History

Established in 1990.

Chnaro Nursery was opened as a retail plant nursery in 1990 specializing in landscape trees and shrubs. Jay and Jeanne Marcel purchased the 3.3 acre nursery in 2000 and expanded our offering to the wholesale market. In 2004. The nursery expanded into the service side of the green industry offering landscape design and install and irrigation. Today, Chnaro Landscaping has expanded to provide full service landscape contracting services for the commercial and residential markets including, site prep, grading work, drainage, sod, hydroseeding, pavers, pergolas, and outdoor living spaces,

Meet the Business Owner

Jeanne Marcel A.

Business Owner

Jeanne Marcel was born in New Orleans, La. and grew up in Mobile Alabama. Graduated from Springhill College with a B. S in Political Science. She went on to continue her studies receiving to earn a double masters in Exercise physiology and gerontology from Northeastern Louisiana University in Monroe, LA. She was awarded a Teaching Assistantship at Florida State University in pursuit of a Ph. d in motor control. Her family moved to Gulfport, MS in 1996. Jeanne served as an instructor for the MGCCC junior college system until she purchased Chnaro Nursery in 2000. She has been active in all aspects of the family business to date.
