The old military setting, with the GG bridge and city view helps make this place magical. It’s not the best view, it’s more a mythical experience. You need to use your imagination Unilocalers and think about what went on in those barracks and grounds, a long time ago? The BEST Martini I’ve ever had. Grey goose with perucchi vermouth and blue cheese stuffed olives. YUM. YUM. YUM.

I really am not someone who likes to write negative reviews, but I just need to vent right now! I received a $ 500 voucher for Cavallo Point and I decided take out my team and enjoy cocktails at the bar after work.(I don’t think the money will be enough to feed a team of 8 people at the Murray Circle, plus I just want this to be drinks.) I called the bar and learned that you cannot make reservations at the bar… Grrrrr, I really hate this San Francisco attitude of not taking reservations and having people wait in line! Here’s the thing, people: you know how hard it is to coordinate bringing 8 people to Cavallo Point on a Monday evening after work? And then imagine that you get to the bar and you won’t get seated until maybe an hour later? Seriously, why can’t you be flexible on your stupid policy? PS: I have actually been to the bar before and had a good time… but this attitude really pisses me off!

Great food and service. The bar is laid back and has a really good vibe to it. We had appetizers including the mussels, truffle fries and the olive, hummus plate, all really good.

We live in Sausalito and often hike through the Headlands to Murray Circle on the weekend. For some reason(perhaps because the food and service at the little yacht club is so bad) we keep punishing ourselves at Farley. Yes the view is nice. No the prices are not nice given what is delivered. The problem I believe is that the various menus(and we have tried all day parts) just does not hold together. Not the Brunch, Bar or Dinner menus. It seems the management decided to take some simple items(popcorn, hamburgers, chicken salad and make them exotic by adding off the wall items which just don’t fit. In fact, the flow of the menus is such that I usually sit looking at the offerings over and over trying to identify one item which I can say, «…that sounds good… I would like to try that…». My worst choice was the duck wings, clearly a variation on chicken wings but due to the high fat content inedible. If there is anyone in the organization who can visit a few good restaurants and get a sense of normal offerings and make the changes and please help whomever put together the mash of what is currently served… please!

Since we were staying at Cavallo Point, we decided to grab a bite to eat. Can I tell you how freaking good the Bavette Steak is?! I damn near licked the plate… it was that good! Order it medium rare… you will not be disappointed.

We were on our way back from Napa to the city and wanted to stop somewhere with a view for lunch. We weren’t set on going to the wharf so we Unilocaled about what was ‘near’ the GG Bridge. This spot came up! The views and reviews looked great so we gave it a shot. The views WERE great. The restaurant wasn’t right on the water like I had thought but if you sit on their front patio, you will definitely see the water. To start, I ordered a Bloody Mary while we were waiting for a table outside and it was super tasty with just the right amount of spice. For lunch, we split their lettuce salad that had marinated strawberries, hazelnuts & goat cheese. {I honestly wish that I would have had this for my meal. It was delightful!} For the entrée, we split the pastrami sandwich with an egg on top and the steak sandwich {modeled after a Philly cheesesteak}. Both were delicious but pretty heavy, I’m in a major food coma now and am kind of regretting eating such a heavy lunch! The steak sandwich came with homemade chips and onion dip and both were fantastic. The prices were a little high; For 1 salad, 2 sandwiches and 1 sprite, our bill was $ 62 {including tip}. Other than that, we were very satisfied! If you’re looking to dine at a place near the city without the hustle and bustle and great views, I recommend this spot!

Seats on the terrace, great food, yummy drinks and great service with view of the water and Golden Gate bridge. What more could you want. Its a ‘fancyish’ place but lots of people in sneakers and yoga pants which seemed to say they went for a bike/hike first and then rolled in for sustenance. I will defo be here again. We didn’t book but you can wait anywhere on the property. So we grabbed some drinks and hit the rocking chairs.

Nice strong drinks. Just a few vegan snack options– the chips are really good! Very privileged Marin vibe. Makes for great white people watching– seriously, it was packed & I was the only POC there, besides staff :/…

Absolutely terrible. Stuffy, ignorant, rude. Wear designer or prepare to be ignored, regardless of net worth. Ridiculous.

When the fog stays out, the deck on a weekday evening is perfect for a lite dinner out with family, we didn’t have to wait too long for a table

Delicious burger. Custom chips and onion dip. Incredible drink selection. The view is definitely of some prime real estate, this place is definitely a hidden gem. I will return here.

Sitting on the Farley Bar patio is one of my favorite things to do in the Bay Area(and you don’t even have to check in at the resort). There’s nothing like ordering some wine or a cocktail and watching the sunset reflect off the towers of the nearby GG Bridge. The view of SF Bay, Marin Headlands and the bridge are breathtaking. Or is that the chill in the air from the fog about to roll in? No matter – there are lots of blankets and heat lamps around. When it’s too cold, it’s definitely cozy inside. You can sit by the fireplace and listen to a little live music, or watch whatever game is on the bar TV. The wine list is good, the apps and food are really tasty, and the crowd is lively. Like the restored tin ceilings above you, the place encapsulates a sense of the both the modern and the traditional. Feels good!

This bar/restaurant has quite possibly one of the best collections of high end spirits anywhere on the West Coast. From Blue Label Scotch to Louis XIII Cognac to Pappy Van Winkle’s Bourbon, Farley Bar never disappoints when you are in the mood for your favorite drink of choice. It’s not cheap by any standard but the pours are full and true so you can count on getting your money’s worth. The Moscow Mules and Mojitos are stiff enough for a hot day but also won’t overpower any of your softer paletted friends. The menu pairs well well with the wines and liqueurs, especially the bavette steak with a big Cabernet or an amazing Cognac. Parking can be an issue but there is complementary valet if you drive a few yards or so past the restaurant itself. The service can be inconsistent at times depending on where you are sitting but I simply suggest giving yourself an hour or two and enjoying the Sinatra/Dino/Ella/Buble catalogue of music they play and drop some of your hard earned money on an ounce of Kelt or Louis XIII for yourself and a friend. Accept and enjoy the slower pace of things around here.

I really enjoy the pub like atmosphere here! I probably dine here once a month. Food is pretty great with the exception of the chicken lettuce cups. BEAWARE of the very common TRAFFICSTOPS by the Park POLICE. I recommend that you FULLYSTOP at all road intersections within the Cavallo Point resort. By intersections, I mean a crossing of 2 tiny roads. I recommend NOT rolling through them regardless of an octagonal stop sign or not. Word to the wise…

Loved loved loved this place! The setting is spectacular. Felt like I was taken away to another time, as the military architecture of Fort Baker is stunning. The whole place with the grass, views of the water, city, and Golden Gate Bridge, buildings, church, etc., are incredible. Can’t beat it! Farley Bar gets busy, and it’s LOUD. Not a great place to hold a conversation. Crowd is eclectic: from the gray hairs, to the SF yups, bicyclists, and LOTS of kids running around. If you’re looking for a quiet stodgy place, this isn’t it. We got two marvelous cocktails, and believe me, they were much needed. Price point is high at $ 12, so it’s more of a «special occasion» place to get a drink. The guacamole with home made chips was pretty good, but not as good as my guacamole, LOL. The hamburger was amazingly juicy, cooked medium rare, and delicious. It came with home made potato chips and the onion soup mix and sour cream dip. Tasty! Disappointed they were out of my order of the duck wings, so next time for sure! Already dreaming about staying at Cavallo Point on a Sunday for the«locals special.» Would love to veg out at the spa, pool, take a yoga class. Coming back to try Murray Circle for a meal, and definitely coming back to Farley Bar too! Probably soon!

Great place to grab a quick nice meal. It ms in an ideal location, beautiful environment, great service, and fresh/delicious food. The staff here is considerate and thoughtful. This is an easy place to stop and have a great meal in Southern Marin(not many decent places near the bridge on San Francisco side). I can imagine this is absolultely the best place to come while on an epic bicycling adventure.

I love coming here to escape SF. I grab a hand-crafted beverage from the handsome bartender, step outside and stroll out to the porch or fire pit where I sit and relax. Then I wistfully gaze at the City that I was just trying to escape from…

Came here for both brunch and late dinner. service was great and food was OK. My mussels were SALTY. Breakfast was surprisingly better. My friend and I both agreed on how great the bacon was. If you sit outside on the porch, you can always pull the shade down if the sun is shinning on you. dinner was expensive, breakfast/brunch was priced well

On a beautiful day this place is amazing! On a not so beautiful day still stunning! the Eucalyptus trees, the view of the GG bridge, the bay… and a fireplace and a great meal awaits you inside. But don’t let me tell you to try the burger, the oysters, the mussels. just do it. You will not be disappointed. Also, they make a basil cucumber concoction that is divine and so refreshing.(psst…you can add vodka or gin and make it extra yummy!) They do a great outdoor BBQ as well on the weekends.

12/20/2013 Best place on the planet if you ever feel like a sad and socially inept loser! I’ve had the same thing at sunset every month of the year here, Laguna Chardonnay and truffle popcorn, on the veranda, shivering, gazing at the Golden Gate Bridge. Charlie Parker in the background, my heart doesn’t just heal here, it finds reckoning.
