Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa

I booked a couples massage for Valentine’s Day here and after it all I wish I would have saved the money. The appointment started 7 minutes late and ended 5 minutes early. One of the masseuse did not provide one of the extras we had signed up for and then tried to have us charged for it. My masseuse rushed through my entire massage, almost like she had no clue what she was doing, and then didn’t even focus on the areas she had asked me about. The only plus to the whole experience was the tables were heated, and it wasn’t that expensive.

Hand and Stone massage is a not a nice place.
On our first visit, we found out that they have a program, where you join and get member pricing.
We did so and went there three times after.
We did not love their services.
But even worse, is their customer service. They definitely have some employee (front desk) problems, which ends up ruining the experience.
Needless to say we canceled our monthly membership with them.
Be careful. They simply froze our account and we realized months later that they had started charging us yet again.
They will not return your phone calls or emails, by the way. You must go there.
The rude manager stated that the forms to freeze the account or cancel the account, look very similar.
She pretty much stated that they could charge you even after you cancel.
Be aware!

Told me they would not charge my c/​c until February & additionally would let me know prior to doing so. Not only did they charge me, they charged me in error, & now are refusing to credit my account back. Providing me w/​some song & dance routine ALONG W/​SARCASTIC RUDE RESPONSES!

I booked a facial appointment for a friend and me a few weeks in advanced, and the spa texted me on both the day before the appointment and the day of the appointment to confirm and remind me of my appointment; I thought that was quite nice. Their administrative service was very polite.
My facial felt wonderful, but unfortunately my esthetician spent the entire time undermining the beauty products that I currently use, and heavily pushing me towards the products she was applying on me. I understand that the spa wants their customers to purchase their products, but I didn’t pay for a facial and a rude skincare commercial. She spoke somewhat condescendingly to me, pointing out my imperfections (which I don’t mind, because now I have a greater understanding of my skin) and explaining why the products I was currently using were doing more harm than good (which I was somewhat offended by, because she offhandedly made the notion that I didn’t know what I was doing when it came to my skincare), and why her products would be so much more effective. That made me feel pretty uncomfortable.
The facial was supposed to last 60 minutes, but it lasted no more than 40 minutes. I brushed it off thinking that it was normal, but my friend came out 15 minutes after I did, and I realized that my esthetician was rushing my appointment because she already had her next client waiting in the lobby. There were still more than 15 minutes left before my scheduled hour was over, as she ushered in her new client.
However, I have absolutely no complaints about the facial itself. She did a wonderful job exfoliating my skin and extracting many imperfections, for which I am very grateful. My friend also enjoyed her facial very much, which lasted closer to 55 minutes and her esthetician did not speak and allowed her to relax during the facial, which she appreciated. The products she used are fantastic, and had I not had such an unpleasant experience I would have considered buying the clay mask she used. I also received a brief neck and shoulder massage, which I enjoyed.
Overall, I would be willing to give this place another shot. Hopefully, I’ll have a different esthetician next time. It was definitely a 4 to 5-​star experience, but I’d maybe take a half a star off for my esthetician.

I guess maybe the massage did the trick but it was absolutely the most average experience I’ve ever had. I purchased a special $ 44 one hour massage for my boyfriend and I. He came out an hour and ten minutes later carrying on conversation. I left 43 minutes after the massage with my specialist rushing me out so she could clean up for the next guest. She didn’t focus on any pain areas and definitely only had one elbow move.

I have been going to this Hand & Stone location for a few months now. I absolutely love everything about it. The entire staff has always been very professional. It is never hard to book and appointment. I like to book my appointments online and their website makes it very east to do so.
I assure you will have a great experience!
Their monthly membership program makes it so affordable to get a monthly massage! It’s my little piece of haven once a month :-)

I used to gave a membership to Hand and Stone in North Carolina and the massages have usually been adquete, but the massage by Derek today was outstanding! Too bad I’m just visiting can’t make it a regular thing. Highly reccomended, what a pleasant suprise!

Great experience today! I brought my sister in law for her first massage!!! She loved it! And became a member, I am an out of town member and was welcomed and Derrick gave a great massage and we added on the sugar scrub foot massage!!! Oh my it was a perfect finish to vacation!!! You guys rock!

The worst experience. They do not care about providing a relaxing experience. The staff is short and rude and their masseuse are held to poor grooming standards. I left with scratches on my arm and back. I brought this up to the front desk staff, she did not apologize, just charged me and said have nice day. They don’t care about the customer or the experience, they just want to up charge and take your money.
