Tony’s Chicago Beef-North Side

So I’ve never had a real in Chicago dawg, but I’ve been told what it should be like, and I would have to say this is close or spot on. Price is right too!

This is a new location for this business and business seems pretty good from my visit today. Tony himself was ringing up the customers and many of them seemed to know him. Tony is a big Chicago Cubs fan and there is Cubs stuff all over the place. Some of the menu items are also based on baseball, the cubs or the Blues Brothers. I had the «Belushi burger» today, and it was excellent. Who can see that on a menu and not think of Belushi doing his «Chee Burger, Chee Burger, Chee Burger» routine on SNL? Fries do not come with the burger, but they are cheap enough to order as a side. The fries are hand cut with the skins on and they were very good. The burger came out hot off the grill and just perfect. The sales clerk at the Sally’s Beauty Supply recommended trying the Italian Sausage dog which I was all set to do until the Belushi Burger caught my eye. Next time I will try one of their many variations of hot dogs. This is a low key and friendly, homey and welcoming kind of place. There is a counter to sit at or tables inside and outside. Location is very close to the intersection of US41 and Siesta Drive, across the street from the big mall in a strip mall of its own facing the mall on Siesta Drive. Cheap and unpretentious with friendly service… what more could you want for lunch?
