Good cookies, clean, nice people. Besides buying a bag of the small cookies I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie(single) for the road. Very average at best. I’d go back but I had higher expectations for a cookie store that had been around this long.

Seriously?! Is this place real? Some one pinch me. These cookies are amazing! Byrd’s Cookies has been around for a long time and there are several locations around Savannah. Each one allows you to sample all of their cookies. Let me tell you, take advantage, because they are Soo delicious! They are bite sized cookies and my favorites were Georgia Peach, Key Lime and Lemon Tart. I wish I had one of these near me.

How can a cookie so small carry such a punch of flavor?! The Georgia peach is my personal favorite not to mention fitting for my first visit to Georgia. I took home 4 bags as souvenirs. Since these cookies are just a tad bigger than a quarter, it makes it both easy and dangerous to snack on. Don’t worry if you can’t decide on which flavor to get since you can try as many as your heart and stomach desires when you’re at the store.

This place was a joke. Little hard cookies in a bag for $ 7.95. I would rather get FAMOUSAMOS from a vending machine. Staff wasn’t friendly either.

Disappointing tiny hard, dry cookies. Not worth the walk over to find the store.

So this is a touristy store within the City Market area of historic Savannah, BUT those little cookies they serve are just so darn good. Plus, you can sample before you buy so you know you’re getting something you’ll want before you pay. And trust me, the various cookies are worth stopping by to try out!

This was a fresh change from the typical cookies I see on sale in stores. There were a good variety of flavors to choose from that I couldn’t decide what to buy. I ended up buying a tin can of the Key Lime coolers, Georgia peach cookies, and the cheddar pecans. All three tasted great that I’ve eating half if each tin in half a day! I am so glad they ship online. Staff was very friendly and very helpful, too.

The friendliness of the gentleman was just the beginning when I entered Byrds today. He had me tasting each kind and selling me on some I would never have considered. Everything is excellent. They are all bite sized so you can enjoy s variety without feeling guilty. It’s a real must. You’ll be hooked.

This is a must do in Savanna. The flavors are distinct, you can try as many as you like, and its clear that these cookies were thought of with love. Drop by and pick up a box of your favorite ones. Taking off a star as I thought the cookies were a bit too dry, even though the flavors were on point.

So, these lil mini cookies are great, and this was my favorite and friendliest location to visit, but… They are out of flavors for purchase constantly. I don’t understand, they have huge bags of some things, small amounts of others. It would be wise to break open big bags and portion them out for all the tourist that frequent the shops and can’t buy huge bags. Or for people who don’t need a million tiny cookies in a shot. Okay the thing is, once you taste the Georgia peach you’ll probably want that big portion, let alone maybe a truck load. Stop in anytime and be greeted with a big smile, try every cookie they’ve got and ask for seconds, they won’t refuse! So many flavors with a few really standing out.

YUM! Went in, sampled a bunch of stuff and made a small purchase. Delicious stuff! Tasted so fresh. The lovely ladies up front were so friendly and I felt like I could stay there all day to talk to them. Def recommend this place for a good afternoon snack.

So I was definitely a hater for a while — these cookies look like dry, dry ruins. I finally overcame my stance and gave some of them a try. They definitely impressed me. Georgia Peach, for example, is spot on. For such tiny cookies that are not baked on site they sure do pack a lot of flavor. Their store is fun and quintessentially Savannah. With not much else in City Market that’s really that great, make some time for this place and try their free samples.

I’m so bummed that they don’t let you buy them by the pound anymore! But every. single. flavor we tried was delicious. They ran out of pumpkin the morning that we went back to buy some! Truthfully, I would have bought every single flavor if it were in my budget! The little bags are not too expensive and make for a great gift. You can also just taste a few different cookie flavors with no obligation to buy.

Yummy cookies that are not too sweet. We got Georgia peach, key lime, cheddar pecan and triple chocolate. We liked the lemon and chocolate macaroon too. They let you try all the flavors :-)

Decided to do Savannah for our Anniversary, strolled into Byrd’s(our first time of course) and after indulging in samples. I was smitten by the cookies and the great personalities of all the employees. We decided to buy 2 bags not wanting to over indulge and we were asked what brought us by, told them it’s our Anniversary and all the ladies gave us hugs and congratulated us it warmed our heart and started our day off greatly. We will be ordering more online.

Byrd’s fancy little cookies are worth the exorbitant prices. Apparently they are also famous. I have no idea. After browsing through all of the flavor options in their City Market location, I settled on the Georgia Peach and the triple chocolate. Both are great, but the peach is the standout. And I’d assume one of their bestsellers too. It doesn’t really taste like a peach to me, however. I’m not sure what it reminds me of, to be honest. It’s like nothing I’ve had before, and it’s a nice surprise. I wish I could pinpoint the flavor! Keep some napkins near you while you’re munching. These guys are messy and the powder will get all over your fingers.

I’ve never been in this cookie shop, let alone heard of or tasted these cookies. I ended up here because of my friend Derek L., who asked me to pick up a bag for him. 7.95 for a bag of cookies. Not the kind of prices you’d find in a regular grocery store. But as I sampled different flavored at the counter, I began to understand the hype. My friend wanted the Georgia Peach flavor, which was pretty legit. I got for myself an even smaller bag for $ 3.15, a few bigger scotch oatmeal cookies. There were crackers placed out as samples, too, with their seasoning mix that was for sale. It was so tasty I couldn’t stop eating them, and had to control myself by just walking away. Dangerous, MSG is. All the service was pleasant and patient, which is what I have come to expect from southern hospitality. How can I leave the south when I can get service like this?!

Located right in the popular City Market in Historic Savannah, Byrd’s Famous Cookies caught the eyes of me and my best friend on our most recent vacation. The sign read«free samples», why not? Let me tell you, the variety of cookies is borderline overwhelming! You can easily get lost in this cookie paradise. The«cookie bar» as they called itself adorable. The young lady serving samples was very kind and helpful. She offered us plenty of cookie samples, we couldn’t help ourselves! My favorite cookie was the Cinnamon Sugar Cookies. They were pretty addicting! I bought two bags as part of their 4 for $ 25 deal. The packaging looks small but it lasted me quite a while and I had trouble putting them down!

Sooooo many cookie flavors, I enjoyed the free samples but not enough to purchase a bag to take home. The staff was friendly and helpful and people seemed to flock in, I don’t know if they were that happy to buy the cookies or were just there for the samples because they saw the big sign in the window like I did.

Have you ever heard of BYRD’S «FAMOUS» COOKIES before? Me neither ! It was that enticing word«FAMOUS» that caught our attention to this cookie shop… while I don’t really have much of a sweet tooth on a day-to-day, sometimes the Cookie Monster visits and gives me a temporary craving for sugary treats… As we approached the cookie shop, we took noticed of how cute the entrance was… ironically I’ve never considered painting my home the color of «putty» but here it was; add a white awning with red lettering, red double doors and windows with red trim… architecturally I really take to the place. LET’S CHECKTHEPLACEOUT How wonderfully adorable inside… First of all, I loose interest really quick when shops are cluttered with too much stuff that has nothing to do with what they do(in this case COOKIES)… When I walked into BYRD’S FAMOUSCOOKIES, it was very clear that you entered a cookie emporium… some non-cookie stuff like mugs but not bottom line is it’s not cluttered with an over-abundance of junk. Simple display racks lined some of the red brick walls and each shelf was marked with exactly what should be there… so when you grab a bag of Butter Thin cookies and get home you never have to worry about accidentally going home with a bag of Lemon Tart Cooler cookies… hmm, not that the Lemon Tart Cooler cookies don’t sound awesome. So being located along West St Julian Street between Ellis Square and Franklin Square in what is known as City Market… you KNOW you can expect lots and lots of tourists and while we were in the shop, it was EXACTLY that… loaded with tourists. Lots of looking and touching but I couldn’t say for sure if there was much buying but I guess that’s to be expecting if you’re located in City Market… just to clarify what City Market is: dating back to the 1700s, this was the original City Market where farmers and traders gathered to exchange goods and reclaimed and restored to become a charming but touristy four block area loaded with retail shops and restaurants. HOWARETHOSECOOKIES When it comes to desserts and sweet treats like Tiramisu, Bread Pudding and other specialties, I am very picky… I have high expectations and the bar was set high so I’m always comparing to the«BESTOF…» each dessert I have… BUT with cookies I have no benchmark to compared to since I don’t really recall any time I was served cookies that I went«HOLYMOLY»… frankly I’d be happy with tube of pre-made chocolate chip cookie dough from the nearest grocery store… With all that said, we hit what we «believe» was a sampling station… and began to sample a couple of different cookies… who am I bullshitting… we began to sample A LOT of different cookies. The sampling station was lined with classic, drugstore glass jars along the counter top with roughly 20 different types of little cookies. No one was behind the counter to serve them but there were a couple pairs of tongs so we thought(more like assumed) that the girls were busy(as they really were with so many tourists, such as myself) so we helped ourselves. Of course they had plenty of the CLASSICCOOKIES such as Chocolate Chip cookies, Sugar cookies and Oatmeal cookies… I didn’t try the Chocolate Chip cookies because these cookies were in jars at room temperature and I really love Chocolate Chip cookies straight out of the over all warm and gooey… I didn’t try the Oatmeal cookies because I have never liked Oatmeal cookies before and don’t this Byrd’s or any other shop will change that… AND I didn’t try the Sugar cookies because sugar cookies are boring. Seeing the names of the cookies BEYONDTHECLASSICS, we were like«WEMUSTTRYTHEMALL»… don’t worry, we didn’t actually try them all… The ones that stood out were: Key Lime Cooler cookies(easily one of the best we tried), Raspberry Cooler cookies, Georgia Peach cookies, Chocolate Macaroons, Benne Wafter, Birthday Cake cookies… There were two cookies that the«name along» was so unexpected, that I assumed I would dislike… so of course I tried them… Cheddar Pecan(maybe here in the south it’s a normal combination but it was new to me; sadly I didn’t like it. The other unexpected cookie combination was Vidalia Onion… Really? SURPRISE, It was really unique… who would’ve thought of making a Visalia Onion cookie, but they did… and it was quite good. Not wanting to feel like we were in a «dine and dash» situation, we decided to buy a couple small bags of cookies… they made for great snacking when we continued our road trip up the east coast.

Walked in and was greeted by two college aged girls talking to each other. No acknowledgement that I was there or anything. We proceeded into the shop and looked at some cookies that chips ahoy would put to shame. We also made it back out the front door without any form of greeting or even a passing glance. So much for southern hospitality. Bless their hearts.

I was sitting outside of wet willies, and looked across the street and saw byrds famous cookies. Decided to go in there and visit there cookie bar. I walked into the store and was surprised that I was not greeted by anyway, considering that every store I’ve been in, I was bombarded with hellos and help. These two college aged students just ignored me. I even tried smiling at one of them, to see if I could get some sort of reaction, I was given a demented version of a smile. Tell ya what, they’re definitely not teaching social skills over there at SCAD. Bless there hearts.

I was walking around downtown Savannah and noticed this store. The cookies displayed behind the window looked delicious, so I had to go in. I was greeted by the staff right away. Wha’st awesome about this place is that they let you try samples of their cookies, just walk back to the cookie bar. The staff is very knowledgeable and will tell you about the history and flavor profiles. They mentioned the most sold cookies are their key lime, chocolate chip, ginger snaps, benne wafers and scotch oatmeal. I tried the Georgia Peach and the Scotch Oatmeal and was sold on the Scotch Oatmeal! Has a great taste and not too sweet. I bought a Micro Mini Jar which holds 11 oz of cookies(size 4.5″ X 6.5″) for $ 22.95. I know it’s a bit steep, but worth every bit! If you want a bigger size the Large Jars are for $ 40.00. If you don’t want to purchase the cookies with the jar, you are able to buy them in bags. I wanted to buy the signature cookie jar because it looked really cool and would go great in my kitchen. Store is very open and organized. Love the décor! Located in City Market. Street Parking. If you are in the Savannah area and a cookie lover, drop by this place. They are super delicious!

I read about this place on a Food Network app and I was seriously disappointed. I was expecting freshly baked, big and soft cookies, not pre-packaged tiny crunchy cookies. This isn’t a cookie shop, it’s a store that sells pre-made cookies at high prices. Good luck getting a parking spot, it’s virtually impossible. I ended up having to pay some preacher $ 20 to park in his church’s parking lot so I could go get one of these crummy cookies. There is a sampler bar in the back(you can have 3 samples) and the cookies are good but they aren’t anything great. I’m left Savannah over a week ago and I’m still so let down and bummed about this place. Make sure you know what kind of cookies they sell before you go so you can avoid the disappointment that I am still feeling.

Never noticed this place in Savannah. We walked in and noticed the«cookie bar», free samples! You can try all their brands, almost 20 different varieties. The oatmeal is the most popular. They were very crispy and good. I liked the key lime and peach cobbler. Lightly dusted with powdered sugar. Delicious! Prices were touristy. Kinda high for a small bag. Great new find in Savannah.
