History

Established in 2003.

Beth and Jill moved to Sarasota to live near their dad, Jack Daddy. Along with Keith and Geno, the family invites guests into a welcoming environment.

In 2006 the kitchen was remodeled to a start of the art kitchen, and a new back bar was installed so the family can enjoy all the Bears games.

The building has some historical characteristics and we invite everyone to come enjoy the live music and sit back and relax on Siesta Key!

Ambiance 6⁄5. This place is downright fun to hang around. It’s better than 5 stars.
Service 5⁄5. The service is spot on. We were here 3 times in a weekend and every time we had perfect service. Sitting at the bar or eating dinner at a table, these people simply know how to run a restaurant.
Food 4⁄5. The food is really good, but just short of perfect. A little too much lime on the crab cakes, a little too much cheese on the flatbread. You still won’t be sorry you had a meal here.
Happy hour is $ 7 for a dozen oysters, which is the best deal you’ll find in a resort town. And they were fresh and meaty.

This is a really cool place within a stone’s throw from Siesta Key. I’ve taken dates here before, but I would not recommend doing so if there is a live band playing. If there’s a cover band, the music is usually too loud to have a reasonable conversation if you are sitting anywhere on the outdoor deck.
Drinks are correctly priced. Parking can be a little tricky; I usually park at the market over on a neighbouring street and take my chances.
The place is casual, and I cannot comment on the food as I have never eaten here.

Was there for happy hour and oysters were fantastic fresh. Service great. Place was packed it we only had to wait long enough to start enjoying the Don Julio jalapeño cilantro Margarita. It had the key west feel.

This is our go-​to place in Sarasota/​Bradenton. The seafood is fresh, and well seasoned and prepared. The wait staff is friendly, efficient, and well informed. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality. Try it, you won’t be sorry.

One of my fave places in the key. Been coming here for a few years now. Oysters are pretty good. Food is just okay. But it’s expected with this type of bar. Great atmosphere. Always busy. And great live music.

On vacation here for a week and have eaten here multiple times! If you love oysters, the happy hour here is a steal! $ 7 for a dozen oysters?! Awesome! I love places like this — simple, no frills, very casual, the service is prompt and super friendly and most important, the food is great!
Oysters are large and super fresh and are served with lemons, horseradish, cocktail sauce, and saltine crackers. Simple and perfect! We also tried the clam chowder and crab cakes, which were quite good as well.

Siesta key oyster bar is absolutely a must visit in siesta key. Best time to visit is during their happy hour from 3 to 6 where you can get half priced raw oysters or a delicious Crawdaddy bowl with potatoes and corn. The outside dining area is really nice at night and the oyster bar always seems to have live music. Siesta key oyster bar is also one of the few places where you can get a rum drink made from Siesta Key Rum Distillery which ironically is located in Sarasota. But try a siesta key rum with pineapple juice… very good. We really enjoy a server by the name of Joe if you’re in the area asked for Joe!

Casual, friendly service that provides quality food and strong drinks!
Service: whether your grabbing a seat at the bar or a table for two, the service is friendly and knowledgable and not at all pushy.
Food: 3pm on they have the best oyster deals in town $ 7 for a dozen but even if you come before then, prices are decent and quality is exceptional. Oysters Rockefeller are a must have — giant oysters with light tasty breading, and spinach.
Special: Stone Crab! YUM YUM YUM! Enough said. Rare, they haven’t had it in 3 years according to the bartender.
Atmosphere: bring your dollar bills and don’t forget to post it up on their walls or ceiling and become part of a Sarasota Staple :)

And we both got the pan seared scallops w Risotto. Waitress recommended adding cheese
Plates came w 2.5 scallops BUT stating we owe you more. Chef personally delivered us another 2 a pieces each with his apologies

Great happy hour specials and an extensive menu of mixed drinks! We had a great time here after a day at the beach, and we didn’t feel out of place when we showed up in beach wear with sand stuck to our legs. Oysters and crawfish bake were delicious and we shared tacos and sandwiches at our table. Super satisfying, affordable and a fun environment overall.

Update: went back this weekend and had an awesome time. Small wait but went to the bar for a drink before our table. Always a good time so I’m up-​ing the stars. Great place.

Surprising little sports bar. It says Oyster bar and they had seafood but I went there when looking for a bar to catch the NFL games on Sunday, and they had them! Staff was super laidback. Place is family friendly. Menu was solid.

Saw all the great reviews and wanted to check it out for myself. I knew the $ 7/​dozen oysters ended at 6pm and I was stuck in traffic en route. I called the restaurant, Alyssa picked up and explained my hurried situation. She spoke to the manager and said they would be able to accommodate the HH price when I arrived. Fortunately my BF and I arrived right on time. We ordered 4 dozen oysters, 2 orders of buffalo shrimp and the seafood flatbread. Everything was perfect– service was great (server spent 10 minutes giving us suggestions on what to do in Sarasota), food was delicious, and environment was very low-​key and casual. I will be going back here again when in the area. Fantastic food with great prices and service!

Props to the patient staff at SKOB for putting up with us… We came for happy hour after a 5-​hour booze cruise on the Gulf that featured many of us already near the tipping point of drunken debauchery. EASILY could have kicked us out. Food, drinks, happy hour deals were all excellent.
My friends and I (bachelor party) all volunteer for a Ukrainian charity organization whose motto is SKOB (acronym in Ukrainian for strong, radiant, steadfast, bold), so it was only fitting we had lunch here. We ordered a bunch of grouper bites and plates of oysters for the group and took advantage of the Yuengling pitcher specials which were flowing copiously as the afternoon dragged on.
The grouper bite plate is HUGE and the oysters are MASSIVE. SKOB doesn’t skimp on portion size and the affordability is great, especially during HH. Great environment, too. An authentic seafood shack in a happening beach town that deserves it.
Highly recommend SKOB for an amazing happy hour if you’re looking to party in Siesta!

This restaurant is an absolute must visit if you are in Siesta Key. We stopped by here after a long day on the beach and were happily surprised by their 3 – 6 PM happy hour. 1 dozen oysters for $ 7 as well as a must try crawfish boil for $ 7! Both of these items were extremely fresh.
After that, we still managed to order corn chowder and a crab cake. The crab cake had a ton of meat in it, which is surprising for most places. I have to admit the final part of the meal were the Caribbean jerk wings. Wow! These were cooked to perfection and may be some of my favorite ever. You have to eat here and you won’t regret it!

What can I say? I dream about coming back to this place. The buffalo oysters are so incredible. The ambiance here is so great! You immediately feel relaxed walking in. They have live music sometimes. The service has always been wonderful. Their beer selection is extensive. If you like oysters, you will not be disappointed. This is my favorite restaurant in the area. Do yourself a favor and try it!

The following points apply to SKOB:
–It’s located in the heart of Siesta Key Village.
–Excellent, airy outdoor covered patio.
–Live music.
–Pretty good selection of regular and craft beers. Discounted beer late at night.
–Fairly extensive menu for a pub type restaurant with fresh seafood
–Amazing happy hour deal for raw oysters. ($ 7 for a dozen?!? I’ve paid $ 8 for THREE where I live in Ohio!) The oysters are a bit on the small side, but they’re super fresh and cheap.
It would be nice if they had the beer discounts earlier in the day as well. And the parking situation in Siesta Key Village is more or less horrible. But overall, I love the SKOB for the above mentioned reasons. We’ve only been here for 5 days so far, and I’ve come here twice already. They deserve a 5-​star rating. In my opinion, the best restaurant in the Siesta Key Village.

FOOD: This place prob has great oysters but we were starving and weren’t gonna eat all their oyster supply to fill our bellies. So. I tried the fish tacos, burger, and seafood pizza. Pass on the fish tacos– too bland, lots of breading without the crunchiness, the burger though is juicyyy and huge. The pizza wasn’t bad– thin pizza with cheesy creamy shrimp and crab
PRICE: $ 12 – 15
SERVICE: They are friendly, have outside seating, and is vey close to the beach. Parking though. Is going to be difficult.
BOTTOM LINE: Beach towns don’t usually have good food, but this place has juicy burgers and crunchy fries you will dream abt.
