I wanted to update my review. If this place is busy then you should be ok. Food is good for the price. However, we went on a very slow night, not many people in the restaurant and most things were dried out and not nearly as fresh as normal. I assume this is because they were not rotating the buffet. Note to self… If a buffet is not busy, don’t go.

Went there on christmas day(jewish tradition) they have a very large selections but almost all the dishes seemed to be not fresh. the general tzo chicken had a weird tangy taste, the sushi had dated fish and tasted off. My wife was put off by the ice cream scooper that came out of a murky water container that comes in contact with fingers and is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria. They had a mangolian grill station that would have been a better choice. Overall i was disapointed.

Hands down, some of the worst food I have ever ate in my life. I have pretty low expectations for buffets, this fell way below that mark. I just attempted to eat a California roll, as it seemed like the safest and most edible item available. Literally induced vomit in my mouth. I would question everything you eat here. The spring roll tasted like burnt electrical wire. The sweet and sour sauce tasted like rubbing alcohol. Sarasota, this isn’t even a shitty chinese/sushi buffet. This is a death trap.

A very large selection and the place was clean. The various food is ok at best, some dishes were dry and heated over. Service was quick. I would recommend for a buffet

This used to be my favorite place for cheap, but good Chinese food. This used to be the best Buffett in Sarasota, but not anymore. Past two times we’ve eaten here the food has been old, cold or the trays were empty. Now they have a sign hanging up saying they no longer serve crab legs. I hope they do something to make things, better or I don’t see them staying open.

I love their raw oysters! The food is pretty good. They have dim sum too. Their sushi is ok. I love the garlic green beans and their steamed clams. I like to have green tea ice cream for dessert.

Blah, same old Chinese food with crappy sushi. I should have know better but thought being close to the beach would mean fresh seafood. I was way off!

I read the reviews before suggesting that we try this place. Here’s what we experienced: There is a large selection of food, I’ll grant you that. We tried a bit of everything, except the Sushi. Not a fan, so I don’t have a comment about that. But, the buffet items, although plentiful, most of them are covered in sauces, and those that aren’t are generally quite tough and tasteless. Tried many of the chicken dishes and all of them were either tough or tough and covered with dough. The word stringy comes to mind when I think back on the sweet and sour chicken. The sauce was good though. The rice was bland. Have to say the Lo Mein noodles were good. The ribs — had to leave them on my plate because they were too hard to chew. The coconut shrimp was good — heavy sauce though. Pizza — yes they had pizza but it looked like cardboard pizza from the oven. Chicken nuggets — yes there were chicken nuggets — straight from the freezer to the oven chicken nuggets. Not what you expect at a restaurant. The fries were cold. In fact — everything was luke warm. The dessert selection — although there were many items to choose from, they weren’t that good. Stay away from the ice cream unless you want to be eating everyone elses germs from their hands. Yuck! The cookies were bland and tasteless, the bakery items in general were tasteless. The pudding was so-so. The fresh fruit is the only thing I would recommend. I was disappointed at the quality of the food for the price. We spent $ 50 for the 3 of us. We could have gone to any number of decent restaurants for that and been full as well as happy, so we know better now. Save your money. If you want a buffet go to Sweet Tomatoes where you get decent quality food for less money. If you want Chinese Food — pick a good Chinese restaurant that offers good quality. I just don’t think that the buffet food is very good and in fact, I would pay more for better quality.

My brother loves this place. I am meh about buffets. This has good sushi but the hot bar items are blah. Not enough shrimp items. Also they ruin several dishes with heavy sauces. Who ruins scallops with a sweet thick coconut sauce? Apparently the good stuff comes out for dinner.

The selection of food was amazing, I tried a little bit of most of them. Everything I had was good, The sushi was lackluster, and wasabi was not spicy, I will absolutely go there again for the food but probably not for the sushi,

I’ve been going here for some time now. Last Friday the hostest was in season as she was very rude snotty and when I finished my meal she chased me into the parking lot yelling. «You No Come back.» she is crazy. I wounder if the owner Zhong Zheng knows of this. He will soon via the BBB.

Huge selection of food. Sushi selection is good but not great. Something for everyone. The fried calami is very good. Huge desert selection.

Very clean and food was very good. Sushi was well prepared, fresh with a fairly wide variety and plentiful. Wait staff was very nice and prompt. For a $ 10 lunch with drink, excellent choice with a pretty big buffet with a wide variety of choices.

$ 10 for lunch and a drink, not bad at all. The hostess acted as if she hated her job but aside from that there was a variety of food selection both hot and cold dishes. Not overly crowded so it was quite pleasant for a quiet lunch break

This place is pretty good and got a really good selection of seafood and the normal stuff pretty big spread The price is fairly reasonable so no complaints probably good place to bring the family.

I’ve been to more«Asian Buffets» than I care to remember and I’ve often paid double the price for food that was less than half the quality as this place. Maybe I got it on a good night or maybe I’m just going through sushi withdrawal cause it’s been a while but this was much better than it should be for being in a strip mall off the highway in Sarasota.

I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about this place when I first heard our networking group was meeting there. I’m typically not a buffet person, never mind Chinese buffet. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The food is actually really, really good. Very fresh and tasty. They have some great sushi. And there is even a hibachi chef cooking stir fry to order. I did hear that they recently changed owners so perhaps that’s why this place had some bad reviews for the food. The only reason I didn’t give this 4 stars is that it’s a carpeted restaurant and is in need of some serious updating. Carpeting in restaurants is usually greasy and difficult to clean. This was no exception. But where else can you get good sushi for under $ 10?

I’ve put this review off for a long time not wanting to be perceived as some Gomer that doesn’t know good Japanese and Chinese food, which I think I do having spent many years in the restaurant design business with a large Asian clientele. Dozens of hot entrees massed produced do not lend themselves to being exceptional. With those parameters, the food here is quite good if we refer to it as «Chinese Style». We’ve had lunch here a number of times and find the place to be brightly lit, clean and orderly with fresh portions added constantly. The only negative to the«infrastructure» is the past their prime upholstered booths with tears, loose seats and wobbly backs. Their sushi is always attractively prepared, fresh tasting and nicely displayed with broad choices. They also have a number of Japanese style cold salads with a couple of different seaweed concoctions. The fresh seafood offerings(at lunch) are cold medium shrimp, large green tip mussels and a spicy marinated squid /mussel salad. A number of hot soups; hot and sour(a bit off from what I perceive this soup should taste like) wonton ton, and something called BBQ rib soup. Along with the soups is a selection of steamed buns which are good but usually lack enough filling. There are also some«appetizer» type foods interspersed with the entrée’s; baked mussels, crab Rangoon, fried pork dumplings, I enjoy all three of these and think they’re quite well prepared. And one item that gives us a laugh; the listed«stuffed crab» which actually seems to be a chopped clam flavored stuffing served in an oyster shell. A full choice«American» salad bar is offered too. Then an abundance of hot entrees with one of my favorites coconut flavored sea scallops, large and covered in a syrupy light colored sweet sauce. Somehow I doubt(don’t know) these are scallops. I know shark and other fishes can be used as a substitute for scallops and what is served here are just too big and plentiful to be costly sea scallops. Still I find them very tasty. Many chicken choices are offered all with familiar names along with a few seafood items stretched a bit with Surimi. Additionally they offer a large baked salmon and a particularly good flounder. Nearby is a baked pork roast and sometimes roast beef. Interspersed with the above items are the things you expect; Lo mien, Mei fun, vegetable Egg Foo Young, beef with vegetables, General Tso chicken etc. Also they usually have some fried squid(dies quick on a steam table) but has a very chewy goodness along with a pan of steamed Gui Lan and other vegetables. Also located at the back is a full Mongolian style pick your protein and vegetables and have them cooked to order area. For the kids or your less adventurous eaters they also have along with the salad bar; Mac & Cheese, pizza, fried chicken, chicken fingers etc. A large cross section of desserts is displayed in a separate area, along with apple pie that is always strangely in the middle of the hot entrees? One further complaint(common in Florida) is the community ice cream dipping cabinet. Six large tubs of ice cream with scoops provided. It’s impossible to dip without getting fingers, hands and arms in the product and a turn off for me. Soft ice cream dispensers easily solve this problem or as is best in my case, just avoid the ice cream. A lot of food and choices for $ 7.29 at lunch and once you find some of your favorites it makes for an enjoyable afternoon of over eating.

OK, I have eaten at way too many Chinese buffets, and for the most part, the food is average, but this place is a Chinese buffet gastronomic nightmare! Food was far below average in quality and taste; what the hell is this stuff made from? The hot items tasted stale and where room temperature at best. The cold items where just passable and don’t even ask me about the Sushi as my partner said all the items she tried tasted weird. Service was without a care and after the initial drink order, completely non existent; honestly, how hard is it to bring just ONEDRINKREFILL over the course of dining — even when asked! Really, this place just became my worst Chinese buffet experience as my partner and myself«paid for it in the end» just a few hours later(I’ll refrain from the toiletry descriptions). I don’t care how cheap this place is(Lunch was $ 6.99 a person plus drink for a grand total of almost $ 19.00 with tax for two) I WILLNEVERRETURNTOTHISPLACE and I give fare warning to others as well!

The only reason why I gave this place three stars instead of two was the all you can eat sushi. The sushi was really good and I would come back simply for this aspect of the buffet. The waitress was acceptable although she kind of slacked on refilling the water. The Chinese food was not great and the buffet wasn’t organized well. They put some things were they didn’t belong like putting the apple pie in the entrée area. The lo mein was decent although I’ve had much better. Even though the dinner was supposed to include crab legs, I didn’t see any there which makes the price kind of a rip off for the quality of what you get. The atmosphere of this place also has a lot to be desired. Like i said, I’d come back for the sushi although if I find a place with all you can eat sushi somewhere else…
