History

Established in 1999.

Tropical Shores Beach Resorts was purchased by a local family in 1999, Tropical Sun was purchased shortly thereafter, and then SaraSea is the latest addition. This collection of 70 units is situated within steps of the #1 Beach in the US according to Dr. Beach in 2011. With numerous awards, accolades and positive guest reviews, Tropical Beach Resorts has become a favorite destination for vacationers to return to time and time again.

Dawn has been with the Resort before it was even owned by the current family! Dawn knows every in and out of the property. She and the rest of the Tropical Beach Resorts team is dedicated to making every guest have the most amazing vacation experience possible and sharing local knowledge is a huge part of that. All of the team have lived and worked on Siesta for many years and consider the resort an incredible place to work. We deeply care about everyone’s time spent here and want to help make memories for years to come. So make sure to come into the office and say hello!

This place is a real gem! The room is light with windows on 2 sides. My room had a queen bed, dresser, FULL kitchen with everything from plates to toaster to juicer! Stove with oven, full-​sized refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The room was VERY quiet, and I had guests on both sides. The grounds are beautiful and tropical with shuffleboard, pool, bar-​b-​q grill, and private path to the beach. Toys and other amenities available beachside. Parking is tight – as is the bathroom. Maid service daily. Will gladly re-​book!

This is our go to place every time we’re here, 3 times now. Good location, just 2 min walk to the beach, they have a swimming pool for day/​night, quiet place, wife loves the free yoga class by the beach on sat morning (instructor was good she said), you can chill outdoors as they have outdoor tables/​chairs, a gazebo w/​furnitures and 2 grillers if you want grill your own food, they have a fridge/​microwave/​dishwasher, cabinets have plates/​glass, have a stove/​oven. It’s like our 2nd home with a beach. 7⁄11 is just across the street too.

We had a great experience at the hotel. The beach was only minutes away from the hotel. Our kids got to play in the pool (which wasn’t very crowded) and play shuffle board a lot. The kids lived going to the front desk for beach towels because they got to swipe a candy every time they went. We watched a couple DVDs you could check out at the front desk as well. Taking away 1 star as my kids could feel the mattress wiring from a pull out couch, the bathroom was too small (needs more shelf space) and the fridge opened the wrong direction and was hard to close.

Recently, spent a week here. Great location. The staff was very hospitable and polite as well as the other guests. They had sand toys left from previous visitors and chairs. We left 4 boogie boards and our sand toys for future guests.
The onsite laundry makes packing light an option as well as being within walking distance to restaurants and grocery.
The rooms and grounds were clean. Great place to stay with kids.

Nice clean room, everything you need in the small cute room. Quick walk to the beach the staff is friendly, the pool was clean and the beach was great.
I’m not one to do the same thing twice no matter how great it was there is way too much out in the work to experience but if I do, def a bigger room.

There are so many choices to stay at on Siesta Key and we tried to research as best we could and booked 4 rooms at the Sara Sea property. We were so glad we did! This place «gets-​it» and knows what it takes to deliver great service and more importantly, great rooms.
Our group had some pretty picky folks and they were impressed. it was like a high-​end condo.
We were surprised by the amenities and features in our room — just a queen bed. It had a full size fridge, stove/​oven, dishwasher, micro, coffee pots, etc. It was fantastic! The grounds within the resort were amazing with a lot of public spaces filled with palm trees and lush plants and flowers. The free beach chairs and towels were great and met our needs perfectly.
Although we were not right on the water, it was a short walk. The beach area did get pretty packed and to walk from the start of the beach area to the waters edge involved walking around, over, through and between other groups large spreads of blankets, canopy’s and chairs. But the beach was VERY nice, and the water was amazing.

Love love love Tropical beach resort! When we arrived we were cheerfully greeted by the registration staff at a very welcoming office where they offer lemonade, coffee, water, and DVD movies to watch in your room. Another wonderful staff, Sunday, told us the nearby restaurants we should try and the things that we should do. THEN, we went to our room and it was SO pretty. There was a pillow on our bed that said Smile, the kitchen area was very comfortable, the bathroom had a jacuzzi bathtub that made us relax completely and the little details such as a special towel to remove makeup were thoughtful. Very, very comfortable and relaxing. After unloading, we changed and headed for the private beach. We picked up beach chairs and towels and really loved the beach! We had no problem extending the checkout time to 11 and when we checked out we were ultra mellow and happy with the whole experience. We will be back!

Great place. I think me and hubby found our annual vacay spot! SUPER NICE staff. They have so many activities on location. About a quarter a block walk to the white sandy beach! FREE beach towel AND beach chair use (you just have to sign it out at the front desk and return it by the end of the day). Nice intimate rooms. Up to date appliances. We stayed next door to a couple who has been coming to this place every yr for FORTY ONE YRS!!! What does THAT say about this place!!!

Check out is 10:00, but you can move your car to guest parking and still use the beach chairs and towels to lounge on the beach (our flight wasn’t until 4:30 pm, so what better thing to do but lounge on the beautiful beach?)

Really Loved this place. walked to the beach, great staff. room was clean, king size bed very comfortable. Pool cleaned daily.
This is a must stay place. If you want to drink without worrying about driving the hotel suggested «jenny’s free ride» it’s a taxi service that works on tips only… it’s the greatest thing ever. We used it frequently from the hotel to siesta village where you find variety of places to eat and drink.

We have stayed here many times and love it. 3 min walk to the sand… ahhh.
The staff is always very accommodating, the rooms are clean, and offer lots of ammenities. The rooms we’ve stayed in were modern, had full kitchens, and had the little things that vactioners often forget.
There is a food truck who sits in their parking lot each day if you are hungry, but don’t want to leave the resort grounds. Or they are located within walking distance from a great pizza place or our fave… the Sniki Tiki.
The best thing? They have free yoga each morning on the beach. Can’t get more relaxing than that!

The hotel is clean if a little outdated and it’s convenient to have a kitchenette. The proximity to the beach is great too, but the beds and pillows are not comfortable. I really wish I had brought my own pillow.
I had this saved in drafts for awhile but wanted to submit my review anyway, You probably won’t spend a ton of time in your room because the beach is so close by and so amazing!!!

Pro: Nice location. Interior of hotel is nicer than expected. There is a kitchenette which is nice. Reasonable price. Tv’s have a DVD player and office has free rentals which is unique.
Cons: pillows are like a rock. Took a long time to get extra towels. Hidden resort fees.
I would go back again. I would just bring a pillow.

We needed a place to stay for 3 nights while we surprised my sister for a significant birthday. Our very late arrival was not a problem for the office staff. They informed me that they would leave a packet in the mailbox at the check-​in office for us and we could then complete our check-​in when we woke up in the morning. We had booked the room through American Express and when I checked in I was informed that there was an $ 11.22/day additional charge since the booking was through Orbitz. My wife was aware of this.
The grounds are well maintained with nice flowers and the staff were all very friendly. Our room was a small mini-​efficiency that was sufficient for our short stay. It had a king sized bed, bar height table with two stools, chest of drawers, compact refrigerator, sink, microwave and electric stovetop. The bathroom had a corner shower (no tub), sink and toilet. You could tell that the room was an older room by the age of some of the fixtures, but it was kept clean. The bed was comfortable but was also the best place to see the flat screen TV unless you turned it toward the high-​top table. The TV system included a dvd player. Free Wi-​Fi was also available. While the room had a coffee maker and packets of coffee, there was also free coffee available in the front desk. We did not take advantage of the swiming pool. A dedicated parking space is provided in front of your room.
The location is good since it is just a few minutes walk to the beach. It is also close to the southern most bridge from Siesta Key to the mainland, so there is less traffic than at the northern bridge by the town center.

Love the room and kitchenette. Have all the little things. Being on the beach, sand gets everywhere. Found a small broom in the closet. Plenty of towels. Comfy bed. Fully stocked kitchen and coffee condiments. Large dresser. Beautifully landscaped grounds. DVD rentals in office. Location is about a mile south of the busy area of the beach. Will stay again!

Surprised, but my room actually looked just like it did on the website. It was clean and comfortable since I was there for a friend’s wedding. It was strange, but it seems there are 3 parts to this hotel and a few others are right on the same property. There are no ocean views, but the water is only a short few minute walk away.
Before going down to the water, don’t forget a beach towel and lounge chair. If not, then you can pay for chairs and an umbrella, which seemed ridiculous. If you like to snorkel, go across the street to rent gear at the bike shop, it’s much cheaper than the hotels.
There are no restaurants on site, but in the morning be sure to stop by the breakfast cart guy! I missed it since he took vacation the week I was there, but heard he serves awesome breakfast sandwiches! If you are hungry, there are is a restaurant or 2 just across the street about 1⁄3 mile. I also bought snacks and lunch foods to make in my small kitchen in the room. There is a flower shop, convenient store, gas station, liquor store and fish market just across the street.
Use the free open sided taxis to get around town, it just easier than driving all the time for a big group.

We used Expedia to book this hotel during the low season… so we got a good deal… the hotel is not right on the water… but it only takes about 3 minute walk to get to the beach… and since it is far away from the main /​public beach access it is a very calm side of the beach.
There are a few restaurants in the area… but the main shopping /​restaurant area is about 3 miles north… you can easily do it with a bicycle… or there are this electric-​car taxis that work until late at night that will take you back and forth for about $ 3.
The room we stayed in was small… and looked a little run down… but at the same time it had that beach house feel to it… we really loved it…
It appears all rooms get at least one car parking… but is tight… and if you have more than one car… well… I am not sure what you are going to do with it during the hight season…

Yes! Yes! Yes! Stay here if you’re going to Siesta Keys for a quiet getaway. Even in spring break, this is far from the crowds yet on the best stretch of the beach. On a calm day, you can snorkel just steps from your front door.
So quiet and laid back, the only place I’d stay if I come back to this island of condos. Trust me, I searched for months, waiting for something «reasonable» to be available and though it seems pricey, this is an oasis of charm and rest compared to the $ 200 motels nearby.
You get a full kitchen, a staff that goes of their way to help and a location that steps from the best part of the beach, in my opinion. We walked all the way from this end to the north end and this end was more natural, serene. Although it draws a big crowd, the number of people are limited to part of the beach due to … lack of public parking. The crowd parks 3 miles north at the public lot so you get the best beach with less crowd.

Quite a cute little complex in the midst of some of the best beaches in continental US. I’m having a hard time explaining this one because I was taken aback by the solitude and serenity of what should be an obvious tourist trap.
This place is very cool and all I can say is, give it a try, you may be as impressed as we were.
Previous posts say it all. Just go if you can, just for the fun of it.
