Get On Board

The most disappointing, unprofessional, disrespectful, hostile business/​management and experience I have ever had any involvement with thus far in my life… My family attempted to rent 3 paddle boards; after they paid for all 3 we were informed that several fins were broken and we could only rent 2. The 2 that were rented were not properly set up, as the fins attached were not secure. It was pointed out to the employee and he reassured us that everything would be fine. He also said the refund for the 3^rd board would be processed once the boards were returned. After only using the boards for a couple of hours, one of the fins fell off in the ocean. It was immediately addressed with the rental company and was not well received. The paddle boards were then returned and the young man who originally processed the rental said he would only charge us for one board due to the inconvenience. The «so called owner» came in the office/​facility. From the get go, Wade Risha («so called owner», real owner Bruce Day) was totally disrespectful and out of line. He wanted to charge $ 70 for the fin that was not secured on the board in the first place and was pointed out initially at time of rental. He then lowered the amount to $ 40 for the fin. Once the actual transaction began, he went back on his $ 40 quote for the lost fin and again said $ 70. This obviously created questions and concern. He began to get verbally aggressive and threatening. His arrogance was evident! The situation got out of control quickly as he physically assaulted one of my family members who was attempting to call the police. Wade, «so called owner», ripped off his shirt and came around the corner of the counter threatening to kick someone’s ass. He was determined to make a physical point as he began yelling and cussing at everyone. The family member he assaulted left the facility and was standing on the sidewalk outside, off property. Wade, «so called owner» continued his rage outside on the sidewalk, again physically assaulting the family member 2 more times. An elderly, female (placing herself in danger) family member had to step in between the two to stop any further assault by Wade. Let me point out, no one he was physically or verbally assaulting placed a hand on him. The police showed up and began questioning everyone involved. A report was taken and the decision the press charges is still pending. The next day the real owner, Bruce Day, was contacted by a family member involved to address the concern in regards to him having an employee, Wade Risha, being a huge liability to his company… As this will more than likely happen again in the future with other paying customers. The addressed concern about Wade’s obviously unstable, explosive, out of control behavior was only to prevent any future, unnecessary situations, as happened the day before, to happen again and to prevent any customer being placed in the hostel, dangerous situation we were all placed in as well. Mr. Day seemed completely uninterested in discussing this further and said he had to take another phone call. The call was placed on hold, another employee picked up the phone and said Mr. Day was no longer available.
Please be aware of renting from this company or having any involvement with the facility in any any capacity … As this is also a gym, Siesta Fitness. No one should ever have to experience this behavior, lack of respect, and lack of professionalism again. What have people become? When an owner has no regard or concern for how his employees treat others and would rather ignore a serious issue than address a legitimate concern… This is a problem!!!
