History

Established in 2014.

In 1989, Bruce Reed whose passion for extraordinary ice cream and stellar customer service founded Bruster’s Real Ice Cream. Bruce opened his first Bruster’s in Bridgewater, PA after perfecting his recipe for rich, creamy homemade ice cream. People came from miles around to enjoy the skillfully prepared desserts that Bruce created right in that first store. It got to where he had to expand to keep up with the growing demand for his ice creams. Before long, Bruster’s became one of the fastest expanding ice cream stores in the country. While we have come a long way from those early days, we adhere to the guiding principles that have made Bruster’s the revered brand that it is today. We continue to make all our desserts, such as our cakes, pies, and waffle cones, as well as our ice creams, right in the store where they’re served. Most importantly, we’ve never lost sight of the reason Bruce started serving ice cream in the first place: to make our customers happy.
