J.C. Lewis Ford

Finally decided to review after my experience with J. C Lewis today that threw me over the edge. When we first met the salesman who sold us our new to us vehicle we clearly told him we did not plan to be vehicle shopping (vehicle got totaled) and our number one concern was staying in budget and we would absolutely be getting a loan through our bank and not through the dealership. Long story short we talked numbers and decided we wanted to have a DVD player installed in the ceiling mount of our vehicle and we came to a final sale price… after about 10 Times of him trying to get us to finance through their dealership. We went to our bank got a check for the car plus our $ 2000 down. Everything was in writing and signed, EVEN the DVD player install. When we go to sign papers to take the vehicle home the salesman acted as if we had never scheduled a time to do so and had nothing ready for us.!We sat at the dealership for over 2 hours and the first hour was him just printing off the papers… unprofessional. The second hour he proceeded to tell me while my husband was in another room doing the legal paperwork that they couldn’t install the DVD player in the ceiling and we would have to pay extra than our agreed price for two in the headrests. No. That wasn’t what we agreed on, we had already signed and paid for the DVD in the ceiling… why was this not worked out with your «guy» who installs the DVD players before… unprofessional. He then proceeded to call his other «guy» who said he could install in the ceiling but it would cost more. The salesman then basically was trying to get more money out of me (while my husband was still gone) and I was not budging… unprofessional. He then proceeded to say «well if you bring me my next customer we will call it even»…Ummmm nope, I don’t work for you… Unprofessional. Needless to say I left very frustrated but left that day with an appointment for Monday at 9am to drop off our new to us vehicle for the DVD player to be installed, a ding in the hood to be fixed, the brake light to be fixed and the sun shade in the back to be fixed. 9am today I arrived and the salesman proceeded to take me to their in house enterprise rental car dealer (even though he told me they would give me a vehicle from their lot to drive) on the walk over he said «okay you’ll be squared away by the end of the day and everything taken care of» I said everything? Even the DVD player and hood and everything we agreed to? He said «ohhh no, I didn’t realize we were doing all of that»…at that point I’m even more upset… I refuse to keep bringing my vehicle back to get all of this stuff fixed. THEN we get to enterprise and they said we are slammed you won’t have a rental car for atleast an hour or an hour and a half, no one ever scheduled you to get a vehicle until now. No, no, no. At this point I’m done. I refuse to sit at that dealership for hours again because someone doesn’t know how to do their job and think about their customer. I called my husband furious who told me to talk to a manager so I did. The manager apologized and had me a vehicle ready to drive off the lot within 15 minutes. I appreciated that, but I didn’t appreciate wasting anymore time. Needless to say I’m extremely anxious to see what kind of job they do with the fixes that needs done and the DVD install. I’ve also heard nothing but bad things about their service department so even though our salesman said our first oil change would be free I’ll probably go elsewhere and pay for it.
I do not appreciate being pushed to the side and forgotten especially when everything is in writing and paid for. I also didn’t appreciate how all of the infuriating things happened when my husband wasn’t around like the salesman thought I would just do whatever they said. No, I won’t pay you more than we agreed on, and no, I won’t sit for 2 hours waiting for a rental car because you didn’t do your job. Also no apologies from the salesman… unprofessional! Definitely won’t be doing business here in the future.

I have a ford focus SE 2013 and ever since I had this car it has been an issue. I keep up with all the normal maintenance such as oil change, tire rotation ect. I have been to the J. C Lewis Ford dealership here in Savannah Georgia now for the 3^rd time for the same issue. The first visit was because I had my car in drive and it actually drove in reverse, engine light was on, could not drive over 40 mph because of the lash I would get from breaking, car would shake and hesitate upon pressing the gas, VERY DANGEROUS! I immediately called the dealership and they made me an appointment for the next week. I explained I was not comfortable driving in the vehicle because it was dangerous and I drive on the highway and god forbid my car stall out on highway 95 where the speed limit is 70 mph and I cant get over 40 mph and I get into a really bad accident. Fast forward I get to the dealership the next week and they take a look at my car and after hours of me sitting and waiting they told me they need to replace the clutch which will take a minimum of 12 weeks to get in because its on back order. I never received a call back weeks had passed and again I was still experiencing the same issues, they told me to bring the car back in. The previous advisor I was dealing with no longer working their and they had lost all of my information and did not even know that my car was waiting on a clutch so again I had to wait hours for a technician to see and diagnose my car yet again. They told me it was ok that the car isn’t dangerous and they test drove it and they would call me when the the clutch gets in. The clutch was replaced Aug of 2015. This brings me to now here in Feb of 2016. I brought my car in on Feb 04, 2016 because I was getting a transmission fault SERVICE NOW notification on my dash. Again nothing over 40 mph, car stalling as if its about to turn off, rpm is ⁷⁄₈ around 20 mph, check engine light is on, car is shaking, making noises as I shifted into gear. Again I call Ford of course they didn’t have any opening so the best they could do was schedule me an appointment for the next week on Thursday. I hung up with the advisor and maybe an hour later I called back and told him I could not wait a week to be seen that the car is barely drivable, dangerous and I have a fulltime job and I’m also a fulltime student and this is my only means for transportation and I need to be seen asap. He said he would call me back and he did and told me to come in that day. They told me they replaced the transmission module and some others thing they reset. Literally its been 8 days and my car is doing the exact same thing without the notification on the dash my check engine light comes on and off. I have kept every piece of paper work from this dealer on and about this car. It has got to the point where I don’t even want to drive the car because I’m in fear of getting into an accident or being the cause of an accident. I had a few to many close calls on accidents which would have totally been my fault because of the issues with this car. I am beyond tired of having to bring a 2 year old car back and forth to the dealer for the same issue. Having to be late for class or work is ridiculous because I’m sitting in the dealership for hours with my car for the same issues that suppose to have been «fixed». Clearly their is an issue with a lot of these cars from my research I’m not the only one. But now I feel like I have no other choice so I contacted a lemon law lawyer because clearly that exactly what my car is a LEMON. I don’t feel safe in it I don’t have any trust in the J. C Lewis Ford Service department they have screwed me over for the last time. I’m not a mechanic but their is obviously a bigger issue here and I am not going to leave my well being or safety of myself and my family in your hands any longer because you all have failed me one time to many. I would love to speak with someone from coperate and I dont want to have to wait a week for that either.

Only giving one star because I can’t give less! These people are crooks! Took my car in for a $ 1050 clutch job that required 3 days worth of work according to them. 2 weeks and 1400 later I get a car back with a check engine light on, mass air flow problems, no cold air, and a weak clutch! Make the drive to SC or Hinesville if you have to have a repair done.

Bought a car from this dealership, and they were great to me. The service since my last review has been great, and when I had a concern, sales addressed it right away. I was even able to speak with the General manager Mr. Offer in one phone call. Busy as GMs are that’s pretty impressive that they care enough about customers who ALREADY bought a car from them to still take time out of their schedules to help a customer out.
Plus, they just remodeled the new car department, and it’s a very clean, very nice environment. Doesn’t have that burnt popcorn/​coffee smell most dealerships have, lol.
I’d recommend giving them a visit, the prices on new cars are hard to beat.
Even the Internet sales manager Rodney was beyond helpful getting some questions answered, spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me going over a couple cars and sales figures j was interested in. I would go here before visiting another Ford dealer to buy a new car.

I’m giving them two stars, only because the actual auto service was decent. Props to the mechanics. The customer service is a disaster though. Expect to wait at least an hour for an oil change, even if you have an appointment. I have no idea why I gave them another chance today, because all three times I’ve been in have been bad. My first visit, for an oil change and tire alignment, they FORGOT TO CHANGE THE OIL. They did offer me a free oil change, but I had to come back in obviously, and waste another two hours of my life. My second visit was OK, except that it took a very long time, and the customer service guy was really distracted. He just sat in my car for an awkward length of time writing stuff down, even though all I needed was an oil change. You can just throw your keys at Jiffy Lube and walk away. What gives? So today, my last visit at JC Lewis, it again took an awkwardly long time to write down mystery info inside my car. But the real last straw was the customer service guy (a different one). He continually made negative comments about life in general, and attempted to work on multiple customers at one time. I don’t know why he tried to do that, because he obviously struggled to handle one customer at a time. I left my car there all day, hoping that when I returned I could just pick up my keys and go. Oh no. No one gets away unscathed here. It took 35 minutes just to get the bill, and have someone bring up the car. The same guy from the morning was holding my keys hostage trying to deal with me and another customer, while three other agents did who knows what. After I finally paid my bill about 20 minutes in, he goes to get my keys, then just sits them on him desk as though my car might drive itself up. I had to remind him that I was still standing there, right in front of him. Then he was somehow surprised that my car hadn’t yet arrived. Never again.

My first experience with Jc Lewis was 11 yrs ago I got a key made and the people in the service department were awesome. Now my grandpa worked for ford we had a dealership in Ohio our whole family goes to so we would just buy cars when we went home. We went to look at new explorers and I told my husband lets come to this one because they were super nice in the past. So instead of going to Hinesville because that ford dealer is rude we went here ended up leasing an explorer. Two yrs later we went back and I got a new explorerer and my husband leased an f150 and our lease ended and we went back in and bought our vehicles. Now a salesmen is a salesmen and they all want a sale its there job they have quotas. Look at the Dish people in Sams club there savages. I can say Jc Lewis has always been great. The sales manager is awesome. The service department is awesome and never once did we ever get treated like just a number from them. We also know what we want and I don’t get suckered into purchasing a car either. If you don’t like the loans walk away no one puts a gun to your head.

Worst ford dealership I have ever been to. All they care about is making a deal and not working with the customers. The salesman we dealt with was actually extremely nice and very friendly, but management refused to budge on working with the situation and trying to sell vehicles.

I had high hopes for working with J.C.Lewis Ford because my sales rep was very helpful, and I had heard great things about the Fiesta I was purchasing. However, it’s been a horrible experience since the day I bought my car. In less than one year, my brand new 2013 automatic Fiesta has had to have the clutch system replaced twice! Furthermore, when I brought the car in recently for the third time with the same issue, the General Manager claimed (repeatedly) that there was no record of the second time I had the clutch system replaced. Yet when I asked a service center employee to check the system the next day, the information was readily available, clearly stating the work that had been done. This is not the first time I have gotten mixed messages from the J.C. Lewis staff, as I was told by a service representative the second time I brought the car in that my car was an anomaly and that the problem was new, but a few days later when I called to ask when my car would be ready, I was told that there were 2 other Fiestas ahead of me in line to have the clutch replaced (for the same issue as mine). While I’m hopeful that the problem is now fixed, I have felt completely unsupported by J.C. Lewis Ford. Although it is more inconvenient, I will be looking for a different dealership to assist me with future repair work.

I’ve owned a Ford for 2 years. The teamwork of the entire staff is the best in the business. The emphasis on customer «appreciation», in my experiences have been over the top. The genuinely appear to be sincere in all of their effort to make you feel appreciated.

JC lewis is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. From rude salesmen to flat out liars. I was in the market to buy a used edge from them. It took them 3 days to process the paperwork. I was patient and took the last day off work to come pickup my new car. After sitting in the lobby for over an hour their «business manager» Joe called me in his office to inform me that they went down on my trade (2000 down) and my payment would go up 50 per month. They basically lied to my face and they will do the same to you. Do not deal with or trust this dealership. They will rip you off.

After having a horrible experience with one of their competitors, I was naturally wary of another dealership. I soon realized that I was in no danger of that happening with J.C. Lewis Ford. Greg, the salesman who helped me, was too wonderful for words. I didn’t find a vehicle my first trip there, but he stayed in touch and let me know whenever something came in that I might be interested in. He gave me great advice during the car-​shopping process and made the whole experience as easy as possible. The rest of the staff is wonderful as well– they’re very people oriented and not just trying to make a buck. I also highly recommend Kip from the Service /​Parts Department– very honest and a great mechanic.

Epitome of a used car dealer. I was shopping for my step son who is stationed close to this dealer. I was contacted by Johnny after submitting a lead online, we went our his budget and Johnny called me back with two cars that would work. On the day that my step son was going to visit the dealer, I called to verify that the one that he wanted was still available and to confirm price. The dealer had backed out on the price at this point. Said that he manager was unhappy that he quoted it and wasnt going to honor it. Bad business, thanks for supporting the troops, NOT!
