History
Established in 1983.
Habitat Savannah, an affordable housing developer headquartered in Chatham County, is one of the oldest Habitat affiliate chapters, having started its operations in 1983, a mere seven years after the organization’s founding. Since then, the non-profit has completed the rehabilitation and the construction of 124 homes, 29 of which are owned outright by partner families. Additionally, the organization has tithed well over $ 165,000 to Habitat for Humanity International in that time, providing funding for the construct of an additional 21 homes internationally.
