Virgil «Wolf» Schulenburg started Sauk Prairie Harley-​Davidson, Inc. in 1979 and since that time has built a Harley-​Davidson dealership recognized for it’s (17) Gold Bar & Shield Awards. In 1975, while in the Navy, Virgil «Wolf» Schulenburg purchased a 1941 Harley-​Davidson 61 Knucklehead in Seattle, Washington. It was that Knucklehead that he rode home to Wisconsin. He was only 25 years old, when he took the opportunity to buy the Harley-​Davidson dealership in Sauk City, Wisconsin in November of 1979. His determination and hard work helped him ride out the economy and double-​digit inflation of the 80’s and mirror the comeback of the motor company.

The Dealership resides on Phillips Boulevard, Hwy 12 Sauk City since 1979 and has gone through several expansions. We sponsor and participate in a number of local community and charitable events, the largest being our Freedom Ride to benefit Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) To date we have raised over a million dollars and have been consistently recognized as one of the top five contributing dealerships in the country.
