If you are a true naturalistic hair person, you would probably need to avoid this place. They do not know how to do true virgin natural hair, such as trim without blowing straight, detangling without pulling out your hair using a rat tooth comb or milking it with paraben or petroleum free conditioners, or how to keep your hair healthy. At the very least, if they call themselves a natural hair salon, I suggest they watch various tutorials on YouTube before taking another appointment. Is there anyone in Savannah who truly knows black natural hair?

I had a FABULOUS first experience here! I’m in town for my sister’s wedding and wanted a cute style for the ceremony. I got coils on my short afro, and my hairstyle exceeded my expectations! Before I stepped out of the salon everyone was giving me complements! Love love love this place! Melissa is the bomb!

This was my FIRST visit and it began HORRIBLY. The shampoo girl was so incredibly rough on my natural little afro. My hair is very short, only about 2″ long, but for some reason she felt the need to scrub my scalp like she was trying to scour pan. Jeeze, I thought you were suppose to be gentle on natural hair!!! No, I do not have a tender scalp. When it was time for the conditioner, she actually only slapped it on the top of my head, none on the sides, front or back. So, the 30 mins under the dryer was actually less effective than it was supposed to be because of the lack of conditioner. After my time was finished under the dryer and BEFORE they rinsed the sprinkle of conditioner out, I felt my hair and it was DRY, CRISPY and coming out. My hair has NEVER felt like that after I’ve washed and conditioned it. The same young girl that washed my hair sat me down in her booth and I was shocked b/c she was not the person originally scheduled to style my hair; I can only assume the initial person didn’t want to work on my short hair! I paid them their unearned $ 25 and got the heck out of there. I think going to go back to Atlanta to get my hair treated and styled from now on.

Started going to the Nappy Hutt about six months ago. Consistantly, I’ve been satisfied with the service that I have received. The stylist not only do an excellent job at shampooing, cutting, twisting, or braiding hair. They educate the client on the style choices they have and the products used to color, care for or maintain their hair and the effects that those choices have on their hair, skin and overall health. As usual on Saturday September 7th, I got the great service I always get at the Nappy Hutt. Thanks Tiffany, Shawntel and Jebril!!!
