I am a Personal Assistant and Kurt came recommended to me by a friend. I’ve been working with Kurt for the last year on various projects for my employer. Kurt has done a wide variety of projects for us — most notably, removing a room that was in a large garage. After he was done, you’d never know there used to be a room there — he did a perfect job.
Kurt is reliable, responsive, on time and readily available at short notice. He is always pleasant and very accommodating. I recommend him highly.

Kurt installed an attic fan a couple years ago and he did such a great job we called him back to install lights for our front and garage doors and another one in the back. I asked how much time he had as I also needed him to also change a bad light switch and then asked him to check our kitchen sink that was draining very slowly. He checked the drain pipe but found no clog. It was something more complicated and made recommendations as he had to go onto his next job.
He is very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. His pet parrot, Isabella was also there for good company. Excellent work and highly recommended.

I called Kurt last minute to help with a few things around the house and he worked with me to find a time that worked even though he had a jam packed day. He was professional, friendly, and reliable. I definitely recommend Kurt for any and all handy needs!

Kurt did a great job of tending to all the little projects here, including plumbing, electric and just helping me move heavy objects. 5 Stars!

I’m updating my review as I’ve been using Kurt’s services for nearly two years now. Since my last review he’s done virtually every type of home improvement project for me. What sets him apart is his willingness to go the extra mile to make sure his customers are satisfied. He’s incredibly fair and ethical and always does a fantastic job on every project. His prices are competitive, and best of all he has a great attitude and demeanor. He’s one of those people that always makes your day a little bit better.

Kurt is terrific. Very skilled, nice to work with, on time and reasonably priced. What I appreciate a lot is that he took the time to explain things to me. He was quick and efficient and seems to have a solution for everything. He is also a very nice guy. I recommend him highly.

I cannot recommend Kurt enough! I had an emergency situation over the weekend and Kurt came to my rescue super last minute (and on a Sunday evening) to help me move and assemble my bed for me. He dropped personal plans to help me out, and for that I truly appreciate him! He did a great job with the bed and I will DEFINITELY use him again.

So I had a very old family friend move to San Francisco. She needed to get furniture and moved in fast. I helped her go pick out her furniture and get it delivered… There was the task of putting it all together and moving it. Sunday, last minute, I called Kurt. Frantic. «Can you help my friend? Found Kurt on Unilocal,he was great. Responded to my voicemail quickly and was able to come by the house and take care of fixing cabinets, lighting, landscape steps and clogged drains! He is now my «Go to Guy». Very highly recommended!

I recently used Kurt’s services when I needed some miscellaneous things done in my new place. He was easy to communicate with and listened to what I wanted done, and executed my requests in a timely and business-​like fashion. I’d definitely recommend him and would not hesitate to call him again.

His reviews are great, and I wish I could have worked with him, but after almost three weeks of back and forth communication, he never called to schedule the work. Guess my projects weren’t worth his time.

No job is too small or too large for him. His work is meticulous. He finds creative solutions for the many jobs and projects that we have given him. He is very accommodating with his schedule and goes out of his way to make things happen. He is also extremely aware of protecting the areas he works in from dust etc. I have worked with high end contractors on several residential design projects and Kurt’s standard of work is at that level.
On top of it all he is reasonably priced and he is extremely nice. I look forward to working on many projects with Kurt and wish there were more than 5 stars to give him!

Kurt was the best! I had him over to do a variety of things and he did them excellently and offered great advice. He was very experienced, efficient and easy to work with. Owner of Expert Hand, Kurt Mau, is talented, dedicated, hard-​working and accomplished in his craft. I hired Kurt to work on numerous repairs at a rental property in San Rafael and can not say enough about his wonderful demeanor, Expert Hands skillset and persistence in getting the job done.
An avid outdoorsman, I understand he is quite the kayaker as the photo below show. The balance and skill required to maneuver a kayak is only exceeded by his talents as a handyman, jack-​of-​all trades and delight to work with on projects. I must say when I needed a list of 20+ repair items completed in under 10 days, Kurt took up the challenge, brought in experts to help and got the job done. I intend to work with Kurt on other properties and highly recommend him!

I’m so grateful I found Kurt on Unilocal.I highly recommend him and his crew for painting and other «around the house» tasks. First, Kurt closed up a large doorway between two rooms — framing, sheet rock + texture. Then he painted my whole place, including caulking and painting new trim, removing and patching drapery hardware and hanging a flat screen TV. Kurt did what he said he would do, when he said he would do it. He always showed up exactly when he said he would and left my place immaculate at the end of each day. You couldn’t even tell it was in the middle of being painted. I had just had new wood floors installed (I had already hired someone else before I met Kurt or I would have used him) and they were super careful with them and all my belongings. Kurt is reliable, accommodating and reasonably priced. I’m 100% pleased with his work. What a great resource!

We feel very lucky to have discovered Kurt. He originally came to our house to do a simple window caulking repair and since then has done electrical, plumbing, and painting, including resurfacing a very water damaged wall. He and his assistant are responsive, and skilled. Kurt thinks through the solution and even called in a friend to help who had special expertise for our job. He prepares the work area to protect the house, cleans up, is prompt, and courteous and pleasant. I give him the highest recommendation… just don’t call him when i need him!

Kurt has come to fix and replace a shower head, to re-​caulk our tub and sink, to fix our broken fridge and our toilet, and to install some blinds in our bedroom. Great work on everything he’s done! His services are fast, affordable and reliable. We found him on Unilocal and are so happy we did. He’s a great handyman and very nice to boot!

Had to call Kurt again! My washing machine broke. Leaked water all over the hall and I called Kurt. He had other plans as it was late in the day. Said he would come right over. Fixed it. Low cost and I was super happy! In a pinch! Kurt can even do that!!! Super happy and handy!
