Description

Specialties

Voted Best Coffeehouse, Best Vegetarian Restaurant, and Best Indie Film Venue in the Best of Savannah 2011 & 2012 and Best Green Business 2013 in the Connect Savannah reader poll!

We serve fair trade organic coffee and espresso drinks, and our menu features organic and local ingredients, often purchased directly from the farmer. Our baked goods are homemade and we like to have whole wheat and gluten free option available whenever possible. Try our homemade brunch on Sundays from 9am — 12pm.

Happy Hour everyday from 5pm — 9pm, with $ 5 wine and $ 3 beer.

Most evenings we convert our dining room into an intimate listening room where we host live music, open mics, films and community forums. Check out our website for upcoming events: www.sentientbean.com

History

Established in 2001.

Our name, The Sentient Bean, is more than just a play on words; it is an expression of our ethic. We serve all organic and fair trade coffee, which guarantees that low-income farmers and artisans receive a fair price for their products so they may feed, educate, and care for their families. We are conscious of our impact on our community and our world.
