Shining Stars Learning Center

Both of my children have attended Shining Stars since they were 4 months old — and they are now 4 and 2. When we realized we needed childcare, we didn’t have long to find an appropriate placement, and struck out everywhere we went because their DEEC compliance histories were so poor. Then a friend of ours, who happens to work in licensing for the Department of Early Education and Care, recommended SSLC. Thank goodness we found Shining Stars! Our family could not love this school more. The teachers are kind, caring, and appropriately tough when necessary… all summer, we said we couldn’t wait for our youngest son to be whipped into shape by his teachers once September rolled around! Everyone we’ve met at this school genuinely cares for our children and go the extra mile to make sure they are loved, engaged, and safe. They are open and responsive to any concerns a parent or guardian may bring to their attention (because, let’s face it, children are tough and don’t always behave!), and are always looking for ways to improve the school, the curriculum, and the community at large. Shining Stars is a special place, a true gem, and a gift to our family. I can’t recommend them enough.

The staff at Shining Stars Learning Center goes above and beyond to make sure children feel comfortable and loved always. The director is 100% invested in the well-​being of the kids and she goes to great lengths to make sure the school is a fun, safe place for kids of all ages. The staff love their jobs and that is in large part due to the kindness and flexibility of the administrative team. My child absolutely LOVES going to school every day and I know he is learning new things, and more importantly, that he is loved and given the individual attention he needs. I strongly recommend SSLC to anyone in the Saugus area looking for childcare!

I am appalled by the care at this day care! The owner of the school is never there. She doesn’t manage the staff and thus the staff is unhappy. We’ve come in and heard staff openly talk about applying for other jobs. They are unable to give proper supervision and thus many children are bitten and bullied. The owner allows this kind of behavior. They don’t report injuries to the parents until there is an injury that they can’t hide. They do not abide by state privacy laws. They feed the children donuts and lucky charms as snacks. Steer clear of this place!
