Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

Really good steakburgers, I like mine classic with cheese, onions, mustard and pickles. Friendly staff and a very clean restaurant. Fries are thin and flavorful. Its never busy though!?, must be the location.

Should have wrote this review a while ago, so I will have to update if I ever find myself eating here again, which I’m not in a hurry to do.
I’ve never heard of the Freddy’s chain, but it offers up burgers, dogs and fries/​custard atmosphere. My fiancé, his parents and I went there to give it a try. I love curly fries, so naturally I ordered an extra one for myself, which they forgot to make me. No big deal. After very kind offers to get one for me quickly (staff was nice/​courteous but.) I waited by the window for a solid 16 minutes, (after questioning several times) before I finally received my fries. I understand there was a queue and people’s orders need to go out, but I don’t think fries should have caused such a delay, or why I was made to wait so long. My family finished eating and were ready to go home by the time I got them, so– I just took my food home.
While this isolated incident probably won’t happen again if I went there to eat once more– to add a little salt to my wound… my food was just barely alright. Now, I’m not expecting gourmet burgers by any means, but in all honesty, if I’m in the mood for fast burgers a step above McDonalds, I’d rather keep driving down University to spend a little more and eat at Culver’s…even though they have waffle fries :(
Edit: I haven’t reviewed many establishments as of yet, so maybe two stars was a bit harsh. I edited my review to include an additional rating, since I felt the food was satisfactory.

Love it! Had a chili cheese dog, my honey had the Chicago dog. They were both excellent. Chicago dog had an authentic flavor. My chi cheese dog had just the right spiciness. Of course, the star was the custard. Creamy and rich. I would come here just for the custard. I certainly recommend this location. Cleaner than other locations I’ve been to.

We both got different items, but I’ll only comment on mine.
Went with the Double Steakburger, California style, w/​cheese fries topped w/​jalapeños, and a drink. Had to wander back for the forgotten jalapeños. All cooked good, tasted pretty good! Happy to have Pepsi products on tap instead of Coke too. Tasty burger and toppings, but lack of flavor with the shredded lettuce — or lack there of, and not a huge amount of flavor from «freddy’s sauce» either. Fries were a bit on the bland side too. Closest to In-​N-​Out without going to Cali, but it’s no In-​N-​Out! Followed up with a medium Hawaiian custard for dessert — it was also DEEElicious!
Add to that a very clean place.
** I will say I’d rather see red onion than the white onion on a burger. More color, more flavor. And leaf lettuce would surpass the bland shredded stuff that was barely there. Just my opinion, still an okay burger that was cooked just right.

NEW! First time at Freddy’s — I can’t say enough good things about it! I’ll be frequenting there and when you try it — you will too!

This is a really decent fast food place. There are pictures and plaques all over the shop showing Freddy coming home from WWII as well as his opening stores for Freddy’s food is good, price is great. Atmosphere ok.

First time at Freddy’s and most likely my last. not only did i have to repeat my order 3 times it still came out wrong sent it back. The manager had to come and write our order on a piece of paper. apparently I upset the gal at the register so bad she had to go on break. why would you let a new person with no training at the register with no one to stand beside her. by the time the burgers were right the fries were cold. mom took her fries home to eat later. i give them 1 star because the place was clean. now I’m home and I can’t stay out of the bathroom!!!

Beyond excited. I absolutely love Freddy’s and possibly have them to thank for my diabetes. First discovered them in Wichita KS 12 years ago.
I really don’t care too much for their steak burgers nor the fries. The star for me is still and always has been the vanilla custard. It’s the best I have ever enjoyed. It’s so great to know that there is a store now only 210 miles from home. I’ll be back any chance I get. (I’ll have my insulin ready)

Front door was clean but floor entrance was missing most paint and not a welcoming place. No history on who or what Freddy’s is? Nothing on the walls just plain boring white walls with red trim? First time there on University Parkway and just a big grease bomb burger with very little bun for the burger and the fry’s so skinny I was not sure it was potato. $ 24 for 3 burgers and 2 fry. There was a screen for me to look at but not sure why as I told the cashier what we wanted. Waste of money for owners to have 2 screens. Burgers only took 3 mins so quite fast on service but the food tasted like a 3 min burger grease bomb. No lids for take out so the Freddy’s sauce had to be placed on top of bag and delicate care not to spill the ¹⁄₈ oz mini sized to go cups. We have Culvers just down the road and Five guys so not sure why these people think they have a shot in this location? Most likely not going back as there competition blows them away. Sorry Freddy you scored a D– and will only get Winter snowbirds until they figure out you suck just like Demetrios soon to be the next place to shut down.
