The mission of Great Steps Orthotic and Prosthetic Solutions is to enhance the lives of our patients through the use of properly designed and fit orthoses and prostheses. We understand that each patient is unique and important regardless of abilities or disabilities.

History

Established in 2000.

The vision to create Great Steps Orthotic and Prosthetic Solutions began in the late 1990s. John Held, Certified Orthotist, had envisioned a locally owned Orthotic and Prosthetic company serving Central Minnesota that focused on quality patient care first and bottom line second. It was his belief that properly managing the complexities of his patients, treating his patients as family and maintaining proper communication and relationships with his referral sources would keep his schedule busy enough to earn a living. In 2000, Held incorporated Great Steps Orthotic & Prosthetic Solutions. The area’s need for artificial limbs and their specialized care needs grew and at the end of 2000 Great Steps was joined by Dan Tysver, Certified Orthotist/​Prosthetist. Within one year Great Steps grew to employ 3 practitioners and 3 office employees.
