Kmart

I have shopped at this store many times and i always leave with the same impression, the management here sucks and must be doing the very minimal to keep the store running. Today i stopped by to do some pre-​holidays shopping, For starters i’m nearly 80% certain that every employee in this store is either distantly related or friends etc. About half the employees i seen were over the age of 50, the place was dirty and extremely trashy and to top it off every time i would run into an employee they were gossiping about the store with their co-​workers.
Upon checking out i noticed again all of the cashiers are seniors, not that i have anything against that but in retail their should be an certain level of speed requirements. The lady finishes scanning the items and i pay, Upon bagging my things — instead of walking over to another register and getting an bigger bag, she opts to grabbing one of the huge 40gallon trash bags and stuffing my purchases inside.
Meanwhile all of this is going on, I hear the customer behind me complaining about something to the manager and the manager completely blew her off and continued walking; then i see yet another customer calling out the manager and she ignores her as well to the point that one of the customers got aggressive with the manager and another employee had to intervene. Why is this store still continuing to operate? that’s my question.

Was in here today w/​my mom because she was looking for a rug. We left after about 5 mins because this store is just so dirty and depressing. Its very run down too. This is honestly the most disgusting place. Stay away.

All the pictures taken of the odd findings in this K-​Mart are quite strange yet believable. You could find spilled coffee and open bottles of Smirnoff on counters. There is absolutely no sense of cleanliness or organization in this department. Even simple things like the worker at the register giving me a receipt that went down to my knees. K-​Mart is pretty much a tourist site for all Unilocalers. The only reason this place didn’t receive a one star rating is because you’ll manage to make it out of there alive. Somewhat.

Good Lord is this place AWFUL. You have roughly 10 – 12 registers but only 1 – 2 people working them all the time? Why? No one there is in any type of hurry to help on the register either. I have even heard an employee say to another as the lines grew longer ‘i will not go up there, i hate doing register’ Also you can barely get a stroller/​carriage through the line cuz it’s so tight? Why? get rid of 3 – 4 registers and it will open the place up and make it more comfortable for everyone. It’s not like you ever have 10 employees on registers anyway Its like a ghost town in there when searching for an employee also ???

5 stars tonight for being consistently lazy. Called 3 times, waited on hold for 10 – 12 min twice, without reaching dept. I requested, asked for manager, waited 6 min then got the original dept. I asked for the first 2 times. I was too aggravated at that point to even ask them any question or think aboutspending a dime there. Not happy with the service by any means.

Really… This location needs help! Super unorganized, dirty, and expensive. Some of the food and office supplies I could have got for much less at the brand new Walmart down the street. The staff are friendly and nice, yet if there isn’t a line, and only one register open– it’s a dead giveaway, this place won’t be here much longer. I still really wish Milford didn’t get done away with…

Absolutely disgusting. Has a great selection and prices, but the isles are absolutely gross. I Suggest you go to Target or Walmart.

This place is a wreck. The isles are always a mess, nothing is ever hanging on the right price rack. I mostly just come here to buy fishing gear but it never matches up with the price on the rack and pray to god there’s no one in line ahead of you because either the cashier will be taking they’re time or the computer will freeze and no one seems to know how to fix it so after about 10 minutes of waiting the manager will just reset it. Even if your coming in real quick to pick something up plan on being in there for at least 30 min. Can you believe they cut down the trees so you can see this place from the highway?

I called them on 2÷8÷2013 around 7:30 PM and nobody picked up the phone.

Tried to buy a 367.00 treadmill today. No one able to help me? First guy Louis too busy on his cell… second girl unsure who can take my sale since I was buying item now but picking up later. 3^rd woman says sorry that isn’t how they usuallydo it and not sure how to proceed. I left and they lost a big sale!!!

Most of the products on the shelves here are cheap junk made in China. I returned everything for a refund and showed the store manager how a pair of vice grips had no Quality Control. simple christmas items were not assembled properly. The manager was in agreement.
American consumer simply do not care where things are made.

I’m someone who really values finding savings, so after some price-​checking, I realized that Kmart has the least expensive paper products available in the Saugus area (paper towels, tissues, and toilet paper), even compared to places like Target and Costco. So, every couple of months, I take a deep breath and go to Kmart, grimacing at the dank building and dirty feel as I try to get out of there as fast as possible.
Well, NO MORE. No amount of savings is worth the frustration of going to this particular branch of Kmart. I have tried going in the morning, afternoon, and evening, and the experience is always the same: the wait is UNBELIEVABLE. There are never enough check-​out lines open, and every single time I go, I wait 20+ minutes (and we’re not talking the Christmas season here). This morning was no exception, and I counted six other employees walking around in the general area, greeting one another, but not having an ounce of customer service sense among them. No one greeted the seven of us waiting in the single line. One woman finally suggested that the jewelry counter could check some of us out. That was another wait of over ten minutes, because there was some glitch with her cash register. Mind you, this is the NORM. They are woefully understaffed and underqualified, even to provide a modicum of actual service.
I used to be in the retail business, and I know how difficult that type of work can be. Still, that being said, I cannot believe, in this day and age, that a reputable company would consider this good for their image and store brand. Kmart powers-​that-​be: you HAVE to know that this store is a problem. Fix it, or you’ll lose more customers (like the people ahead of me in line who walked off in a huff, abandoning their purchases, and like me, who will never go into that store ever again).

Havent been a Kmart fan in years and then for Xmas was browsing the flyers and they actually had some cool gifty things on sale so I went in for a look…
Well considering I can shop at the bottom of a dumpster Im not suprised I walked out spending over $ 200…
They actually had some good deals & prices comparable to Walmart (My Fave store in the world)!!!
Always kinda busy & crazy in the parking lot but will probably stop in alot more often!

There is bad, and then there is this…
You know that burning in the back of your throat when you upchuck a little, here I experienced it. Just walking in the door I nearly tripped on an abandoned tricycle. This place is horrid, reminicient of a building #19, just as dank, just as dark, the only difference, this is crap at full price.
It was almost like I was teleported to Tijuana, when I walked in these doors, yup, the service counter guy, when I looked at him, he said, «Hola». When I looked around, I realized I was the odd one out, I was the guy who spoke english.
This place is a mess, lots of clearance, but no prices on the items, half of the items in the store, although they had mylars (the little labels that tell you what you are looking at, and have a price), the price area was blank. This especially true in the garden area. I had hoped to get end of season clearance in the garden department, but nothing had prices, nothing!
Leaving the garden area, I wanted to check out the patio furnature, instead there was a woman demonstrating lint rollers, and how good they work on suits. Suits… Nobody here wears a suit… ever. She did have a crowd gathered around, and unfortunately took up the whole patio area, so i moved on.
Kmart… you lost a sale, not that I was going to buy anything anyway, but its the notion…
Also in this plaza, a seasonal halloween store in a vacant storefront with a cardboard «help wanted» sign, and a stop and shop that looks beautiful from the outside, not so much on the inside, but you can read all about that in another review.

When I used to go to Kmart as a kid, it was like Sears or Target, now its just plain dirty.
Ok so after I had finished all my christmas shoping, I was on my way home and realized I forgot boxes, and seeing as I was next door to this Kmart when I remembered, it only made sense to stop in.
When you first walk in, you are greeted by a yellowish brown floor that appears to of been white at one point. One you get past the decorum, you become aware of a complete lack of orginazation. Exhibit A, the dvd section… not even alphabatized… I eventually got a head ache and left. Exibit B. the seasonal section… boxes were just everywhere, no ryhme no reason.
When I asked for help the staff was helpfull however slightly less then pleasent, I mean I know it was the holiday season but I have seen more pleasent staff in morgues… don’t ask. When I wasat the cashier it seemed like she wasn’t very happy to be there I was waiting for the inevitable anouncement…“attention KMart shoppers… we hate you“
Bottom line just go to Target, the 20 cents you might save are not worth shoping in the aroma of old ass that eminates from the big K.

Now I know everyone is in love with Target and Wal-​marts are few and fair in between in the Boston area (and the ones I’ve been to in Quincy and Framingham suck SO BAD). The clothing departments are definitely better at Target then Kmart, but Kmart has everything you need all the time. Target only seasonally carries lawn and garden department stuff, Kmart has one year round. Ever try buying a rack in October at Target? Can’t do it, but Kmart has them. Kmart has a great outdoor and camping section and has a decent shoe department. I’ll admit it — Kmart is my go-​to store. The one in Saugus is really nice by Kmart standards but the one in Braintree is definitely the Taj Mahal of Kmarts.

Well you know… it’s a K-​Mart. What can I say. I don’t usually shop here but I might start dropping by more often to find good deals on general household items.
I write this review because the other day, in search of specific Halloween décor, and having no luck, I found myself near this store and decided «What the Hell, can’t hurt».
And it didn’t!
Having seen a creepy decoration on-​line that involved an urn, I went into their now practically desolate garden center to browse. I noticed huge ceramic plant pots from Martha Stewart (originally $ 40.00) for $ 9 bucks! But in a corner I found the mother load. Sitting upside down were two large fiberglass urns. The urns had no tickets and one was damaged with a spot the size of my hand where the Fiberglass had been crushed. I picked them up and proceeded to the checkout to enquire on the price. Luckily the «child» that was working the yard that day was busy with another customer. That’s when the store manager came by and asked if I needed help. I said I wanted to know the price of the urns and told him that one was quite damaged. He looked them over and went into the yard to find something to compare them to. There wasn’t anything. He said, «I’ll give them to you for $ 6 each.» Ya. I took those bad boys home knowing that I got them for a steal! Urns like these retail at high end shops for $ 50 or more. I was even able to fix the damage on the broken urn.
I was also able to find other Halloween items that I just couldn’t find elsewhere (or did find but for a ridiculous price (Joann’s Fabrics!) for great prices.
Looking for Gortraits? Kmart was the only store that had them and for $ 6 a piece! Even Target on-​line couldn’t beat that price!
The store is old. It hasn’t been brought up to date like the big Super K’s have. Its layout is abysmal and I find it difficult to shop. It is not very clean but it isn’t atrocious. Or a better way to put it is: It’s not all bright and shiny. It’s rather dim florescent and dingy.
Another thing: the second time I visited they only had one register open and a VERY long line of people waiting with a multitude of items. They never opened another register while I was there.
Still worth a shop however and it sure beats the F-​ing Wal*Mart on the Lynnway any day for the same items at the same price.
