seriously. We inadvertently arrived a few minutes before closing, and he still took great care of us(plenty of refills, etc). Between the five of us, we had the ribs, chopped pork, dark BBQ chicken, and a myriad of side dishes. It was all good, but my favorite was the ribs, with the chicken coming in a close second. The collard greens were delicious, but the mac and cheese was just«okay». I did feel the dinner(combo) portions were a little small, but they offer everything on the menu ala carte if you have a bigger appetite. I will be doing that next time.

As a part of the southern diaspora, I’m always on the lookout for good barbecue and soul food whenever I head south. Wall’s did not disappoint. It looked just like the small black mom & pop restaurants i grew up on, the food was as good as my grandmother’s, and the people there were friendly. I’ll definitely go back the next time I’m in Savannah. My only complaint was that my rib platter only included what looked like two medium sized ribs cut in half. I was expecting at least twice that amount of meat. Portion sizes for the vegetables and chopped pork were fine.

This is a fun food adventure to have if you’re up for exploring Savannah. This hole in the wall served up great sides and decent BBQ. I had the pork plate which was a consistency different than I expected. The sauce was pretty tasty though the hot sauce doesn’t have much heat. They were out of collard greens but the okra will do in a pinch. Mac and cheese was homemade and worth a try. I splurged on dessert and the sweet potato pie did not disappoint. Speaking of sweet, the tea was so sweet a spoon could stand on its own. Food arrived quickly with one older lady cooking. It felt like having your grandmother cooking for you. Our waiter, Ronnie, was sweet but in no particular hurry.

Great local bbq, friendly people, not crowded, in the lane(alley). Ordered the Mac and cheese, cole slaw, pork sandwich and hot ribs all were great Especially loved the fried fish sandwich. Basically it’s fried whiting on plain white bread, but it is great!

Now this is a hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint! Down a back alley where you’d never stumble upon unless you were looking for it. The BBQ was pretty tasty. The sides were really good — like home cookin’. The people made you feel at home and were super nice. Definitely worth a visit!
