What a fun inexpensive place to watch a ball game. Ticket prices are cheap, Thursday night is ladies night and they offer ladies special, the kids always have a chance to be selected to play a game We were there for a work event, and we were drinking a beer, heads up the beer cups have a magnet in the bottom because they fill from the bottom… this is your public service announcement dont push up the magnet you will be wearing your beer.
If you have limited money this is the place to take your family, a different place for a ladies night and to watch a future major league baseball player.

This is the best sporting event you could attend as a family. Games in between innings and a kids parade for the seven inning stretch. Amazing playground for the little ones and nice beer selection for mom and dad. The one thing I think could improve is the supervision of the play area. It should really be up to the children’s parents but we all know not everyone is involved with their kids. Also huge thumbs up for good food that is only a little over priced it’s much more affordable then going to a cards game and the kids like it a lot more!

Even if you’re not into sports, the food makes a trip to see the Gateway Grizzlies totally worth it. I *love* the krispy kreme burger ($ 5). It was the perfect size to be filling and satisfyingly sweet and savory, without inducing a heart attack. The burger patty is about the size of a McD’s cheeseburger, then there’s a piece of cheddar, two slices of bacon and 2 halves of a krispy kreme donut as the bun. The same concession stand by the kids playground also has great philly cheesesteak nachos ($ 6) and fries ($ 3.50). The nachos have a generous amount of chips, shredded steak, grilled onions, and white cheese sauce. For those wanting an adult beverage other than beer, they also have good frozen drinks. I had some type of frozen mango drink that was very good.
We rented a picnic table for a group. For $ 36, you get a reserved picnic table and 6 tickets, and it’s right by the kid’s play area and food concessions. Definitely a fun, cheap night out!

As much as I love my Cardinals, I absolutely adore going to see the Grizzlies every summer. You can try and catch home runs in the $ 5 lawn seats in right field and eat a bacon cheeseburger on a grilled Krispy Kreme bun for about the same price or less than a hot dog at Busch. Obviously the quality of play isn’t going to be the same, but I have a lot of difficulty complaining about that when my girlfriend and I can get tickets, food, and beer for less than $ 50.

Visited this stadium for the first time for my Mr. Beth’s office party, and it’s highly unlikely that we’ll be back if we have a choice in the matter. Their suites are open air and don’t even have outdoor ceiling fans, so it’s pretty miserable when it’s 90 degrees and no breeze. The parking lot isn’t paved, so it’s pretty dusty.
They do have a nice kid’s zone with bounce houses & slides, but most of the slides aren’t really intended for kids under the age of 5 or so. The section that is safe for toddlers is connected to the big kid slides, so it’s a little scary for us over-​protective types. The bigger kids were a little aggro & it would have been nice if they had two separate playgrounds. Also, I wasn’t really impressed with the ground surfacing in the kids area — it was astro turf and didn’t seem as well cushioned as most playgrounds. The bounce houses were definitely NOT for little ones & were pretty dirty looking.
I suppose if you have slightly older kids, live in the area and are into baseball, this is a fine place, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

I love to go see the Gateway Grizzlies. It such a hidden gem in the St Louis area. They have some of the wildest food too. take for example their burger between two krispy kremes. Mmmm. They also have philly cheesesteak nachos… mmmmm. My family came for the 4 of July game and got to see the firework display after the game which was just awesome. Parking was free. So all you have to pay for is your tickets which are pretty cheap compared to going downtown to the Cards game and food if you want it. The concession prices aren’t too bad either.

Given the chance to go to the Grizzlies game a few weekends ago, we jumped on it as we had never been.
Located a mere 15 miles from South County, we were there in no time and parking was very accessible. The group we were with had our tickets at their company table, picked them up in no time and got right inside the stadium.
I had been to other minor league games of this sort and the Grizzlies did not disappoint. There is no bad seat in the stadium but you do need to make sure you keep your eye on the ball or it might land in your lap without you knowing. The concession stands did not disappoint in their selections or their pricing. They are famous for their Krispy Kreme burger, which I saw a few people try but since I’m not a burger fan I bypassed it.
This is a great place for the kiddos. They have a play area and they are always picking kids to go out on the field to do certain activities.
If you need a night out on the town with the family that won’t break the budget, this is the place to go!

The gateway grizzlies stadium is a fun night for all. i have attended several games since it opened. one year they had the Joe Buck Celebrity ball game here.
there is no bad seat. the concession lines are usually short. I have not been able to bring myself to try the Krispy Kreme burger.
the kid zone has been completely redone since we would take the nephew. It is a lot nicer and they added blow up bouncy things.
if you want a cheap night for the kids or what not. then definitely go here.

In my humble opinion, the Gateway Grizzlies are a hidden gem of what lies just east of the Mississippi River. About a 20 minute drive from downtown STL, this minor league baseball team makes for a great weekend activity. The ballpark is so inviting, tickets are inexpensive, the spirit for the team is fun, and the food rocks. While the fans might not be 100% into the athletics going on out on the field, there is certainly a lot of energy at the park. The atmosphere is very family friendly with the Grizzlies’ mascot walking around and little activities happening between innings. They even have a playground/​bounce house area for kids.
This ballpark in Sauget, IL provides the perfect small town feel and to me is a nice getaway from the city. One of the fun things about this ballpark is that it is home to «Baseball’s Best Burger», which is a bacon cheeseburger sandwiched between a Krispy Kreme doughnut! You may have seen it featured on the Travel Channel. My boyfriend and I had to try it! While most certainly sinful, it was quite tasty. It’s okay to have that kind of thing every once in awhile, right?! The place also has tons of other food options from nachos to hotdogs to frozen custard! Surprising for such a little ballpark.
If you like baseball, have kids who like baseball, want to experience small town baseball, or want to eat the kind of food they serve at baseball games, check out the Gateway Grizzlies.
Sorry…this is an ill-​timed review. The Grizzlies just finished play for the season last weekend. There’s always next year!

We attended our first Grizzlies’ game this past weekend and had a blast! The ballpark is easy to to get to and parking is free. Their food and beer prices are relatively cheap compared to MLB parks. We enjoyed watching the Grizzlies take on the River City Rascals even though they lost. Both teams were there to play which made it even more enjoyable. I will definitely be back.

GCS Stadium is on Grizzlie Bear Boulevard in Sauget, Illinois, surrounded by cornfields, soybean fields and wheatfields.
The weather was perfect with a balmy breeze and a beautifully painted sky at sundown.
Huge planes, helicopters and F-​15s were landing at the St. Louis Downtown Airport (don’t ask about the name!!) right next door. It was really loud, but we had perfect seats to see those birds. Marine Week celebration.
It was Lindenwood Night, so the Lindenwood Linx was there. .. hammin’ it up with Izzy the Grizzlie! And we got a free Lindenwood beer/​soda cozie when we walked in.
Parking is free. Upon entering (if you intend to imbibe), you go to a booth, show your driver’s license, and get a wristband, so they know to serve you. That also saves time at the concessions, though they weren’t crowded.
Got a dog and a brew. They even had sauerkraut and sliced jalapenos as condiments.
Great seats. Actually, I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the house!
No lines in the clean restroom, at the concessions or at the drinking fountain.
After each inning, they had some type of entertainment. .. a sack race or a mascot race or a parade of children or «Hit the Hippie» with the tennis ball. It was all entertaining.

Wonderful evening. Family of four total bill $ 82. Less than just 2 tickets to a cards game. Lots of family fun promotions. Great fun!

Wow, talk about a fun, cheap date!
The boyfriend and I headed to a Gateway Grizzlies game in August, thanks to a stellar Groupon opportunity — two tickets, two meals for around $ 15 total! You can’t even buy one seat at a Cardinals game for that, once fees are tacked on!
We were really pleased to see that Groupon holders had their own special line and instructions at the ticket will-​call table. The Groupons were for that weekend only, and I loved that the Grizzlies and the stadium planned ahead for the extra people.
We picked up our game and food tickets and headed inside to the concession stand. This, too, was organized really well, and there was a sense of order to the workers and processes inside. I don’t know if it was just because of Groupon weekend or if it’s always like this, but the folks in there did an outstanding job of answering questions, taking orders and getting food out very quickly.
After eating, we walked around the stadium for a bit. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more «weird stuff» to take pictures of and with (so many minor– and independent-​league stadiums have goofy photo ops and statues), but there were plenty of concession stands and even a hot tub!
We took our seats and enjoyed the game. Every seat in the stadium has a great view, and even at non-​Groupon prices, tickets are a steal. The downside of inexpensive tickets is that more kids and hoosiers attend the games, but that sort of adds to the charm in a weird way.
I do wish Metrolink ran to the Grizzlies’ stadium. Parking isn’t a huge hassle there, but it would be nice to not have to worry about if the gravel and dirt will be kicked up onto your car or to worry about getting in or out on major game days.
We’ll definitely return next summer when we get sick of paying high prices for the major leagues across the river — and maybe even before that!

Going to a Grizzlies game is a really good alternative for baseball fans who (1) want to have a really cheap night at the ballpark and (2) have kids.
It’s a really nice stadium — clean, well-​kept, friendly workers. The concessions are amazingly cheap on a regular night, but they even have promo nights where hot dogs and popcorn are only $ 1.
Every seat is a great view and cheap. You can probably stroll up to the box office before a game and still have your pick of seats. Or you can sit behind the outfield fence in your lawn chair.
I don’t have kids, but there seems to be a ton of stuff for kids to do. There’s a separate play area and between innings the announcer guy on the field is always doing some sort of interactive thing for kids and adults to keep everyone entertained.
It’s not as exciting as the major leagues, but can definitely be a fun night out.

I had absolutely no idea that this place was this awesome. Here is my list of reasons why.
(1) This is the cleanest ballpark I have ever been in. I am not kidding. This place is immaculate. I mean, this place is in Sauget. Not somewhere you would normally imagine is sparkling clean. Guess what, it is.
(2) Everyone that works here is so nice. Nice and helpful. Really, at a ballpark.
(3) The food selection is crazy good. They serve shaved ham, pulled pork, burgers on Krispy Kreme Donuts, perogies, and of course, all the ballpark favorites (nachos, pretzels, hot dogs, etc.)
(4) There is a family bathroom at every corner. Do you have any idea how awesome this is when you are there with your 6 month old niece? Incredible.
(5) This place is cheap cheap cheap. Everything is cheap. The food is cheap, the t-​shirts are cheap, the tickets are cheap. The parking is cheap. Actually, what’s awesome is you can get 20 seats for $ 300. Included in that price is beer, water, soda, and the dinner buffet. That’s what, $ 15 a person? Who can beat that for a whole night out?
(6) It’s surprisingly easy to get to. It’s far easier than dealing with the crowds at Busch. Granted, it’s not Major League ball, but that’s part of the fun. It’s a more relaxed atmosphere.
(7) There’s a hot tub out by the outfield. Ok, I’m skeeved by hot tubs, but it’s still novel and cool that they have something like this. Oh, and there’s recliners. So much better than those stiff awful seats at Busch.
(8) This place is VERY family friendly. If you need to have a kid’s birthday party, or you want to take out your whole family or a church group, I highly suggest checking this out. It’s a deal and everyone will have a great time.
