Steve Liao, DMD

Worst dentist I’ve ever been to in my life. Don’t you find it fishy that his business has 21 reviews, yet 20 of them have been filtered out? Half the reviewer’s have an ‘L’ as their last name, so I’m sure they’re all family. I bet they don’t even trust «Dr.» Liao to be their dental care «professional».
This dentist is a real piece of work. Admittedly, I have crap insurance (Aetna DMO) but that doesn’t mean he can raise his voice when he’s not comfortable answering innocuous questions about something as basic as… the cost of a procedure. When he gave me a quote for a Crown Overlay, it seemed a little high. When I asked him what price cap Aetna capped that procedure at, he became very confrontational. At one point, I was sitting in the chair and he was standing over me, yelling at me. Finally, he took off my bib and told me he didn’t feel comfortable working on my teeth and asked me to leave in the middle of the procedure!!!
All I did was ask him about the pricing because I thought that $ 1,200 for an overlay was a little pricey (especially since this is the second one I needed to get for that tooth). If you trust an aggressive a*hole working on something as sensitive and delicate as your teeth, then by all means, go see him.

My parents have been seeing Dr. Steve Liao for 10+ years now. From Basic oral hygiene to deep cleaning to extractions to crowns, every procedure was explained in details and done RIGHT. I’m glad that their old teeth are well taken care of.
Highly recommend Dr. Steve. He is a tooth Angel.

The office is Super efficient. Clean. Modern. Great support staff. Dr Liao was very informative and took time to explain things most dentists have never taught me about the anatomy of my teeth. After 4 dentists in the westside, my search is over. I am a forever client. Can’t get any easier. I’m already looking forward to my next cleaning. GO THERE!

Since moving to the area year and a half ago I’ve been coming to Dr Liao’s clinic and it’s the best dentist I’ve had. He and the staff make the periodic checks thoroughly and are attentive to ones needs. They even show movies while you are at the clinic. I’ll highly recommend to anyone.

It is very hard to find a good dentist. Steve Liao, D.D.S. is five stars. I have been going to him for over 3 years. He is very gentle and patient when working on my teeth. He explains what he is about to do before he does it so you will be aware what he is doing while you are sitting in the dentist’s chair. I still get very nervous sitting on the dentist chair but his calm demeanor help relax me.

I’ve been coming to this dentist for over seven years and I have only good things to say about the place. From the moment you walk in from the nice receptionist to the nice waiting area (free movies while you wait) and to the actual dentist, everything is on point and feels as if the dentist office is catering to my needs.
I have a fear of needles, almost like a phobia, but Dr. Liao has a way of calming my nerves to make what would be a terrifying experience into a pleasant suprise when I visit the dentist office. He is very detail oriented, never takes shorts cuts, which is exactly what you want in a dentist. His professionalism and care he gives to his patients is unsurpassed and hard to find now a days.
I would highly recommend Dr. Liao and his staff to any of my friends and family.

I would like to recommend Dr. Liao to anyone needs a great and quality treatment. My last experience with a dentist was awful and I didnt want to go again. My husband find Dr. Liao here in Unilocal.He and his wife are just amazing professionals and people. They are so friendly and make you feel very confident. Dr. Liao has been my dentist for a couple of years. I am VERY satisfied with the experience. Most importantly, he is very thorough and patient. No matter whether it’s filling a cavity or routine cleaning, he takes the same care. Never once was I rushed. Dentistry is not rocket science. But to have a long lasting fix, it really requires the doctor’s attention to detail and thoroughness of the work. Dr. Liao is also very conservative and frank — when something is not clear, he will always wait and observe. He never suggests something that’s only gonna make me happy or push me for some unnecessary operation.
With the addition of members to my family, I am sure they will all become Dr. Liao’s regular:-)

Dr. Steve is great! My husband and I have been going to him for the past few years and it’s always a pleasant experience. I hated going to the dentist growing up, but Dr. Steve makes the process seem painless. He is very thorough and friendly. Everyone in the office makes you feel right at home the minute you walk into the door. If you are looking for a friendly and honest dentist, then you should definitely check him out! :)

Steve is by far the most professional and dentist that I know. I have been a patient of his for the last seven years. He is very straight forward and concerned with his patient’s well-​being. In my case, I have a very bad problem with occlusion or teeth grinding. Patiently and diligently, Steve has always helped deliver ways to prevent further damage from this problem and as a result greatly improved my dental and overall health.
He is willing to work with his patients from a budgetary standpoint which is also very rare as he will craft the best plan of care for you based on your dental insurance plan or lack there of.
I can’t recommend his services enough. His staff is equally qualified and eventhough I have moved to Redwood City still gladly commute sometimes over 40 minutes to his practice.
