There isn’t a low enough rating for these people; from the dispatcher to the driver, to the filthy cab and the incredibly BAD service! I think Attila the Hun would have been a better experience. And can you imagine? There’s no City of Sarasota department to handle complaints! JERKS!!!

Needless to say, less than stellar service; rude drivers, questionable mechanics on cars & vans that are apparently in disrepair. The driving conduct & complete disregard for the rules of the road by this company’s drivers should be no wonder why über is excelling while lacklustre yellow cab service is declining. If you’re into action, adventure, and in contemplation of whether you will arrive to your destination in tact, Yellow Cab of Sarasota is for you.
I’ll call über next time.

I called the phone number on their website to inquire about cab and town car service to the airport. My husband and I almost always use car services because we travel 99% of the time. The lady who answered the phone was rude, short with her answers and unprofessional. In fact, she was so rude that I asked if I had reached her at a bad time because she was coming across short and rude to me and didn’t appear to want to answer my questions. Unfortunately, that didn’t change anything so I politely ended the call. Needless to say, I will not be using nor referring anyone to their services.

Called them today at 10:30am to get a ride from my office in downtown Sarasota to Lido Key because I didn’t want to bother with parking. When I called, they said the driver would pick me up in 30 minutes. The driver called within 15 minutes and was super nice. Worked out great.
I was at the beach and wanted a ride back to downtown Sarasota. I called at 4:44. The person who answered the phone said it would be 45 minutes before the driver could pick me up. Fifteen minutes later, at 4:59, the driver called me to pick me up. I didn’t answer because I was at the beach, not watching my phone and expecting them to be there at 5:30 like they said. At 5:15 I listened to the message they left and went to find cab but they had already left.
I called Yellow Cab to ask if they were close and if cab could come back. The person answering the phone days «Dude, this is a very busy time. Everyone wants to leave the beach.» I reminded him that he said 45 minutes. He said, «Dude, we are really busy and you should be watching your phone.» I eventually just hung up on him because he was rude and I called someone else.
The person answering the phone needs some customer service lessons.

Used Yellow cab this morning from Sarasota airport. They are not honest about the cost of the taxi. I was told it would be 3.75 pu fee then 2.10 per mile. .then was charged 48.00 for a 17.8 mile trip? ?? The are theives. …

Driver was terrible. Wait time was much longer than told it would be. Dispatch gave us a price, but cab driver charged double the fare, stating «dispatch doesn’t know what she’s talking about.» Also a rude driver and didn’t drive with a/​c despite it being over 90 degrees and fully sunny

Scariest cab ride ever. He’s 65+ and definitely drives like it. Florida is scary… But did I die?! Windows down and raining. Not a good combo. Quoted $ 30 but paid $ 60.

I used three different drivers for my parents over a period of 3 days.
1st driver was great.
2nd driver was hired to pick them up at 2 pm for a 2:30 doctor’s appt. (which was a mere 8 minutes away) and then wait 20 minutes during the appt to bring them home. He arrived 30 minutes early and made them sit in the waiting room the whole time. Instead of waiting for them (since he was so early) he left them at the doctor and didn’t come back. After the appt they called Yellow Cab again and a 3rd driver was sent – after they were forced to wait another 45 min for pick up. On the way home, they gave him the address for a CVS 4 minutes from their house to stop en route. This guy drove all over the place confident he could find it. He never used his GPS and eventually my parents asked him just to take them home.
Worst of all, I found out later that night that the last two drivers ripped them off by over charging by 2x what it should have been. I called to complain and found out that the price the drivers had in their books did NOT match what they asked my parents to pay. My complaint was met with the explanation that my parents were just confused or mistaken. Really?
Stay far away from this company.

So I called yellow cab and explained that i had to get from the mall (where I was dropped off by a friend) to the ER because my relative had an emergency. I was told to wait 25 minutes. Well I finally saw the cab arrive and some chick hops in the car and off they go! I immediately called yellow cab and they told me that I was right and they would be right back. Well, I waited and when I called back they said that the cab driver had decided to drop off that chick and would come back to get me. Really? Well, he did come back thank goodness and delivered me to the ER but I really think that cab drivers need to check the name of the person that they are picking up when they arrive at their destination point.

This is one star only because you can’t review with anything less. We called for a ride for our group of six at 10 pm on a Sat night and we told 25 – 30 min. We didn’t think that was unreasonable given the size of the group, but we were left waiting for 45 min before we called back. to be told 10 more min…15 min later we called again as the location we were waiting at had closed leaving us waiting outside. This time we were only told «shortly, we’re backed up». Half our group decided to just walk the three miles back to our resort to get our car. Two of our group couldn’t walk that far due to an injury. 1 hour and 15 min later the cab finally showed up!!! Needless to say we told him to shove off, our group at that point had made it back to get our car and were on their way to get us. An hour and 15 min is ridiculous! We will never call this taxi company again, really put an damper on our vacation night out.
