Our contemporary Healing Arts Center & Spa features over 11,000 square feet, with 11 treatment rooms for massage and facials, heated outdoor basking pool and peaceful Tea Bar. We welcome both hotel guests and day visitors to the spa. There our highly-​trained massage therapists and aestheticians ease you out of daily pressures and into a state of calm and tranquility.

Cavallo Point guests can also engage in multi-​day experiences focused on fitness and wellness. Our Adventure & Well-​Being programs include hiking, mountain biking, meditation, nutrition and more. Let us guide you in healthy living.

We don’t have much history yet, but I can use this space to tell you about more of our services in these historic and contemporary buildings!!!

The Cavallo Point Healing Arts Center & Spa in Marin County, California, offers a retreat from the ordinary. Nestled in a grove of cypress trees, the Healing Arts Center is a return to nature. We use herbs, essential oils and other products from the earth to restore the body to a sense of balance and wellness.

Whether it’s a massage, facial, wrap, energy work, or acupuncture session, our treatments are delivered with integrity and intention. Share our reverence to therapeutic benefits that only nature can offer.

We had high hopes for the spa but were ultimately pretty disappointed. When we arrived we had to wait at least 10 minutes before being checked in since both people working were on the phone (understandable and we weren’t in a hurry, but could have been irritating for somebody who had an earlier appointment). Once inside, the space is very beautiful. 5 stars for the waiting area and the heated pool outside– those were great. The main part of this review is the bathroom/​locker room and the noise. If you are paying this much for a treatment, I think you should be able to have a space to change, shower, etc. without feeling crammed. I don’t know if they were just super busy this day, but it was MADNESS. There are only 2 showers in there so there was always a line of people waiting. Then there were about 8 glasses of used tea/​water sitting on the counter by one of the only 3 sinks. I can only think that somebody had come in to clean and put them all there and forgot to grab them? But they were there upon arrival and still there when we left. Then the other 2 sinks were always crowded with people blow drying and getting ready. Some of the lockers are down by the door to the steam room where there were bags, towels, robes ALL over and nowhere for those people to change, so they were crammed in the other area where the other lockers were. It just felt like a zoo and not relaxing in the slightest. I saw at least 2 women leave to go shower in their hotel rooms. There was also quite a few groups of families/​friends and they were just being so loud and inconsiderate in all the common areas. I saw the staff kindly ask them to quiet down once at the pool, but they just picked up again shortly after and then were very loud while eating their lunch in the waiting area. The staff all did seem to be overwhelmed but I think they could have done more to make it a better environment for everyone else. All in all I would hope in the future they can get a grasp on this. If you are paying this much, it should be all around top notch in my opinion.

So disappointed! This is a beautiful facility, but their staff doesn’t know how to honor requests for masseuses. I’ve had bad massages and good ones here, so that in itself is a mixed review. But the last 4 out of 4 times, I specifically asked for a masseuse; explained past disappointments, and still ended up with the wrong masseuse. I’ve told them I would just walk out if they gave me massage personnell I really really thought be counterproductive to relaxation. The nice evening manager gave me a complimentary day pass, tho I thought this was barely adequate. Today, I am told that they won’t honor that day pass because it is a weekend. They also didn’t even want to HEAR AT ALL about the leg pain that was driving my request. «We can book you a massage for $». Heartless and disorganized.

I am 5 months pregnant and tried my first prenatal massage. I was nervous as I read a not-​so-​great review on this page but took my chances anyway. I had Maryah who was absolutely wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and I felt like I was in good hands. Since we can’t lay on our bellies, she had my lay on both sides with pillows in all the right positions to make me feel completely cozy and comfortable. Then she reclined the table a bit to a slightly seated position followed by a neck massage that was so wonderful. The waiting area is serene and nice with a fire place. While my friends waded in the headed pool, I sat and ready by the fire. If you’re not sure or on the fence, go for it!

Beautiful! I love this spa. Its soo tranquil and the pool is lovely to lounge before or after your service. We came here for a girls date — all got massages. We all loved our massages! I highly recommend this oasis.

I got a generous gift card here for my bday but sadly misplaced it right before I was due to show up. I called to see if they could look it up and they said sadly No. I ripped apart my place and all my bags & ended up being late and stressed for my massage but then Javier just made everything better. I love people like him that just make things happen. Ive been here several times recently so I was in their system. I had the gift card box with my name on it and my friend that gave me the card.
I hope he doesnt get in trouble for helping me out because its exactly service like that, that makes me loves this place. Anything is possible. I hope his manager recognizes him for a job well done.
Also wanted to point out the incredible massage from Jessica, now my favorite massage therapist here. She definitely put me at ease. Whats great about this spa is you have unlimited outdoor pool, steam and jacuzzi time if you book a service here. Its on the pricier side but the whole resort is definitely one of the gems of SF & should be visited at least once. They have discounts for locals who come M-​Thurs on Unilocal too!

This was my first time here. It was fabulous. If you are looking to get away from the stress in your life, this is the place to come. My one hour Swedish massage was so relaxing and the therapist had great energy which added to the experience. The outdoor pool is a great way to end the day with a yummy sandwich from their café. Enjoy!

One of the very best massages I have EVER had! Seriously. My sister, mom and I escaped the insanity of our day and each had a massage. And each of us were so pleased that we can’t wait to book our next visit! We each had the organic Swedish massage but the therapists are opened and trained to incorporate other styles as needed. My therapist included a lot of energy work and I can’t say enough how great I felt for at least a week after. Although the price is average, the amenities included, surpass anything you get in SF. I mean there’s really no! facility that can accommodate the space you get just a few miles out SF. The views are spectacular as is the spa facility. The asymmetrical building built of beautiful wood with 20ft ceiling and floor to ceiling windows makes you feel one with the stunning redwoods and eucalyptus groves. The outdoor heated pool is a nice respite from the busy sounds of the City and yet you’re only a few miles away. This place is a gem and I truly hope that it continues to be maintained so that it stays this way for years to come.

You don’t have to go far to get away. This Is what I learned when I discovered Cavallo Point.
It’s a hotel in Marin close to the Bay Area Discovery museum & the GG Bridge.
The hotel has a modern building dedicated to a healing center & spa.
I attended a talk about tai chi there at the healing center & had quiet time in the lounge. It was pretty chill.
Prior to the talk, I enjoyed detaching from all the busy nonsense of everyday life and looked out the window of the atrium lounge at nature (you know, trees/​flowers/​birds). I ate fruit and drank lemon lavender tea… not a bad days work…;0)
If you go to the spa, enjoy a treatment, the outdoor 100 degree pool on the terrace or the small jacuzzi beyond the locker rooms.
In any case, you feel a world away and you’ll realize you gotta have more of this… enjoyment of life.

I was very disappointed in my experience at the Cavallo Point Spa. I was attending a family gathering and my mother-​in-​law wanted to transfer her massage appointment to me. I spoke to the spa desk people, who definitely had a bit of attitude, and I thought I finally had it squared away. When I arrived, the therapist had not been informed that I was the new client so she was looking for my MIL. She then saw I was pregnant, which totally threw her, even though I’d made sure that I could get a prenatal massage (which the desk workers assured me I could). I then had the WORST massage in my entire life. The therapist– Whitney– could not have done it more lightly. It was like a joke, especially when she «held» the pressure points. I asked twice for harder pressure, but this didn’t do much.
$ 165 for this, plus a tip which I did give because I felt bad, but later regretted.
Furthermore, the showers and floor in the locker room had tons of hair all over, and the bottom of my locker had dust bunnies!
To add insult to injury, my MIL cancelled her other appointment for a facial, and the spa charged the cancellation fee– the full amount of the service– to me and my room! Unbelievably bad communication and service. You would do better to take your spa business elsewhere.

Spent Valentines day weekend at Cavallo Point. My boyfriend and I had morning massages. we spent a few moments in the steam room, hot tub, and drinking tea by the fire in the lounge before our appointments.
I’ve been to a TON of spas, and my favorite so far WAS Desert Springs Spa in Palm Desert, Ca, but since visiting Cavallo Point, I really don’t have a reason to go back (besides the 100 degree weather).
My appointment was with Chloe– great firm pressure, healing hands, the 60 minutes felt like 90. One of the best massages I’ve gotten.
Loved the outdoor therapy pool. We’ll definitely be coming back!
AND– forgot to mention how pleasant the front desk associates were, and the turkey sandwich!

Got the Cavallo Point Signature Massage. Bodyworker Nathan James carefully listened to my list of aching points and performed a deep-​tissue massage that released tension and relaxed my entire body. The offer to choose amongst seven oil fragrances with an olfactory blind test is a plus.
I felt rejuvenated and liberated from stress locked in my body. Thank you, Nathan. Will certainly come back for more!

My wife and I have stayed at the lodge before, dined at the restaurant, and really enjoyed the spa amenities they have to offer.
That said, for our anniversary a few weeks back, we decided to spoil ourselves with a nice «couples massage.»
As two people that work in education, spending $ 320 for a massage was a splurge for us and we had this planned over a month ago. In short, we were very excited.
Sadly, we could not have been more disappointed.
At around 4:37, we noticed there was no one to retrieve us for our massages while other couples were being escorted up to their rooms, so I had to ask someone from the front desk to find out what was going on.
At 4:40 we were told that our therapists were «no shows» and they would find someone else to give our massages. I was curious why we were not told earlier and why I had to find someone to tell us this.
At 4:45 we were introduced to two therapists who would give us a massage and we were led to our rooms. We were then informed we would not be given a full 1 hour massage on account of starting late. Very disappointing.
At 4:50 our massage began. To start, I was surprised given that it was our anniversary and being asked on the phone if «it was for a special occasion» that there was nothing in the room that suggested it was for an anniversary and no one asked us if we were celebrating anything. Again, disappointing. Regarding the massage, the woman who treated me finished «early» and spent about 10 minutes massaging my face when I told her up front I had tension in my shoulder blades. In short, I left tense not relieved.
At 5:30 when the massage ended, we left feeling incomplete. We did not get a full hour massage, but a mere 40 minute one. It was short, raced, and stressful.
Doing the math when all was said and done, I realized that we basically got cut off over 25% (15 – 20 minutes) of the massage we paid for; however, when I went to the counter to pay – expressing my profound disappointment – I was given no apology for the inconvenience, and was then told I would only be given 20% off which means we were basically paying for 5 – 10 minutes of time each we were never given. Is this standard operating procedure when things like this happen?
To sum up, I am really disappointed with everything that transpired at our spa on this date and I honestly regret the accolades I’ve given to a number of friends given the great time we’ve had in the past.
If you want a relaxing spa experience that’s well worth your money there are many better options in the area.

This spa is THE spa. Massages are a bit expensive compared to standard spas, but with the quality and pampering you receive during your service and THE AMENITIES, $ 150 for a spa day is totally worth it.
Get a treatment and that includes luxurious steam room, whirlpool (private mens/​womens) and a coed outdoor therapy pool which is HEAVEN. It’s about 90 degrees so you can enjoy lounging in it any time of year… I’ve even used it when it was 50s and misting out, and it’s still nice. The best is to sit out there when it’s sunny, mild, birds chirping… ahhhhhhhhhh.
The waiting area is so cozy. You can curl up by the fireplace (or fire pit outside) to read, zone out, whatever. They have lots of magazines and books there already, or bring your own. They even have a little paint set if you want to get artsy.
There is fresh fruit available for a complimentary snack, and also light lunch and detoxing smoothies available for purchase. Their seasonal soups are very good — salads are pretty bland so opt for a sandwich or the soup and assorted nuts.
There is also herbal tea and pitchers of cucumber-​lemon water all around — drink up!
Plan on arriving at least one hour prior to your treatment so you can enjoy the extras. Parking can be a bit tricky when the resort is busy… drive down the main road in front of the resort, past the valet and follow the signs exiting the resort/​self park. The spa is located just past valet only parking lot, so turn right and the spa lot is right there. There are two more lots just past that, or you may find a spot on the street by the housing to the east of the spa building.
ENJOY! This is the ultimate getaway when you can’t actually get away… or perfect for a pampering day with friends or family (bring your mother or gift a spa day here to your partner and they will be SO happy).

I have come here to get two facials at the healing spa in the past year, they were wonderful. The resort itself is located in such a beautiful area, it’s quiet, clean, not crowded, parking was easy. I really loved my experience mid week. They provided robes, sandals and lockers in a small locker room which I really prefer. Also, in the locker room were all the things a woman needed to get ready after the steam room, sauna, pool visit or spa service. There were hair dryers, vanity sinks, towels etc. I am not impressed by the meditation pool. Also, I did not like waiting for my appointment in a robe in an area where there were other guests and maintenance workers walking around, just several other men really.

I got decent massage (really cannot complain), what disappointed me was the spa.
The whole place has a ski lodge feel rather than zen feel. I was really surprised how little would fix a lot
1. Tables are dirty, really dirty.
2. Ski lodge is one big room with very little privacy (yes even people walking up the road can see you) — perhaps plants separating the tables and few trees in the hill would help
3. Speaking of plants — those on the tables are plastic
4. Service is actually bad, they are all just running around and I saw several times people asking «do you work here?» — proper uniforms would solve it
5. Large wooden stairs are just crazy noisy — perhaps small decorative carpets would help
6. I was able to hear every word while getting a massage what the person in the room next to us was saying

a poor value.
we went here with a day pass. for $ 65 you get access to the spa grounds, which includes a steam room, a hot tub and a coed warm swimming («meditation») pool. the grounds were nice enough. the steam room has not way to control when it steams and it seems as though it is just on a timer. the hot tub is a bit shlubby, nothing special. the locker room has some nice amenities, although I was a bit perplexed by the presence of shave cream but no razors. the meditation pool is essentially a warm swimming pool.
the staff was overall ok, although the manager was quite rude to us when we unknowingly went clothes optional in the meditation pool, even though we were never told to wear swim apparel, there was no signage, and we were the only people in the entire spa by this time.
overall the experience was quite average and definitely not worth the $ 65 per head. will not be coming back here again.

I had been out to the Spa a couple of times and found the facilities nice when viewed in context of what other day spa alternatives we have in Marin. The setting is unparalleled almost anywhere! When we needed to find a place for our «girls» retreat for a friends 40th Birthday celebration we decided to stay here in the Bay with a night at the lodge and spa treatments for everyone on Sunday. Four of us had massages, with the Birthday Girl, choosing a facial.
Frankly, I had anticipated our time at the spa would be as nice as our stay at the Lodge, which was very nice indeed! The Staff were all helpful and responsive to all our needs, the room in the historic section of the hotel was fun, roomy for all 5 of us and well stocked with little «treats»! However, not so with the Spa experience. The facilities are VERY crowded on a weekend. The locker rooms small, inadequate toilet and showers for the number of patrons, and the meditation pool small considering Lodge guests and Spa guests share the space. The Jacuzzi area is VERY small, facilitating only about 4 persons comfortably.
All of us that had massages had no complaints about the services. That being said, our Birthday Girl who has a facial by Gail, came out of her special, relaxing birthday treat in tears! Apparently, Gail had spent the entire hour berating her for not cleansing her skin properly, not taking care of it with the proper lotions and potions (pushing her hard to purchase the products sold at the spa), and making her feel unattractive on a birthday that is a sensitive one for all of us ladies! She is trying to have a baby and has gone of birth control, causing her skin to react and to break out. She needed tender, concerned care, not a critical diatribe!
All and all, disappointing for me, spending a good amount of money for what was supposed to be a celebration. I will think twice before recommending anyone else spend their time and money at this spa.

Extremely disappointed with the tea room and services. I am surprised to find out there’s no poor-​side service. It’s awkward and not resort-​like. One of the staffs was going to leave my tea pot & tea cup plate in the locker room for me to carry to the poor side myself until I asked her to brung them to the poor side for me.
Then I realized that they did not keep the tea leaves for me for 2nd, 3rd infusions. I paid over $ 6 for the tea and I want to savor it a few more infusions. When I ask the staff about it, he informed me that they dumped it. What a waste! This is jasmine pearl tea. You don’t dump the tea leaves after one infusion. The 2nd and the 3rd infusions are more intense flavored and are my favorites. I’m extremely disappointed. I was planning on coming back to try their afternoon tea. Now, I’m not so sure.
The meditation pool and the spa lounge are very nice and tranquil. The shrimp spring rolls I had the day before were fresh and delicious.
