when we were looking for dog-​friendly walking tours of the city. What a brilliant business strategy for a gourmet dog biscuit store to offer.
We had an incredible time on our tour– Melynda was our guide and was immensely knowledgable and passionate about her city. The tour was perfectly-​timed from a sales perspective (4:30pm to 6pm) because by the time we got back to the store from the tour, our dog was starving. Of course we couldn’t deny him a bag of homemade biscuits! We spent a decent amount of time speaking with the owner (and playing with his dogs, Abby and Ollie), and it is clear that he cares so much about his product and about dog health.
This store is a definitely a specialty store– no toys, leashes, etc, but just treats and other dog-​related knic-​knacks. However the treats are such a good quality– he does one thing here and does it well. I respect that business model and hope he continues to drum up business.
I recommend anyone take a dog-​friendly walking tour through them, or just stop in to sample some gourmet biscuits!

Overall, small crowded shop with an irritable Oliver and unappealing, sharp treats.
Took my dog in, a very well behaved pup with other dogs (though a little energetic) and Oliver Bentley got pissed and growled at her. The lady inside told me it was because they were «Oliver’s treats» (I had given my dog one to see if she liked them…)
So I figured hey, support local business and get my dog a healthy snack. When I got home I practiced some tricks with her and she ended up hacking on half of the treats because they were so sharp. They were not particularly tempting to her either, so I am not sure what the fuss is about! Perhaps they just weren’t right for my dog.
Did not do the tour but it sounds nice enough.

We so wanted to do the walking tour with these guys but unfortunately we just weren’t in town long enough to do all the tours we wanted. The dogs loved coming in and my dog especially loved meeting the in store pups. Maverick is my dog and he adored the small treats that they have here. He’s still working on his bag but we’ll definitely be ordering more in the near future. The staff/​owners here were marvelous people who really love dogs and it’s very apparent. The owner told us they are slowly making there way into places like Whole Foods and I can’t wait for our Whole Foods in South Park to start carrying the dog biscuits. You can bet I’ve already made the suggestion here locally :) If you have a dog or two and have brought them to the friendliest dog city ever, don’t skip over taking them to Oliver Bentleys as you won’t be sorry!

came in here for something special to bring home to our babies. I right away Unilocaled dog to find specialty places in the area and found this place, our dogs love the treats and only wish we had brought one of our babies with us. the owner of the store was very friendly and even from Ny like us :)

We were visiting Savannah with our dogs and we thought we had packed enough dog food but we did not. I googled Pet Food and I was led to Oliver Bentleys. Normally I would go to Petsmart or something along those lines but we were staying downtown. I walked into a very quaint store with a friendly gentlemen working there. The gentlemen turned out to be the owner and when I explained I just needed a small bag of dog food since we were out of town he advised me that oliver Bentleys SOLELY sells dog treats, and only one type of dog treat at that. I initially thanked him and was about to leave when he stopped me. He said he had just been to a trade convention and had been given some dog food samples that he said I could have. I felt bad so I inquired about the dog treats. He explained that they were ginger biscuits and dogs just went crazy for them. He explained how to break them in front of a dogs nose and how the ginger smell drove dogs crazy (he demonstrated on his two dogs in the shop). I decided to buy a big 1 pound bag of the treats. They were not cheap (maybe $ 15 or so, but not ridiculous). I thanked him for the free dog food samples as well. We got back to the hotel and tried the treats out on our dogs… THEY LOVED THEM. The owner said that they were made from human grade ingredients so I admit I tried one… lol…they tasted great. It tasted like a ginger snap cookie! At least I know my dogs are eating something healthy and they can’t get enough of them.

I don’t write reviews — so you know this must be good. Ok, go for the tour and stay for the biscuits! First, more than anything, the service at Oliver Bentley’s is exemplary. Second, the tour is a fantastic historic walking tour of Savannah that will give you and your pup some great exercise while learning about the city as you would on other tours while at the same time talking about dog specific interests as well. Not to mention, because Ollie B’s isn’t one of those historic tour chains, you may get your tour guide all to yourself… as we did! It was fantastic for us and our dog… who was tuckered out at the end of the tour and crashed hard back in our hotel room while we went out for a relaxing dinner. Finally, don’t forget to pick yourself up a couple pounds of their biscuits… our dog is a nut for them and I am sure yours will be too.

We bought the tin of biscuits and Gracie loves them. The store is very cool and we did a dog walking tour of Savannah. It was excellent and highly recommended.

The toddler and I frequented downtown this spring summer and would often visit the chocolate shop right next to Oliver Bentleys. I’d usually stop to let her pet Oliver, the beautiful dog the store is named for, or feed him a treat from table sitting right outside the store– meant for other dogs I’m sure but Oliver likes to hang out right outside the door so he gets some treats as well, but we’d never stepped inside the store.
Last night while we were in Wright’s Square for Holiday Open House, we finally decided to go in and check it out. Oliver Bentley’s treats have great, human grade ingredients and are gluten free as well!
Back when I was single and kidless, I spoiled my pit mix Laney to the extreme. New collars monthly, clothes, premium treats, tons of toys. Since having a child to shower my love upon Laney no longer get the spoiling she use to. However, we do feed her healthy, premium grade dog food, so we will for sure be stopping back in to buy her a few bags of treats to fill her Christmas stocking!
