The mall is pretty sad but if you live nearby and don’t want to drive too far, this will do. I do have to give 5 star to the family room near the food court. There’s a changing pad so it makes thing a lot easier. Food court option is pretty good; no burger king, taco bell or McD bullcrap. Wayback burger just opened and the beef is pretty fresh. If you crave for phở, pholicious is great. Next time order the Bun Bo Hue, the soup broth is close to any authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Ctown or Dorchester. The mall is about to lose another store, GAP just announced on their website. Let’s hope there will be new addition and hope to see expansion soon.

Being the creative nerd that I am, I wanted to write something scrappy, hilarious and equally as obnoxious (you know, all relation to the essence of SOM), but the Unilocal search engines beat me to it. How you ask???

Although I disagree to a point with how those three relate to the SOM; Northshore Mall is too KLASSY for SOM clientele, Condom World has never been visited by the mom and dads of SOM or else or they wouldn’t frequent the mall with their 12 kids, and the baby mall rats of Hot Topic will forever be too young for Hubba Hubba because it’s now closed.
Come here and save yourself a couple bucks — the laughs you’ll get at «Giggles» from a comedian down Rt. 1 is the same you’ll get by simply observing people at the good ol’ Square One, only fo’ free!

Have you ever wanted to step back in time and wonder what the Mystic Mall in Chelsea was like? Maybe you want to travel to a foreign bazaar, complete with non English speakers and women covered up like in Kabul… Look no further than Square One Mall! This is the second coming of the Mystic Mall or a bazaar, complete with BD’s and other fly by night temporary stores. Yuck!

A cesspool of human filth filled with non-​English speaking shoppers AND employees. Not that I expect anything less out of the area, but that’s the last time the I hit a mall that’s not in New Hampshire.

Decent mall, but the stores are mostly the cheap ones, which is a pity. At least they have Victoria’s Secret and Bath and Body Works. But no Coach or Vince or MK.

East Falmouth, MA
If we are in the Saugus area and we need to shop, Square One Mall is our go to location. This mall had a great selection of stores and usually we are able to get through the mall with limited hassle.
We love to shop at Bath & Body, Fashion to Figure as well as hit up the food court. The largest critiques we have is that parking can be a nightmare at times and some of the larger stores get torn up by customers.
That being said, we will continue to shop here while in the area and we have no problem spending countless hours here.

This mall is outdated… But I live close to it and sometimes convenience over quality is a necessity. Parking is convenient, area is easy to navigate around and it is surrounded by numerous restaurant options on route 1…

this mall is OK at best. its close by and good parking. the inside is just dull, kinda depressing but it has your basic stores and thats all it is. basic lay out, easy to navigate… your better off driving 8 more minutes to the northshore mall

If it wasnt for Macys in this mall… it would be the next liberty tree mall. a good number of stores… all crap. Super cheap stuff .and not the good kind of cheap… just.Debs.Rue 21… Rainbows…that useless sword and bamboo plant store… the pet store is ok. the food court kind of crappy too. This feels like a teen hangout spot. If you have a car just drive the extra mile and go to Northshore Mall.seriously. and no… I dont want a damn massage.

Food court is awesome! I was wicked excited by the bubble tea. Stopped in to kill time, but it was great. My wife ate at Wayback burgers she said it was great and filling! Little pricy though.

The only reason I give this mall 2 stars is because I live so close and it has some basic stores. But overall, this mall is a dump and eventually will close and be one of those deserted places kids break into and deface and wonder how people ever shopped there.
The food court… oh god, the food court. When your BEST option is Subway you know there’s a problem. They have a Dunkin but this is Mass… there’s a dunkin on every street corner. The rest is Asian food of an indistinct origin or Taco Bell. Barf.
There’s a cute train in the food court that my son loved riding ($ 3). Too bad when he and another kid got on it wouldn’t start. It wasn’t until the other kid’s father GAVE IT A PUSH that it started working.
Basically, just stay away from the Sears wing. Everything you need is on the Macy’s side.
And if you’re looking to do Santa pictures, remember that budget malls get budget Santas. Go to NorthShore for a much better experience (with everything, really, except maybe parking).

I haven’t been here in years, but it was early on a Saturday and I had some gift shopping to do, so why not. Parking was easy. Stores are typical to most mid-​end malls. Anchors are Macys and Sears. Because I was there early (before 10am on a Saturday), there weren’t massive crowds, the stores were clean and organized and the sales staffs were pleasant. I can only imagine what it will be like in a few hours. If I find a need to go back, early will be the plan!

Coming here I sometimes I feel like I’m back to square one.
I try to avoid the weekends when I know families are entertaining their children, grandparents & out of town guests all at once & decided to bring them to the mall. When I see a pack of 15 (aka a small army) approaching I duck into Newbury comics– or any other close establishment.
The mall has some useful stores– Macy’s, Nordstrom, Sephora, Newbury comics, Rue 21 (tops $ 3), etc. I always park near Macy’s for east access to the less crowded end of the mall.
I’m usually in & out.
*Good luck to the Eminem-​wannabe teens scouting the parameters of forever 21 & H&M looking for dates.

Please kill me !!! Seriously what the hell happened to this mall… If i’m not being forced to walk to the left on a stairwell, I’m being asked if I want a massage. If I want a massage, I’ll go to a spa, or vegas. Certainly not the square one mall. It’s as if they are striving to be the meadow glen mall, but circa 1986 like really bad Tello’s… Place is getting grosser by the day.

I usually only go here when I have something in mind to buy and 80% of the time it’s at Best Buy. I went here today looking for Lenscrafters, walked in through the 2nd floor entrance, went right to the mall map to find the store. Oh, wait, umm, the mall map is gone, wtf?
Walked around 95% of the mall looking for Lenscrafers, couldn’t find it (or a mall map) and left because I had other stuff to do. Got home a bunch of hours later and call Lenscrafters, umm where in the Square One Mall are you? The 5% you didn’t go to, next to Macys.

A little Square One Mall trivia. This place was supposed to be upscale when it replaced the New England Shopping Center. It had a bunch of high end stores including a Betsy Johnson store and high rents. Oooooh, how it has ‘transformed’ over the years.

The stores are great and there’s plenty of cool stores you just don’t get at other area malls. The parking and pedestrian situation are not so great and getting back on rte. 1 when leaving is pretty tricky and scary with the maniac drivers!!!
My experience today included plenty of pushy rude people who don’t say excuse me and pretty much ignore common courtesy norms, but whatevs. The mall, overall was clean, except for the food court– it was very very messy and there was not a seat in the house.
I like the TJ maxx attached and some of the other larger stores– that’s pretty neat.

This mall has definitely improved in recent years, just not at the exponential rate of growth the Northshore Mall has seen.
It’s cleaner, I personally always find nearby parking, and it has all the stores you could need — the big box department stores, Express, H&M, Victoria’s Secret, Forever 21, Daniel Blaze (world’s cheapest shoes), Filene’s Basement (they still exist), tons of other retailers, and a full food court of two-​star culinary bliss.
I’m not a huge fan of the layout — it’s like a big L; I suppose it could be worse, but for some reason I never know which side of the L I’m in and it takes me a while to get anywhere else. Just a Northshore girl at heart, I guess.

Closest to the house so I kinda am forced to shop here, but always filled with WAY TOO MANY underage, smoking, rude kids… I know I used to be them at one point in life, but now when I am trying to enter with my infant son, it would be nice if you would turn your head to exhale your 2nd hand smoke!!!
Stores are what you would expect… I usually just run into the Childrens Place or Lane Bryant…
