Description

Specialties

The Grasshopper Mexican Restaurant and Bar opened it’s doors in 1971 by owners Jesse and Cleo Rosales in Downtown Adrian, Michigan. There my family acquired the other half of the structure and «El Chapulin the Tex Mex Restaurant» was launched. Still in business and operated by our entire family, we have since opened a second location in Wauseon, Ohio and our third in Sarasota, Florida. Grandma’s secret: prepare everything in small batches, so we never jeopardize the art form of our food. We specialize in homemade nachos, burritos, tacos, salsa, chimichangas, quesadillas, chalupas, tamales, & much more!

History

Established in 1971.

«The Grasshopper Lounge» opened it’s doors in 1971 by owners Jesse and Cleo Rosales in the historical 1873 US Armory building of downtown Adrian, Michigan. Thereafter in 1978 the family acquired the other half of the structure and «El Chapulin Tex-Mex Restaurant» was launched. Still in business and operated by the entire family, they have since opened a second location in Wauseon, Ohio and their third in Sarasota, Florida.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

I was born in 1971 the same year my grandparents opened The Grasshopper in my hometown of Adrian, Michigan. Growing up in the family business was an amazing time for me and I knew this was my calling. To have the opportunity the carry on my grandmothers recipes, expand to Florida and carry on my family’s tradition of Tex-Mex flavors is truly a dream come true.
