We stayed at this hotel 1÷15÷2016−1÷18−2016. We stayed in room 519. Before I even get to the room, Let me tell you about the other guest in the hotel. Friday Night(1-15-2016), Room 516, across the hall like 2 doors down, was like 20 college kids just partying away all night long, very loudly. On Saturday Morning, we mentioned it to the front desk. The apologized and assured us it would not happen again. Saturday Night, room 523(2 doors down on the other side of our room), 20+ Drunk College kids partying very loudly. At 3AM we gave up and called the front desk. No Answer. So my Wife and I both walked down to the front desk. No a person in sight. We had to go looking for the staff. We found the General Manager and the Security guard stanging outside inn front of the hotel doing nothing. We explained what was going on. The General Manager didnt do anything, not even speak. The Security Guard walked upstairs and asked them to quiet down. Not 10 minutes after he left, the College Kids decided to go out in the hallway and start yelling. Again the Hotel did nothing. Now on to the room. The floors were dirty. Black stains all on the carpet. Not 1 time during our stay was the floor vacuumed. The black out cirtans we pushed back so far, the forst night we didnt even know we had any and had to have the hotel come show us they were there. I literally could not find them and I was actively looking. The Down Pillows are worthless. Soon as you lay your head on them all the filling goes somewhere else. We gave up on the 6 down pillows provided to us and asked for regular pillows. They took our 6 down pillows and gave us 4 regular pillows which were not any better. Horrible nights sleep. The pillow top on the mattresses was worn out as well. On 1-19-2016 I called Hampton Corporate to complain about our stay since the Hotel was going to do anything. Their response was to file a corporate complaint and send it to the hotel and told me to wait 72 for the hotel to respond. If I didn’t like the response I could call back and they would file another complaint and send it to the hotel. Great messaging service they are. The hotel gift shop is great for getting a drink in the middle of this night. It is expensive though. $ 2.50 for a coke, $ 3 for a powerade. The bill it to the room as incendiary charges, so be aware of that, especially if you have kids. Won’t be doing business with Hampton Inn again. They are owned by Hilton Hotels and I have never had a bad stay at a Hilton Property till now.

Normally, we stay almost exclusively at Hampton Inns or Hilton Garden Inns. They’re not extravagant, but the breakfast is good and it’s a predictable experience. That said, this particular Hampton Inn was a little unlike the rest of the Inns at which we stayed. It really just boils down to the service and the sleep here. We found the bed to be really uncomfortable. And while the room was clean, it seemed as if the place was in a bit of disrepair. The shower doors were creaky and loud, the couch was sunken-in and lumpy, and the floors were spongy in places. We did have a reservation snafu. After calling and reserving for two nights, we were only put down for one. This lead to a bit of a tense conversation with staff and ultimately our hasty exit as we had to miss breakfast to pack up and get out. I never like to leave a review with just negatives. There were some good points! The check-in and housekeeping staff were delightful. Also, the Suite Shop here was one of the best-stocked shops we’ve seen in a while. And the in-room TV was a great size with a great picture. With a few tweaks, this hotel could be great. Otherwise, it’s just good.

I reserved this hotel while we were driving to Savannah for an overnight stay. I am glad i did because there was a man ahead of me at the front desk trying to find any available room in Savannah at 11pm. Even though there were 25 rooms available when I looked at 1 pm there was only 2 left when I finally booked a room at 7 pm. Suggest you reserve early. This hotel is only 5 years old and still looks brand new. The staff is wonderful and the breakfast buffet includes all the extras such as toppings for your waffle and three kinds of fresh juice. Our bed was very comfortable and I slept great. The only down side was the location. The hotel is 4 miles from the Riverfront. It is an easy commute, but we were trying to avoid hunting for parking spaces in downtown Savannah. We did find 2 parking garages, but would suggest you get there early since they fill up fast. It costs $ 15 for three hours. Cheaper than the daily parking fee of $ 20 hotels in downtown Savannah charge. We also had a hard time finding a place to park at the hotel upon our return from visiting downtown Savannah at 11pm. There was no spaces left and we parked illegally on the 3 level. I took a picture of my car and showed the staff. They assured me I would not be towed and it wasn’t. It was still unnerving hoping my car had not been towed when I went out in the morning. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are not dead set on being on the riverfront. The cost was less than other hotels in the area and we received top notch service and accommodations. A rare combination and a pleasant surprise.

I was disappointed with this particular Hampton Inn. As a frequent traveler and a HHonors gold card holder I’ve been given much better service and accommodations in most of the hotels. As soon as we signed in we were pressured to upgrade, second night cost more than first, no comfortable TV chair came with the room. So far with this stay I have received no benefit from being a Gold card member. Wondering if I should ask to see the room before checking in.

I reserved 2 rooms about 2 months before my trip. All was confirmed prior to my arrival for the price that was agreed on. Upon arrival, the hotel General Manager and his front desk manager decided to pull the old«bait and switch» on my rooms. They refused to honor my reservations and tried to get us to pay much more for the rooms that I had reserved. While trying to work around this situation, an elderly woman tried to check in and her reservation was«changed» as well. She was forced to pay a much higher rate for the night than was confirmed earlier. In speaking with other hotels in the area, it seems this Hampton is known for doing this to many people. We ended up staying in another Hampton off I-95 and it was great. I would strongly recommend that you not stay at this particular Hampton.

Having stayed at many Hampton Inns over the years, we felt confident in booking this one for our stay in Savannah. This hotel is located about 4 miles from the Historic District. It’s across the parking lot from their sister property Hilton Garden Inn. We checked in and I was told my upgrade of a King Room with Whirlpool had been approved. When I made it to the room, it was not the Whirlpool room, it was a King suite with a step in shower and no tub. Yes, it was a very spacious room with a king size bed and a sofa bed but I would have preferred my original choice of two Queen size beds. It had a desk, small kitchen with fridge and sink and a flat screen. I was shocked to find no in room safe. I think this is a basic necessity in any hotel, guests want to keep their valuables in an inroom safe. When I asked the front desk, they told me the only safe available was at the front desk which to me is unacceptable. I don’t feel that is a secure alternative and honestly I don’t want people seeing what I am placing in the safe. When we inspected the room further, they did not provide any covers or pillows for the sofabed. We were travelling with our son and our grand daughter and they were very aware of it because when I reserved, I clearly stated it was four of us. We called the front desk and they sent someone up to bring us the pillows and cover. After the second night, housekeeping decided to remove the cover for the sofabed so we had to call again and request they send it back. The thermostat in the room needs an upgrade. You cannot choose between hot and cold. If you drop it to 70 degrees, the AC turns on but if you want to raise it to 71, then the heat turns on, just seems like dead technology. Hampton Inns do not offer PPV on their TV’s and I just find that very strange and outdated. Rates are not that cheap so it’s not a matter of price. We enjoyed the indoor pool one day out of our 3 night stay because it was the only day it wasn’t packed. I also enjoyed the hot tub located next to the pool. The temperature was hotter than what I usually encounter and that was fine by me. One of the positives at this hotel is that parking is free. They offer a 3 story garage next to the hotel and that was very convenient. That was one of the deciding factors for me because I hate paying parking at hotels, I just find it’s ridiculous when you’re spending so much money on a room. Breakfast was very basic, coffee, juice and boxed corn flakes were the highlights. Overall, I have had better experiences at other Hampton Inns but I would recommend this one if you do not want to stay in the historic district.

This is a nice hotel– your standard Hampton Inn + Suites. I liked the location. It’s not too far from Hunter Army Airfield(we needed to be close to that) nor downtown Savannah. It is in a quiet neighborhood, which is perfect to get away from the hubbub. We were just there recently during the Thanksgiving holiday and a bit after that, so the hotel(the lobby area, at least) was already decorated for Christmas. Beautiful! The front desk staff is very nice, willing to help you out. The breakfast staff leaves a little to be desired, but that’s ok. Now on to the room. We had the two queen room/suite. It was clean, pretty spacious, and cozy. The view wasn’t great nor horrible– the parking garage next door plus trees. The only drawback was that it seemed that the A/C unit would not turn off no matter what– through manipulation of either the unit itself or the thermostat. So it was a bit cold sometimes. Overall, this place has a good vibe and I would stay again.

I would give this joint a 3.5 but can’t so it gets a 3. Relatively easy to find. Fitness area had two treadmills and an elliptical. Indoor pool. Nice covered parking basically attached to the building. The breakfast was lackluster. I wanted bananas for my waffle one day but they were literally all rotten. They looked okay on the outside but I’m guessing they had been slammed around and then kept in the refrigerator. Also, the only water available was in that weird juice machine and it tasted vaguely salty. No bueno. I also didn’t like eating downstairs because well, there were some, umm, more mature clientele who were hard to deal with. Just a lot of off handed talk of different political views that were flip and obnoxious. Has nothing to do with the staff, just made me not want to eat breakfast downstairs. We used the pool next door at the Hilton Garden Inn because it was outside. Our indoor one smelled very strongly of chlorine. Room was nice. Bathroom was roomy. Only complaint about it was that the water pressure in the sink was weak at best.

Nice, clean and knowledgeable staff. My son loves the indoor pool. Good water pressure and a comphy bed go a long way.
