Wonderful Jr-​K program! Highly recommended for any child near the Kindergarten cut off date (July-​Dec birthdays). So happy with the teachers and curriculum. Challenging across so many different levels. Already looking forward to enrolling my daughter in this program in a couple years.

Is Junior-​K right for my child? This is a question I asked myself more than once in the months before my son was scheduled to start kindergarten. However, when I toured the program and met the teachers at SPP many of those questions were answered.
The program is very good at providing opportunities for the kids to learn not just academics but social skills as well. The letter a week themes as well as the «Handwriting without Tears» program built a firm foundation for my son to start reading/​writing quickly. The art projects and cooking centers were very well planned and were multilayer in the learning for the kids. These kids were «working» on their pincher grip and math skills without even knowing it. There is a religious aspect to the class content but it is not overpowering and teaches the kids just basic information about Christianity.
Teacher Lisa and her assistant Michelle were awesome in the JK classroom. Teacher Lisa cares about her student’s development which is evident in how she interacts with the kids as well as the parents. We appreciated the extra efforts she made over the year for our family. Each day we would receive a quick email with the highlights of the day as well as some fun pictures of activities in the class. These served as great conversation prompts with «what did you do at school today?» discussions. The curriculum Teacher Lisa has developed for the Jr. K program is dense with layers of learning. One of the best parts of the program is the kids are having so much fun while they learn. The SPP Director Sherri always made herself available to answer any questions we had as well as assist with fieldtrips and activities to ensure that these events went smoothly.
We completed this program in May of 2013 and it was a year well spent for my son. The «gift of a year» really helped him build confidence both socially and academically. The SPP program was integral in him reaching these goals.

SPP’s Jr. K program is a gift to all children waiting one more year to enter Kindergarten. The benefits are huge here and they also have school for 3’s, 4’s and 5 year olds. Reasonable tuition includes science, play based learning, field trips, cooking, learning how to fail with grace and moving on, weekly indoor gymsters, chapel time, learning the real meaning of Christian Holidays, gardening, lunch time in the grove, and an outdoor large play structure and running area. Hands down, this is the place for our children and they have grown tremendously through the years with Miss Pattie (3 yr olds), Robyn (4 yr olds), and Lisa (5 yr olds). Miss Sheri is the director and we’ve never had such a positive experience with ongoing and regular communication with other programs. We tried Montessori and it didn’t work for our children because they prefer play based learning instead of worksheets. The philosophy also met our needs as parents. Give them a try, it is worth it!

My son has been attending SPP for the last two years. He has grown and developed so much in his time there. I couldn’t have asked for a better preschool experience. I am very greatful for the care and devotion of all his teachers and look forward to my daughter beginning SPP in the Fall. If you are looking for a Christian program that encourages a love of learning, values each child’s unique gifts and talents, and creates and fosters a safe and loving community SPP is the place to send your children.

I love this school so much that it moved me to sign up for Unilocal just so I could review it. I’m only sorry that our older two children did not have the opportunity to attend… only Kid #3. We have been through numerous preschool and elementary schools now, and SPP stands out for several reasons: 1) skilled, trained, professional, enthusastic teachers across the board, 2) great director (organized, articulate, returns calls/​emails promptly) 3) great facility (clean, bright, well-​maintained, ample/​safe parking lot), 4) great, child-​centered curriculum. I could go on and on (as moms are prone to do), but really, just go check it out. I guarantee that you will be glad to drive the extra distance if necessary (as I do!) just to give your child (and yourself) the gift of attending this wonderful preschool.

Amazing teachers at this child centered school. Great teacher to student ratio. They have a great Jr. Kindergarten program as well as traditional classes for 3 and 4 year olds. Highly recommend checking it out!
